Local service group polluting
whitbyboatguy replied to SRT8 smoker craft's topic in General Discussion
They knew they were doing bad because they used the pontoon boat to "stop" the bad. I can't see how it is reasonable for them to think that the pontoon boat was an acceptable solution. They must have thought you were stupid. They certainly did not think they had to take you seriously. Did they have a permit to paint it? The city/region might be able to do something about it too (fine?). What "that" is I don't know. Can the damage be undone? -

ha haaaaaa rules are rules! that's right 2nd place should suck but at least they get 2nd place bragging rights. I would have been fired. 1st prize a cadiilac. 2nd prize a set of steak knives. 3rd prize you are fired. <---Glenn Garry Glenn Ross -
The catcher won't say where he caught, how he caught it or anything of the sort. He told a lot of fish stories about the circumstances but I can't blame him for that....who wants to have a hot spot put in the paper? The speculation is that it is a farm fish just like those rainbow records caught last year. Not a fair comparison to wild fish. Still a big fish for a farm though.

Very important event October 16th!
whitbyboatguy replied to Rattletrap2's topic in General Discussion
???What windfall are you talking about??? Are you talking about the farmers that sold their land OR are you talking about the one time winfall/cash out for selling out future generations? Because that is basically what the government did and if the land sellers knew about it that is what they did too. It is an ecologically important piece of geology. The limestone filters the water before it makes its way back to the stream/lake/drinking well. So what windfall are you talking about? -
I was looking at the lures and noticed things about the Bluegill and Sunfish lures. Firstly, they look pretty well the same to me. It is a reaction bait so why not just fish one of them instead of buying two? The lipless versions have faded colors. Is there a fishing reason for that?

You forgot a category: I think I am going to sell my fl8 vex this year and trade up...... to a Hero video camera for use in this fall or next spring. I have determined that ice fishing sucks. -
KIDS AND FAMILY FISHING TOMORROW!
whitbyboatguy replied to The Urban Fisherman's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for setting up the fishing day Urban Fishman and FOF volunteers. We stepped out of the free stuff line so we could start fishing earlier and get a comfortable fishing spot. We caught gobbies (they are good for something after all!). It was hard to kill them with all the kids around though. Did anyone catch anything decent? I figure all of those fish kidnapped from the lakes buried themselves in the weeds on a chilly day like today. I did see a lot of perch and gobbies! There is no way my 3 year old was going to find any use for a Live Target Lure so it would have ended up in my tackle box. ?What was the Live Target give away? -
hmmmmm numm numms. < notice the turtle eyeing those figners? almost unlucky for you too. You would might have ended up being Dave's personal line tier for life.

Barbs for single hooks here. There are a few occasions where I wish the hook would come out easier but not too many at all.
-
that is a good idea. I wear mine when I am solo for sure but am too loaded up with fishing gear. A whistle and the blanket (does that work in water?) are a good idea. Whistle is a great idea actually. IDK what a tiny flashlight would do.
-
I was defending the thread. At least I learned that if I catch 100 perch there will be a filleting alternative.
-
if there can be 37 posts on "anyone else smell that..." there can be 34 on a fish skinner or and 42 about a potato that looks like a rock.

should the transom be fully on the bunks?

hillside camp It is on the water and October will be a slow season for them (IDK about duck hunting season) so you can ask or get a discount.

There is always a chance but I read that the search was called off and he has been missing for almost 3 days. Lake Ontario is a cold lake even in the hot summer and can claim even the most skilled and prepared. There is always a chance that he does not want to be found. It has been done before.
-
If you keep talking about the fish skinner I am going to start thinking I need one when I know it is a useful as 1/2 the lures in my tackle bag!
-
OK. I am going to give one of those spring ones a shot but will put a string on it so I can manually keep it up for reverse (save the laughter : )). A happy troller would be nicer but I wont be able to get one locally quickly or cheaply. have access to $60 spring loaded one. Drilling 4 mounting holes in the motor and it will be over. Like tearing off a band-aid drilling the holes will hurt when I do it. I have to drill holes for a plate right?
-
How about weeds on the trolling plate? Do they become a problem when it is up?
-
60HP and getting 3mph -i tried using my drift socks but it was a total pain and it felt like they would break any minute. -mounted trolling plates would be good but cost dollars. may as well bring extra batteries for the electric looking for 1.5mph and less
-
I need a trolling plate sometimes and I think there are times when I definitely do not want a trolling plate. So lets say that in the morning I want to troll but in the afternoons I want to switch it up and fish slop and weeds with frog. Wouldn't a trolling plate be a weed magnet? Is there one that comes off easily?

haha...I was quoting the guy on you tube. Yes, he does things differently! At least you are propping up the Quebec brand. Do you know that guy?
-
Is that the same thing this guy is using in his "original" way to fillet his fish? Fillet a fish? <-guy is from Quebec, coincidence? I think not. I think the reason you can only find it in Quebec is that they have to do things different. Why not leave a bit of the tail attached and run your knife along the underside of the skin when the skin is lying on the counter?
