the wire setup can also be used for LSC muskie. i've used my wire setups flat lining muskie baits there. Also, I believe Aaron Shirley has used his wire setups for inland muskie in small(er) lakes. NOTHING beats wire on lake ontario for fun factor. Give someone 10 colour core or 400' section of copper and see how quickly they go back to the wire setups. Wire = Fun. (just make sure you have a high(er) end reel for it, as the drag is worked a lot harder)

Does Toyota, the current biggest expanding motor company in Ontario, fall under the CAW?
-
the "power" of the CAW is minimal, if any, these days. they show that on a frequent basis. wages can only be "cut" to standard market wages. Not below. If market wages are lower than they once were, well, then that's what the job is worth now.

100.000 Walleye Stocked in Hamilton Harbor
Steve replied to Fish Farmer's topic in General Discussion
bucktail - you are correct. this has been done before. (I was fortunate enough to catch "one" in 2004, a product of the first stocking attempt, but overall ....) I think it should be some good bass bait until they are all eaten. -
Remember when Paul was here asking for support for the Fish'n Canada fishing host opportunity? http://www.fishncanada.com/content/view/838/ Did anything happen with this? Was a winner chosen? Or did it go the way of the "reality show" they did, as well as FNC? (Fishn Canada has a history of these types of things)

stay far away from trackers... and for that matter, legends. otherwise, he'll be fine!

hey, no problem with the ass comment. I am one.

I'm sorry you feel the harbour is not a great fishery. I disagree. However, like you said, pressure has created challenges on fish catches. With the population around it, it had to be expected. Just to clarify, I didn't say anyone fishing pike was poaching bass - just the ones that are casting AT spawning bass, over and over, with spinnerbaits.... the single best one was the guy throwing the scum frog over the grass saying he was carp fishing. Either way, I don't agree pulling bass off their spawning nests doesn't affect their spawn, especially with the goby and brown bullhead population in the harbour.

Live2Fish85, after watching the decline over the last 10 years, seeing fish caught on opener with four and five hook marks already in their mouths, and seeing guys throw spinnerbaits at spawning bass, while "pike" fishing, I'm sorry - they should make the harbour a fishing sanctuary until bass opener. there are lots of bodies of water found on the great lakes that already have sanctuaries instituted until bass opener - and they contain pike. I would love to see the same in the harbour. But like anything, policing it would be a major challenge.

and smally21, the "pro's" are having a tough time catching bass down there as well. the recent twilight tournament, by the hamilton bassmasters, had very poor results, as did the fun tournament held two Saturday's ago.
-
as well, the prime spawning fish need to be left alone during the spawn, and not targetted under the guise of "pike" fishing.

Made in China. I believe imported through New York State. However, yep, Grant is Canadian.

gotta love it when you have to kick the tampon applicators aside on the liftbridge ramp just to launch. too bad the carp won't eat those things as well.

Canadian?

keeping only one treble hook on a jerkbait, which one?
Steve replied to snagged's topic in General Discussion
we take the centre hooks off all our three treble salmon / trout stick baits... for example, i don't own a ripplin redfin with the centre hook on it. once the centre hook is removed, we upsize the front and back hooks, to keep the weight balance. i use a jewelers digital scale to ensure the weight of the three original hooks is the same as the two new upgraded, upsized hooks. usually is very close. we use 2x gammy hooks or st41 owner hooks for our upgrades. -
i'd think they don't want fish coming from rivers, as anglers should catch, not snag fish, in order to be eligible.

i wish i kept a log of all the snidley rants i've read on all the different boards over the years... 90% of them are very valid. however, the remaining 10% are absolutely insane - and very entertaining!

tie you line directly to the spinnerbait... no slip.

here ya go. trust me. http://www.nicholslures.com/pulsator_metal_flake_spinnerbaits.htm

There is one brand of spinnerbaits that sits well above the rest. Nichols. Folks up here used to sell them, but due to their price (10.99 at min) they didn't sell. We order direct from Nichols.

are you looking for any specific information? i run the yamaha 60hp tiller. currently about 2000 hours on it. 2009 model.

there are those species. we used to fish it at night as kids.... no public access.

MM, if that concerns you, what about the 1000's of anglers who simply paid for a PCOC license, never even opening a single test book / website. Didn't even have to pay an inflated amount, just simply paid, and card send to them via email until the real one arrived. Two of the folks who offered this service are members of this very board.

what would the north shore of huron be considered? cause I was using my google maps ap on my rogers wireless to find logging roads that lead to the north shore of huron. about as "off" the beaten path as you can find up there.... Although Bdox and I both use Rogers, my blackberry was picking up better signals than the iPhone. Finally - if your more "off" the beaten path than I have described above - what the heck do you want your phone to work for? Remember when we camped with no phones?

johnny, you could have still bought the same tackle and goodies ... as the okuma magda is the same price, maybe less, and a better reel... the convector is one step up from the magda. okuma's are great reels for the money...no, they don't last forever, but okuma has one of the best replacement policies in fishing...
