  1. I have a friend that is 90 year old and we were talking about this very subject on Friday. He said he only uses 10W30 motor oil and has never had any problems with any of his 2 strokes. I was shocked at first but then could only comment that obviously using 10W30 has stood the test of time.
  2. those whitefish sure are tasty
  3. Hey Terry, how is that iceducer working out for your HDS5?
  4. I am thankful my parents enrolled me into martial arts and that my son has the same advantage.
  5. At this time of the year try any shoal, fish the top of the shoal before 10am and the bottom of the shoal between 10am and 2pm then back to the top of the shoal after 2pm. There are plenty of shoals on the west side of the lake.
  6. For Lakers and Whitefish I use braid with a floro leader open air in - whatever degrees. For perch no braid but use 2lb florocarbon. Trick with braid is to run your line over a block of beeswax and you are good to go.
  7. I strongly disagree with your comments especially since you are the site owner. They are too laid back, we need strong action now or say goodbye to the sport of fishing in hundreds if not thousands of lakes, in fact say goodbye to boating in these lake all together. If this fish gets into the great lakes then all lakes connected including the entire trent severn waterway, Saint Lawrence River and other waterways connected will be full of these Asian Carp and little else. I highly doubt the individual solution of " Write your elected officials, knock on their door, telephone them...ask them where they stand and what they plan on doing about it. Tell them that you want and are waiting for their answer. " will be of any help on its own as individual efforts. We will need petitions, demonstrations general public outrage and State Governments willing to take a legal stand to get this done. Every individual course of action will make little difference on their own but the masses of courses of action from different angles will. It's time to fight for our fishery because our childrens fishing future rests in the outcome of the action we take. Any action against this threat is a positive thing and every action will build on other actions, whether it be internet petitions, individual government letters, demonstrations or state legal proceedings etc.. We need to stand together and conquer this threat. We need to do everything we can to make the Powers that be understand that this threat needs to be acted upon now. I like the way this poster said it. "The purpose of the e-petition is to get the word out, collect signatures & comments. If you read the directions for getting the most out of the effort, you'll find it is highly recomended for the author to print it off, edit out the Bull comments then mail it to whomever your trying to pursuade. All of the petition signatures can readily be copied into excel by the author. As for communicating it, if addressed to the DEC, for example, you shouldn't just send it to the commissioner. Rather, mail a copy to him, another to his assistant comissioner, individual copies to his staff, copies to the various regions affected and to sportsmen orgs, etc. This does get replies & if you want, and you should, you can follow it up with phone calls. You don't have to be the author to print off the petition. (only to edit it)"
  8. Please post once you have signed to keep this thread bumped. http://www.gopetition.com/online/33175.html
  9. I've owned a dry suit undergarment for over 20 years and would never part with it.
  10. I've heard so many horror stories about this particular boat and dealer.
  11. It is supposed to be a non event in London
  12. You know the depth and the beam angle so laws of geometry apply
  13. 20 degree beam covers 20 feet at 60 feet of depth.
  14. One of these HDS radar/fishfinder/mapping units that even tells you weather and barometer. I think one might be under the tree
  15. find a starcraft fishmaster and you won't be sorry http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-b...QAdIdZ166696524 here is a super steal http://up.craigslist.org/boa/1485054831.html
  16. I just checked the specs on a 787 and they show the cone angle at -10db which is way outside of the industry standard of -3db. In other words they are trying to make their fishfinder appear to have a wider cone angle, very suspect. It is likely the 4000 Watts P2P is on the 83khz and not the 200khz side. So given this information I could see how a marcum would mess with this humminbird unit.
  17. That's interesting because it means that either yours has greater then 2000W of power or the Humminbird is less then 4000W of power. At 4000W the element would have to be 2" because a 1" element could not handle that kind of power at least not for long. If the humminbird has a 18 degree cone then it cannot be 4000W of power. You may have opened up a can of worms here.
  18. It seems that flashers are the way to go for ice fishing but LCD is better for year round fishing. Now if you had a 600W RMS lcd unit then the marcum unit would be all screwed up since the power output is more then 2X. On that note if you want to fish alone then my suggestion is to get a 1000W RMS unit and you won't have to worry about anyone fishing anywhere near you...LOL
  19. This issue comes up every year. For those that have a LCD unit and want an iceducer we can make them for any sonar unit. Send me a PM. Your cost will be $60 plus shipping. We will need to know make, model and what cone angle you want. Matthew
  20. When I lived in Northern Ontario there was a lady that was killed and half eaten by wolves when she was discovered by a passing logging truck.
  21. I should have been more clear I have 3 separate patents that are for USA and Canada. You have 1 year after the patent has been published to patent in other countries. You do not need a patent to talk to companies to raise funds or develop partnerships a non-disclosure agreement is sufficient. That being said you may want to register a provisional patent with the Canadian and US patent offices. This will give you protection without a large cash outlay, you can do it yourself and you are not writing down claims at this point in time, claims are added when you finalize the patent. That being said any new ideas added to the finalization will be dated at the time the new ideas are registered. In your case where funds are limited spend the $100 and file a provisional patent. Use a NDA with anyone you talk about concerning the invention. Find someone that is willing to fund your idea (the best candidate would be the company that will be most impacted when your product comes to market). In the past 2 years our company has brought 3 products to market and 2010 we have 8 more products scheduled. Let me know by PM if help is required. Matthew
