  1. The custodians are in for the 1st week & are willing to help, I'll be filling in on the weekends & the 2nd week of the break, the eggs aren't all absorbed yet but I think we'll be feeding by Sunday or Monday, they are trying to swim off the bottom & I guess that's when you start feeding Richard

  5. A few years ago a couple of buddies & I were looking to buy a suit & most people we talked to said if it's cold enough to wear a survival suit, 1/2 a suit won't do & I like my back warm, I would think there's a better chance of air getting in My 2 cents Richard
  6. 85 is way too hot for this time of year, but Trout & Bass fishing sure sounds good, keep the Reports coming Richard

  10. I don't go for super deals because there usually aren't many if any at any of the shows any more, but I like the seminars at all of them, I've been involved with the Kids Archery booth, OBF Casting Kids booth, Bruce Leeson's Casting booth at the Sportsman Show for many years, took Boy Scouts there for years when I was a Leader lots of variety for them, more recently I've been helping with the CBAF Booth at the Spring Fishing Show the last 2 years & BPS Spring Classic CBAF Booth last year, its great to meet all the people that come by & talk to them about fishing, my Daughter loves the Sportsman Show even at 25 & my Grand Daughter was 3 last year & really enjoyed the Sportsman Show, I had her there for most of the day, I didn't like the North & South Building split, just to far away My 2 Cents Richard

  21. OK yesterday we thought it was a fluke Darcy catching his Rainbow on a Tube, then Randy & I go out today, water is a lot better we can see bottom in about 6' to 7' & there is shad every were 4" to 18 or 20", Bass are like balloons & they are not interested in a drop shot with Slammers, Zeros, Gulp Minnows or finesse worms, Randy gets one Smallie on a Tube so we stick with that, drifting the channel casting up & bringing it back to the boat, at the boat we brought it in & cast again, I bring the tube back bouncing on the bottom watching for it to come back & half way up we see this Rainbow coming straight up after it I drop the tube back down, the Rainbow does a big roll & back down not seeing my tube I set the hook & the fight was on, I won the battle, a nice 29 1/2 " 8.7 lbs, about an hour later Randy says fish on & it's another Rainbow on a tube, I grab the cradle & it takes another run Randy tightened up his drag & away it went, Randy loses, he's still not sure why he tightened his drag but it cost him the fish. Not very successful end of the season Bass trip but we are happy we caught a couple of Rainbows maybe my fishing isn't done for the year yet Richard
  22. Water was dirty, 61.5 degrees and fishing was slow, tried swimbaits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, drop shot and then we caught 4 Smallies on tubes 2 lbs maybe, Darcy felt something set the hook and foul hooked a gizzard shad in the back fin some how, drifting in the faster outflow & Darcy's rod jumped, set the hook, says fish on get the net it's a good one & as I turned around I see this 24" 5.5lb Rainbow on a Chompers Tube sprayed with Garlic, a real nice end to his season he doesn't think he'll get out again, I'm heading back out today, see what we can catch.
