  2. soo guesses on this scale? im thinkin a drum, carp scales look different. (thats a quarter, kinda looks like a nickle.) That scale is from a mirror carp. Daniel
  3. Soldiers Bay on queensville rd, is the best place to catch carp and it's probably the closest place near Barrie right now. I fish that swim alot, right now you can use bottom baits as there are little weeds. When the weeds come in strong use a piece of foam to make your bait pop up and a split shot about 3 in from the hook. I usaually use pop up rigs all the time there and make a killing from end of April to end of August. Hope this helps, Daniel P.S. The sizes range from 1lb - 8lbs. Nothing Big
  4. What CAOS!!! I an't touching this with a 10' pole.
  5. Thank God. Thanx, Daniel
  6. Is it true that all boats this year have to have a VHF radio? I was told this the other day, I was puzzled. Daniel
  7. I just use them to quickly cover water, if I get a bump, I throw in a dinger/senko/stick-o and that usally works. I use a baitcaster set up 6'6" med-heavy and braid. Remember that all rods are not equal, if it says med-heavy doesn't mean they act the same. You want a little whip from the tip and a backbone that will rip the bass out of cover. Colour, I stick to white (favorite), dandem blades, silver and gold. Depends where I'm fishing, I like to bulk up the bait with a grub or even a 5" senko, with the tail cut for some extra, action on the hook. Ideal time, when ever you get a chance! Daniel
  8. Thats the one I put in mine Daniel
  9. Photoz, I had the same thing happen to my MMX, I went to Sayal elec. picked the part up and replaced it my self. I have two mx's that I use, one of the led's died, when to sayal and replaced it. Yes there are alarms that can be fixed and replacaed in the U.S., but they are no as good as the higher end. Don't talk down on delkim, nash, DAM/okuma(merged) they have great customer service, and it is done right. For the price of a MMX now, you can just replace it, I think I have seen them on ebay.co.uk for 25 pounds. Yes euro style carp items are expensive and mostly for show, but when you have carp fever......... But yes your right very expensive, Ive got close to $15,000-$20,000 in carp equipment and tackle, not counting the stuff I don't use. IMO pleople buy $500 bass rods, and snap them the first time out. Musky guy's, I've seen baits for $300, thats like gambling, cut off, bye bye $300. Don't let me start with floaters and fly fishing. Part's on the board are cheap, it's the work, testing, assembly, engineering, weather proofing, etc..... I am not disagreeing with you in any way, but evey fisherman has to bite the bullet at one time or another. JMHO Daniel
  10. I just got back from a bass farm, I think you will be ok. I had my licence, but you don't even need that. I know a quarry owner that has loads of bass, we are going Sat. I don't think you can put laws on stocked ponds, how about trout farms. Dude you will be ok to fish there. Daniel
  11. Hamilton bay. We catch all sizes while carp fishing with sweet corn, field corn ar boilies. But hot dog work best in Hammie.
  12. Perca? Some info on the fish http://www.britannica.com/eb/topic-451101/perch
  13. EDIT: Fantasy world if OFC. Carp is a sportfish, look up on the forum "Carp a sportfish?"
  14. Funny you post this question. I have an ex friend that goes for pike (he says) in shallows, with a spinnerbait, cranks, all the lures that "would" catch pike. As he is targeting pike(ya!), he hammers the OOS Bass. But he is targeting PIKE. He has been stopped many times and he tells the CO he is going for PIKE and gets off. Please answer this one. Like I said EX FRIEND. Daniel OCH
  15. Angling Specialties on HWY 7
  16. I was talking to a bass pro from Florida. Apparently the WD40 gives bass the lock jaw and don't let go of the bait, so they banned it from tourneys. Daniel OCH
  17. Ya, I have a flexable career. Sponsered by a few shops helps. Most of the time I am fishing, I am really woking. To add to that, no wife or kids (wouldn't have time for that), just married to fishing and the job. No don't have a place on the water but have a few places in Hamilton to fish and test carp gear. If Im ever lucky to get married and have kids , than the 203 days will be 50 or so.LOL Daniel OCH
  18. I did the same thing with my PDA and last year with no ice fishing. I fished 203 days open water. If I did ice fish it would be more. Haven't check yet for 2008. Fish Hard!! Daniel OCH
  19. I was at Fishing sports on Friday Sheppard and Wilson Hights, Gleb has them, they are called match leads/weights for light tackle match fishing for carp. These leads are cheap too. Well I tried, Daniel OCH
  20. There is a little shop called Fishing Sports. It is on Sheppard, east of Wilson Hights on the left side. There is a yellow fish on a blue sign. He has thousands of these types of sinkers, Tell him Daniel sent you. Fish Ontario has a few, Fish online Canada had them a while back, There around you have to look. Fishing sports has them for sure. Daniel OCH
  21. All I have to say is "BENCHMADE". Awsome knives.
  22. It doesn't bother me, and I live with it, people have thier own ways, I don't cry about. If this bothers you so much, and it does because you posted it here, do something about it, ask them to keep it down, I am sure they will understand. I would understand if you asked me to keep my curseing to a min. Daniel OCH
  23. There was a video posted here of a bunch of kids catching a catfish with a r/c boat. One question that was asked, was is it illegal and many said yes. My question is, why does Trombley's in Orillia sell a R/C fishing boat and yes there is a pic of a kid fishing with it and there is a place to attach the line and to top it all off an employee said it was legal. I'm confused, I thought that was totally illegal:wallbash: Daniel OCH
