Damn, someone out there on my side!! OCH is looking for serious carp anglers.
-
"Do you tell your family you start with driving a hook into its mouth, pulling it around the water for 15 minutes, ripping the hook out of its mouth with a pair of pliers, and than I let it go cus I wouldnt want to see any harm come to it P.S. on a serious note to this carping nonsense, do you throw gobies back when you catch them or do you kill them to rot on shore, as much as some hate to hear it a lot of true sportsmen put gobies and carp in the same catagory" Last I checked carp is not classed as a sportfish in Canada, so again save a sport fish and kill a carp Soon, I do have some power on my side. Paperworks is ready for approval. Then we can put this Bull behind us. The carp will be a registered sports fish. Come hell or high water!! Daniel OCH
-
Not bashing, just my opinion/views. No apriciation for the sport of Carp fishing. Ya, lets kill them all. LOL. Try catching 42# Common, look it in the eyes, and let is rot on the bank. Then go tell your family you let a living thing die/rot for no reason, just because you dont like them. LOL What a great sport fishing attitude. LOL Terry is 100% right. PHOTOZ get in on this. LOL Daniel Real sport fisherman OCH

I was given a carrot casting rod last year. It is a Medium, sensetivity is decent, but not great. It handles the fish ok. I rather stick to Fenwick, Shimano, St. Croix. The Carrot rod is now in my rod collection. I guess it was worth a try, but carrots? My review, Daniel OCH

Ok I jimmy rigged an cheap dramel tool as you did SkelzWoods. Where is the best palce to get the basla dowel? and what do you use for paint, acrylic or enamel? Thanx, Daniel OCH
-
SkelzWoods Very impressive floats. If you don't mind, I just need to know what you use to turn them, eg. lathe? Then I know I will figure it out, by screwing a couple floats up. Also where do you get your balsa wood from, and the tube for the slip floats? Thanx in advance, Daniel OCH
-
No one makes floats, or knows any good sites. Click thing ehh. Oh well, Daniel OCH
-
What is the exact location, I will check it out for you. LOL Dip net, best idea!! Daniel OCH

Thanks for the advise, but I don't reel against my drag. But I did figure out the problem, the shot. So I changed to a finesse weight that slides freely, never had a problem yet. Ya, I learned my lesson by reeling against my drag when I first has a rod in my hand, 6 years old, since then the handle is to pick up the slack. Thanks for all the advice I god for all the members out there. Daniel OCH

As the water will be freezing soon I need something to pass the time. I want to make some floats? I am going to use balsa wood, and I need to jimmy rig a lathe<< (help on this one), paint and gloss<<(suggestions). If I am missing something please post it. Thanx in advance, Daniel OCH

What is with Shimano and their pricing in Canada?
bassjnkie replied to Canuck2fan's topic in General Discussion
LeBaron is even cheaper than Bass Pro in Vaughan. -
Go to JB's, Croix's have a good warranty.

Ok, IMHO there is nothing wrong with using cheapo line to start off with. Now I only use 50# PP on two of my baitcasters and 14# PP on the other 2. When I started out I bought the cheapest line I could find since I new I was going to backlash alot. The only problem with a thicker line is casting distance. I say go for it, its a learning experiance or trial and error. Hope this helps, Daniel OCH

I have a 50 4 stroke. I want to add a tac and a tilt gauge. How is this done? Thanx, Daniel OCH

A couple goes on vacation to a fishing resort in northern Minnesota. The husband likes to fish at the crack of dawn. The wife likes to read. One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a short nap. Although she isn't familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and continues to read her book. Along comes the game warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside her and says,"Good morning, Ma'am, what are you doing?" "Reading my book," she replies, thinking isn't that obvious? "You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her. "But officer, I'm not fishing. Can't you see that?" "Yes, but you have all the equipment. I'll have to take you in and write you up." "If you do that, I'll have to charge you with rape," says the woman. "But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden. "That's true, but you do have all the equipment." MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. Oh Ya, I have that line spooler, never tried it. Does it work well
-
Thank guys, I read all the posts and put a list of things to check and try. Thanx, Daniel OCH

They were spooled by fishing depot, so I know the line is on right. I am getting a major twist when reeling in. Should I try another mono, what do you recomend for brand in 8# light action reels.
-
I am getting so fustrated . Here it goes. I have 3 light action setup that are doing the same thing. I have 2 sedonas 1500 and an ultralight abu reel. I use these for panfish. I have 8# PP on the sedonas, and 8# mono on the abu, then have my slip bobber stop, a bead, small slip bobber, then 1/8oz sliding finesse weight, to a blackbird swivel on 2 rods and ballbearing swivel on the other, to 4# flouro leader, with a 1/64oz jighead. The twists bother me, because the line tangles in the reel and I have to strip some line and retie. This is fresh line on these reels. Please help, replacing line all the time is to $$$$$. Thanks, Daniel

I am heading out to do some perch/crappie fishing on Sat. off shore. Question is, hows the bite in Keswick/Jacksons point/BB/ swing bridge? If someone answers this, THANX! Daniel OCH
-
The Natives have no regs anywhere, the can shoot/fish anything and anytime. Friend is MNR officer.
-
I haven't been to the grand in many years. I used to go to the river under a huge bridge for carp and cats. All I remember is that I have to go 401 west. Can someone PM me if they think they know the place? I think the bridge is green. My dad used to take me there as a kid. Thanks in advance, Daniel

Braided or Non-Braided Line when river fishing Salmon
bassjnkie replied to a topic in General Discussion
Dude looks like you catching on whatever line and hook your using. If I listened to every person out there, i would probably have to get a morgage. Neon hooks, has to be mustad. It's up to you. "If it ain't broke don't fix it!" Fishing is trial and error. By the way I use braid on everything (with flouro leader of course), except my pin and love it. Daniel OCH
