I have a broken shakespear catera 10'6 float rod. It is broken in two pieces as you can see, Is it any good for maybe making an ice rod, i have no experience in making rods but any suggestions would be apprechiated.

I would hate to throw it away...

Oh heck ya, the main section might be a bit stiff, but you could still use it for lake trout jigging if you have them nearby, and the 2nd section would work fine for a lot of other fish if you put a cork handle and rod seat on it. Might not be too sensitive for some species, but would work.

I love the fly rod! Gonna make me one. :D

But we use the handle ends for ice fishing.

I just attached a piece of graphite on the tip of a broken rod when a pencil wasn't long enough in my hubby's workshop.

Cottage back scratcher.

Cat fishing (feline variety) add catnip toy to end and have fun.

House plant stake, for the tall varieties.

Add a dust mop and you have a spider web duster for those hard to reach places.

:D
