  1. You're welcome. Music of course is not only a matter of personal taste but like a living thing able to change it's mood (for me at least) from moment to moment and at this moment it's.....
  2. Telling us reel make and model # would certainly help in answering your questions.
  3. I disagree, 35 years I've fished that lake with whitefish a main target and I totally disagree with your statement Bill. Colour variations and size have nothing to do with the stocked vs. natural population.
  4. Yep, adipose clip. So it's not just me....LOL Congratuations Young One, they are yummy, no doubt about it.
  5. That's outstanding Pete, a hearty congratulations. I've no doubt you'll do just fine!
  6. Geez, quite an opinion for an occasional forum member who's best contribution to this forum has been spamming the classifieds with Japanese lures. For what it's worth I've never owned anything you promote and do quite well without them, thank you.
  7. All right, educate me please. What happens to all of the non desirable/marketable species that are taken in the gill nets?
  8. Well when I posted this..... ....it was what I was listening too.
  9. They don't stock bass or perch in Simcoe as you well know and the perch fishery is hammered year round but continues to hold up to the most angler pressured lake in the province. Mind you they don't net them either. The Lakers and Whitefish are stocked due to the eutrophication of the lake and loss of suitable spawining grounds, not because of fishing pressure. Eutrophication is obviously a man made issue but the Lake Trout and Whitefish are starting to show signs of natural recovery due in part to the reduction of phosphorus loading, but of course there is no netting. A moratorium on Herring as shown a vast improvement of their numbers as well, but then again they're not netted. Nipissing could be a world class fishery and guided charters along with local tourist oriented business' could bring in vast sums of money for all commercial business in the area, netting only brings in money for a select few and of course selective harvest along with catch and release can't be applied to gill nets!
  10. With a CP it depends on the caster and his style I would think. But IMHO a 5 gram is about as light as I'd want to be fishing with a bait caster.
  11. Sure, why not. I've tossed a 4 gram on my Calcutta Mike and when we were out on the "Geen" I was tossing a 5 gram with no issues.
  12. That there is the way any/every parent should deal with an errant child. That story will keep me smiling all day Cliff.
  13. Because there's 5 Saturdays in April this year Roy, trout season, which opens the 4th Sat. in April is a week early this year.
  14. Seriously, get laid back, ear buds in and focus out....drift! It's 40 years old and yet not old at all! Yes I know I already posted it.
  15. Hi Sean. I fished all those creeks too as a 14 year old but alas that was way to many years ago now. Welcome aboard, I hope you find your stay enjoyable.
  16. Finish ChrisK's new flyrod, start a couple of new rod builds and drink a few cold ones.
  17. I believe Lew's point is simply a message to all those who think the general forum is a place to post/announce your concerns/complaints and gripes, it's not! Or more to the point, if Lew used the "report button" the message he's sending wouldn't reach the target audience.
  18. Exactly, and Lakers in my experience can do it rather quickly. I've had them chase my jigging spoons up out of 100 plus feet of water into less than 20 feet reeling as fast I could for a lure change. Quite an eye opener and now a standard in my on ice and open water tactics for vertical jigging.
