  1. and it begins..... lets go Germany!!!
  2. steve piggott, who guides the lower grand, just recently posted a report (on another board) where he's still into big cats on the lower grand.
  3. i believe abu makes a version of the ambassadur that is left handed and has a clicker....i know, cause I own one down stairs that i use for cat fishing.... it's silver...5501 I think?
  4. the Fam looks happy!!! glad the kid's looks took after jamie and not you!!!
  5. thanks man. 7.5 years flew by with the Yukon. I hope the Suburban treats me as well.
  6. karl is top notch!! i know he's not the most popular among the "cool tournie" guys, but I think he's great!!
  7. Picked up my new truck last night. Haldimand really stepped up. They did about 1K in work. Upon leaving the parking lot, directly to my mechanics I went. My mechanic said they even put on quality aftermarket parts, rather than cheaper versions. I'm going to drive it for 2 weeks hard, then back to my mechanic. He'll list anything that requires work, in which Haldimand will review and do for free. Haldimand is the ones who suggested it. I can't complain. I'll get some photo's up soon. On my way to BPS to buy my dad the matching top to his bps rain bibs for his birthday.
  8. Taltson Bay Pike Lodge..... That place just isn't fair.
  9. that's correct fact remains we are less than a month away from the first stagers showing up.
  10. that new floor you put in your boat dave is sweet! I'm sure you'll get good dollars for your boat.
  11. thanks for the info all.... the vehicle I'm buying was not a rental. single owner. four years old. 2010 Suburban. I've been looking for a vehicle since March and have kept my eye on prices for Yukon's, Tahoe's, and Suburbans. The price I paid for the vehicle is right .... was it dirt cheap - nope....but reviewing autotrader every day for five months has at least given me an idea of market value's, and it was a fair value.
  12. i do appreciate the advice.... I'm going to list it on Kijiji and here once I take possession of my "new to me" 2010 Suburban.
  13. haldimand offered me $300!
  14. Hello All, I'm purchasing a new truck and I figured I'd trade my current one in. The trade in value was rediculously low, I think lower than pure scrap value. Now, I understand my truck is not in great shape, but I do believe it is better than what I'm being offered. Here are the "no bull" details. The Details: - 2003 GMC Yukon SLT (fully loaded) - 355K km's - 4x4 (rear wheel drive, 4x4 auto, 4x4 high, 4x4 low) - Never been in an "accident" (but as you can see by the body shots, I have hit things, and been hit, lol. Just no accidents that have been repaired). The Bad: - a/c does not work - rear "climate control" doesn't work - rear windshield wipers don't work - passanger backseat door does not open from inside - vehicle body in rougher shape (but no major rust issues) - rear window defrost often doesn't work (but sometimes does, lol) - crack in drivers side, side view mirror, which causes a loud high pitch sound when travelling at speeds greater than 90km. The Good: - Engine and Transmission both strong without issues. - 4x4 works perfectly - Engine does not burn oil or any other fluids - Rad works fine, temps never rise while towing, etc - Only ever towed 2,000lbs or less (I have a 17' tiller boat) - cruise control works - Passed drive clean test June 30, 2014 (nothing even close to failing) - Currently drives me 110KM round trip (daily) Monday through Friday without any issues - Drives on the highway at 120km (and up to 130km) without any shaking, or front end issues - Decent tread still left on Michelin LTX M/S tires Photo's: Be honest. I'm not expecting it to be worth a ton, not by any means. But I do think its worth more than scrap value, based on my above information. Any other questions, just ask. If more info comes to mind while I sit here at work, I"ll update the "good" or the "bad" accordingly.
  15. but the way the argentina holland game was going, if there wasn't a shootout, the game STILL may be going.....
  16. Germany > Argentina. i'm calling a spread of 3 or more.
  17. 15-20 fish day? i "would" be surprised .... very surprised.
  18. they have risen a lot recently as well. i only paid 8k for my 50 hp yammy tiller with the trolling control buttons, taxes in, in 2009. now that motor is close to $10k. 25% increase in five years?
  19. although I'm 50% German background, so biased, I just don't see how Holland (if they win) is going to even compete with Germany. I just hope it is a somewhat close game....
  20. not a given anymore, folks will drive 20 minutes to save four dollars...then go back to their local shops and complain about their pricing....THAN have the nerve to ask where the fish are biting.... many folks don't give the first crap about local shops....just saving a dollar. nothing surprises me anymore...and I've seen this all FIRST HAND at my local shop. Personally, I won't spend a single dime in BPS or Cabela's, unless the item couldn't be purchased anywhere else (such as the bps raingear). Sail - yes. They are 100% Canadian.
  21. i would like to hope that if you find an item cheaper at your local shop, you purchase the item from your local shop, and not go to cabela's for a price match.
  22. great link Dave posted. remember, those numbers are in meters. the point at pier 4, where it drops off to 9m / 10m is a good spot for drum. the corner at Canada Marine Discovery Centre is also a good spot as it has good depth. i've found the big drum in the harbour stay close to deep water...
  23. i'll admit, although I've never got mixed up with drugs, many of my friends who have did so because they simply made too much money for their maturity level. unfortunately the vast majority of these folks (over 10 of them) work in power plants in this province. people in their 20's need to be careful when they're making 100K+ a year. good on ya Cliff to have a heart! I'm sorry it ended the way it did.
  24. I've only ever ran aluminum, often on big water, and if I was only fishing Simcoe (or 90% of the time like you suggest), I'd definitely strongly considered the glass boat .... for sure!
  25. if i recall correctly, mr pike were the widest lund boats for their respective length. the mr pike is now a discontinued line of boats, but were top notch - and if taken care of, likely still is.
