Spinnerbaits if you need to stop the baits let it flutter then restart & Suspended Jerkbaits with some dead time as well try orange bottom, I wouldn't be fishing the Dam end, shore lines around the camp on both sides of the river & above the Bridge usually work for us around the derby time, a buddy came in 2nd back a few years ago using a in line spinner Mepps up river from the bridge. Bruce Power LHFC Partnership Video of the evening
spinnerbaitking replied to spinnerbaitking's topic in General Discussion
The donation started out at $12,000.00 to help us expand our School Salmon Hatchery Program & they added another $8,000.00 for 2013 to help out with other projects & has committed to $20,000.00 for 2014 & 2015 as we take time to build our Partnership & see what works for LHFC & Bruce Power, every Business & Corporation has some kind of impact on the surrounding Environment & Community with Pro's & Con's, there is a lot of rules, regulation & policies in place for them to follow as well as any other Business & Corporation, they didn't have to do this & we are looking forward to building on what we started. There was 98 People at the Meeting Announcement & yes the meal was very good & something they offered as we only have a Dinner meeting for Christmas. Tight Lines SBK -

You know you have a great partnership with a company when 2 of the Directors show up to be part of the Salmon Release with hip waders & have as much fun as the Students, almost every fish had a name. Another year is coming to an end our 1st 2 Schools have released their/our Salmon & had a Trout Hatchery tour as well as a Kincardine Light House Tour that our Hatchery Manager set up for after they were done with the Salmon Release & Trout Hatchery Tour, Rotary Park had the Washrooms open & Picnic tables out for the Students to use for their Lunch Break also, it was a little bit wet out but it really didn't matter to anyone as that can be a big part of Fishing. 8 more Schools to go & then the Clean up of all the Equipment starts, Time to go fishing soon lol. Donating tackle to youth groups
spinnerbaitking replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
The Lake Huron Fishing Club set up the Library share program in Bruce County & I believe they have a limited amount of tackle with rods that they lend out, if people had Tackle, Line I know it would be used & appreciated, there are a few hooks, sinkers, bobbers, a couple smaller cheaper lures & a bit of plastic, I'm on the Executive but not in charge of this program Tight Lines SBK -
We have just received the final copy of the Documentary made by Bruce Telcom/Wightman Telecommunications. Past President Al Wilkins talks about the Club & our Trout Hatchery, there is video of the School Salmon Hatchery Program, Sorting & Counting Rainbows, Brown Trout Release, Classroom Presentation, Garry Biederman talks about the Salmon Hatchery with a tour & even a bit of fishing out of Port Elgin. Guess what, I heard this morning the MNR pulled a Gill Net out of the Saugeen River just up from the Boat Launch, I hope this is wrong or if it's right they have witnesses that saw them being placed. This could get very nasty SBK

What do you do when you come across a bad car crash? - NF
spinnerbaitking replied to NAW's topic in General Discussion
Stopped quite a few times & would do it again in a second, have had 1st aid & CPR several times & would advice everybody to take it, you never know when or were you could use it, try to always have a 1st aid kit & blankets in my vehicles, never seen anything crazy but a couple of rolled cars & we were leaving Blyth & a car was flying down the main street going north, witnesses said it was doing between 100 & 120km/hr in town, we had the car pass us with the brakes locked up & the tires screaming I didn't see it I just turned to my right off the road & it hit a car turning left 2 cars in front of us, the car in front of us just swerved around them & kept going, 3 adults in the 1 car had concussions, broken collar bone, shock, the other car hit them & traveled down the snow bank for quite the distance, a neighbor hollered what do we need & I said call 911 & request the fire department as they didn't always dispatch them in our part of the province, a nurse was about 4 car behind us & 1 was 4 blocks away & saw the car flying threw town & heard the crash, there were 7 calls to 911 already from people that this guy had passed from Vanastra to Blyth & some of them came onto the accident, 1 man was very upset & started threatening the driver, by now the Nurses had taken over the injured & I had control of the scene (Traffic & Bystanders) I told the guy to cross the street or he'd wish he did, Fire Department arrived shortly after, then the EMS arrived & then the OPP, the Guy who was so mad went to the OPP & was told to go across the road & wait & he would talk to him when he could, 7 of us ended up at court & waited for hours to finally be told that they had a plea bargain & the driver was schizophrenic & had been hospitalized & lost his licence for life. Always Rural area that I've been involved with accidents. Kudos to all that have stopped Tight Lines SBK PS: You need to make the decision you can live with.
