  1. Joey I'm glad I made this post just to read that... Very funny!!!
  2. I was cleaning the old pics off my camera tonite and came across this pic from sometime in early summer. I twisted and turned the pic to see which angle it was taken. It appears to be the proper way. Not sure why this person is horizontal. He appears like he may be a Black Russian.
  3. Snow isn't a problem here. I can drive my ATV to work!
  4. Lew's and Terry's responses pretty much sums it all up for you Kyle. I agree.

Cool looking shot Deano! By the way-Whats HDR? High definition ........?
  8. We have pondered this question as well at our camp. We take only enough to suit our needs. We like to take whatever comes out first in the first week (hopefully a fawn-real good eating at the camp). And if we have enough or close to it we impose a "buck law"-no does or fawns. It has been this way at our camp since 1943. We always seem to average 4 to 6 deer each season. We like to get a "trophy buck" but it isn't a priority. first and foremost is having a fun hunt and getting along. Our hunt crew brought home 4 bucks, 1 doe, and a fawn for our two week hunt. This will be divided among the 18 hunters that participated during the hunt. We seen mostly mature bucks during the hunt this year. Only 2 fawns were seen. This is somewhat unusual. I spoke with a retired MNR guy I know and asked him what his interpretation was. He suspects the recent high bear population is killing the fawns. I dont know if this is the case but its possible. I asked the folks at the Loring check station if the buck trend we seen was consistent with what we noticed. They told me that the proportion of bucks to does was higher.
  9. I always fish from a boat. If some idiot pulls up beside me close I just pull anchor (fuming while I do), whether I'm catching fish or not. Fortunately its a big lake with lots of fishing holes. I feel bad for those who haven't a choice.
  10. I watched Gary Leeman, Jack Valiquette and several more ex-NHLers play in North Bay tonight in an exhibition game. I think they could still outplay some of the present Leaf lineup. I have given up on the present Leaf team. I refuse to support the organization that does not give a damn about winning- only filling seats.
  11. I love the Fireline. Used it for years Walleye fishing here. I will be trying the Power Pro Gerritt left with me last summer a little more next season.
  12. Hall of shame maybe!
  13. Happy Birthday Mike!!!!!!!!
  14. My ride..... 18.5 Seaswirl and a 175 Evinrude
  15. Welcome to to board Jr.
  16. My dad married a girl like you Jen . Now if I could just get my wife to hunt with me. Loved your report.
  17. I agree Wayne. Also oil into the spark plug hole is good too but it does not coat the crankshaft and lower end bearing surfaces below the piston. Spray fogging oil into the carb as it is running to coat it best. Fogging oil is the best product to use as it does not evaporate off surfaces.
  18. My faithful buddy Hobbes. Almost 10, been a great dog. Smartest one I have ever had.
  19. I kinda like my Evinrude. It always has run well for me and is economical. 300 hrs and counting with no issues. We sell all makes of outboards and they can all have thieir problems. In the last 3 years we have had 1 powerhead failure on an E-tec and we think it may have been caused by overpropping. Nowadays all engine makes are good quality. It depends on what your needs are to what type of engine suits you best. There is much more involved in the marketing and advertising of the business that I wont get into but dont slam the Etecs too hard guys. I think they are a fine engine. Just my opinion.
  20. Wow-great stuff Gerritt. Betcha those would be great done up in a smoker too! You built that deck? Cool...HMMMMM I got this project planned for around my place next summer........................... HA HA. Glen You crack me up!

Cool section Dan. This will be interesting. Already seen some beautiful pics. Havent been on here much lately due to being at the cottage all summer and its not easy being on dial up here. Once I move back home I will be on more. Anyway just thought I would share this one I took from inside the boathouse on a rainy day.
  22. Low tech boats can catch just as many fish! I like the cedar boats for the space and they tend to be a little better to work with on windy days. And the seats are not as cold on cool days and not as hot on hot days. Of course I'm a little biased .
  23. Looking forward to this happening Dan. Great idea. Thanks!
  24. Who are those guys Roy? Nice pics!
  25. I think that I mentioned this point before but in my opinion the engine isnt worth fixing up unless you want a collectors item. They are especially hard on fuel, not environmentally friendly, most were difficult to rope start and the used parts you may locate to turn it into a tiller will likely be well worn. There is a reason some mechanics dont want to touch them. They can consume time that most honest techs dont have the heart to charge you for and being old there is always something else to break. Do you really want to take the chance that it will restart if you are out in the middle of the lake? Just an opinion from a guy thats used them in the past.
