does anyone else's company allow for "life balance days", or similar? we don't get sick days. zero. however, we get 7 (that do not carry over) "life balance days" per year. They can be used if your sick, if a child is sick, or if you just want the day off. They can be used without notice. After those 7 days are taken, any further day off, for any reason, goes unpaid. makes for coming in the next day with a sunburn a little easier.

TJ, i just wanted to THANK YOU for pointing out what PRO STAFF means. Too many anglers feel "pro staff" means professional - heck no. Most pro staff have less hours on the water than average fisherman, cause they are so busy in bps's, sportsman shows, and the like trying to hawk their goods, while other anglers are on the water 150+ days a year. PROmotional staff correct. PROfessional staff - maybe five or so guys in this province - maybe. I think the past recently showing someone's son holding a laker is a great example of PROmotional staff - not PROfessional staff.

Rich, tubines don't contain any storage capacity. they can only generate. the generated power is then transmitted to storage devices (forms of batteries), or to the grid. storing power is not practical ($$$$), which is why all our power generators (coal, hydro, nuclear, etc) all send their power directly back to the grid.

"If you know a thing about these windmills the energy can't be stored for long so has to be sold, which goes for cheap." wow - rather misinformed. wind turbines don't determine if energy can be stored - they only create energy. it is up to the owner to determine if they want to harness and sell back to the grid, or store it. nothing to do with the turbine itself. as long as they don't move offshore, i'm for the most part 100% a-ok with wind turbines.

Ron, don't call your fish a world record (unless it actually is) and it would likely have received more good jobs. It's a huge fish none the less. By them actually calling it a "world record" it shows they don't believe the "real" world record is legit. I'm quite sure (100% actually) that if Laz, Thorpe, or anyone else actually caught the real world record, photo's would be shown left and right (knowing the muskie game, likely sold to the highest bidding website). Further, I'm quite sure if that fish weighed 65.5lbs and not 58.5lbs the fish would have been kept. So good on the fish for coming in under the 65lbs mark - cause it likely saved its life! edit: spelling

sail is a great store from my experiences - which have been many with my local store in burlington. it has also kept my local tackle shops working harder to bring in tougher to find tackle that sail doesn't have...which is very smart on their behalf. local shops may be $1 to $1.50 more on a rapala lure, but are now bringing in walls of lures that sail doesn't have. to the consumer this means better selection and better prices. i'll leave my bps comments to another thread.

if its IGFA, it'll be a line class record. IGFA recognizes fish even though they are released.

crap, just saw the hit on youtube. it was one of the cleanest hits i've seen in a while. he glided from just inside the blueline. threw his shoulder. i guess my biggest fear in all of this comes from this thread. i'm 30, not young, not old. i'm not old school, nor new school. i'm scared that hockey is turning into a pansie sport - but resistance from fans is there. but you always administer change by starting with the youngest (ie, smoking, drinking and driving, etc). if guys that are "new school" think that check was a bad hit, than I'm afraid what is going to happen to hockey in 10 years from now.

wow. really? i wouldn't have expected that in a million years. i still remember the good days when I was dealing with freezing ferry conditions first week of december (2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007). hmmm, you have me thinking now. ferry is a much better ramp than finkles.

i'll do my best to give a ramp update on Sunday. we are heading out this saturday. not the best time of the year to be playing around on the reach unless you have a lot of experience with that specific body (and section) of water, the launches, the winds, etc.

Due to my winter use of batteries, I purchase new 12v deep cycle batteries every two seasons. I'm due to purchase two new batteries this winter, so I have 2 Interstate SRM29 Deep Cycle 12v batteries *free* if anyone would like to pick them up. I'm in Hamilton, but work in Mississauga. Because I do frequently update my deep cycle batteries, these are only a few years old. I'll keep my current ones as backup to the two new ones, however, I don't need my current backup set. They are kept charged at all times. They likely are at about 70%-75% capacity,compared to a new battery. Reply here or Msg me.
