  1. not sure if anyone metioned but bring some spider wire (used for tying roe bags) if your using shrimp wrap it around several times, can save your bait from all the little my mom hates me that nibble away down there
  2. Always make sure that I approach my favourite spot with metallica cranked. Then I park and leave the doors open for 10 minutes with the music cranked to scare any bears away. Seems to work, caught a few fish and never been eatin!
  3. Stayed at Idle times also. Had a blast and great service. Operators were around every few hours to double check on bait and to re drill holes. Lots of perch last time, a few walleye. Highly recommended!
  4. It was absolutly discusting down there. The last time I went I counted over 50 salmon with the bellies slit. There was fish scraps thrown everywhere after filleting them and I even counted over 25 heads with no bodies....Oh ya, and lots of kids with giant treble hook lures.
  5. Been many times. As said before, talk to the chef. You can usually get a bag of UNCOOKED shrimp for 5 bucks. Best thing to bring is spider wire to tie the shrimp to your hook. I usually bring 2 telescopic rods(heavy), a few crank baits and lots of hooks and sinkers. Braid line is a must and locals appreciate it as a tip. Cayo Guillermo has many great opportunities but find a bridge and drop a line. Have a great time!!
  6. I think that is one of 3 pieces of crap from the Halifax Harbour that don't work.
  7. I fish both. I'm suprised how long they last being thawed, then frozen, thawed then frozen... Fish in the midland area love pink roe bags, must be the water colour.
  8. Tie a few containers of uncured bags. I've caught 90% of my fish in the last 3 years on these. Worth a shot if you have a belly full!
  9. I travelled Nova Scotia for 3 months this spring for work and fishing. Wherever the Osprey's were, the fish were. My favourite fishing hole I snapped this pic of one flying away with a sea trout. The bugger watched my land an Atlantic Salmon and I was scared for my life! Heres a pic
  10. Wade was the only reason I kept the leafs game on the tv. But, if I was scheduled to be on battle of the blades, (hockey players prancing around figuire skating if you don't know the show) I would probably do the same thing!
  11. Had no luck a few years back. Deep crystal clear water. My wife caught the only fish, small mouth, go figuire! Best of luck to you.
  12. I was in Nova Scotia for 4 months for work and at Tim Hortons there, your expected to tip. They leave pennies and other change all over the counters to show how much they're hauling in. I wouldn't leave a cent because it's the same old lousy service you get here in Ontario. People would buy a 1.39 coffee and leave a buck! Unreal! I might tip if they got rid of those god awful flat ass pants and funny lookin hairnets though.
  13. I've seen the Banjo Minnow advertised for years and was wondering if anyone has ever purchased the kit. Contiplating the purchase. Any suggestions????
  14. Im sure we could round up 9 Cubans and save them the trip. Baseballs baseball. I played rep all through ball and never did we travel outside of Ontario. Pay for our kids to go to Cuba...... well mom and dad drink umbrella drinks for a week. My parents would even stop at McDonald's on the odd trip, sounds like the Dr. would stop at Red Lobster with the team after every game. My opinion, get off your butts and earn it!!
  15. What were you using for bait? Dynamite? Nice catch!!!
  16. Watch your depth, last year i was trolling in 45-50 feet and ended up on a dang sand bar!
  17. thanks guys, im missing all my fishing on georgian bay in midland, time for a change i guess!
  18. Hi guys, i'm new to burlington and I'm looking for a few new places to fish. Is there anything decent at this time of year? thanks for your help.
