  1. I own 3 patents and can tell you that most companies will not infringe on your patent and if they do then you should welcome suing. When a company infringes on your patent you are entitled to all of their gross profits without doing the work so consider the expense of suing far less expensive then your costs of marketing, the bonus is you get customers who may not have given you the time of day previously. Patent costs begin at $10,000, $5000 for the provisional and $5000 for the full patent application, it is very unlikely that a patent lawyer will partner with you. More complicated patents cost more, do not do this yourself! If you share your information with anyone then you must have them sign a non disclosure agreement. Not signing a non disclosure agreement means the information is now public and is not patentable. You should sign a non disclosure agreement for your friends sake.
  2. A shotgun mic will help with your sound issues.
  3. They could simply test the fish, for example, in tournaments fish are tested to make sure they were caught in Lake Huron(tournament location) and not caught in Lake Ontario and then transported.
  4. Hey Richyb, ya we were using torpedo's but we were also using other tools to create the right group dynamic in our spread. The key to successful fishing is to create a spread that causes the fish to come looking for you instead of you looking for the fish and then give the fish natural offerings, the Torpedo Divers give the opportunity for the natural offerings. As one friend said, " the fish are congregating and following our spread"
  5. Swordfish, there are always going to be those that sit at their computer wanting to stir the pot or perhaps try and read into things and then stir the pot (not talking about Swordfish) . Maybe they just need to get out and fish and spend less time on the computer. In regards to post about limits in the freezer, it is true that you can only keep your limit of a species that was caught in the province or state you reside in. In this case the fish were caught in another country whereby the lake has no part connecting to Ontario so I am pretty sure Ontario limits do not apply. That being said I don't plan on fishing salmon or trout until next spring and it is highly likely my freezer will be void of fish by that time. Fishing in a foreign country, as well as being morally wrong, you would have to be really really stupid to keep or even think of keeping in excess of your legal limit.
  6. Nope, my portion of the fish are now in vacuum sealed packages in the freezer. We'll eat them all winter. Now if someone wasted them then that would be wrong. Sorry but I'm not a veggy.
  7. We did have a few accidental live releases but you can't filet them all, that's why they call it fishing and not catching I guess.
  8. Surface temp was 50 degrees While we were cleaning the ones on the floor we kept catching fish. 5 more decided they didn't like the water and were introduced to the filet knife.
  9. Took a trip to the blue zone yesterday, caught 4 species, Chinook, Browns, Rainbow and Lakers. 24 fish in all.
  10. Mickey Mouse boots are the best I have ever owned. You don't need any special socks and most times you won't want to tie them up. When you take your foot out the boot is steaming. The insoles are completely rubber coated so there are no insoles to maintain and your foot is over 1.5" off the ground. Hex screws for traction are not an issue. Put this same post on the Michigan Sportsman site and guaranteed most will say Mickey Mouse boots. US Army boots made for the Arctic conditions and made in Canada by Bata. Warning, make sure the temp is -5 or colder or your feet will be uncomfortably hot. Here is a google link on Mickey Mouse Boots http://www.google.ca/search?q=mickey+mouse...lient=firefox-a
  11. I heard Marcum has gone belly up. Which would explain why their phone number doesn't work.
  12. This "new" lowrance technology has been around for over 20 years. Notice in the video how calm the water is, which is necessary for narrow beams. If the water has any bounce to it the side scan will be useless.
  13. I have friends in Port Elgin. Heard the fishing has been improving, is this true?
  14. He certainly loves to fish, today at breakfast he looked out the window and said " Dad I think it's too windy today" put a smile on my face that he is looking for a good day to be on the water How have you been gbfisher? It has been an off year for Erie but this recent heat has changed that.
  15. Fishing has been hot the past couple of days, we boated 19 walleye/ steelehead Saturday and 18 Walleye Sunday. Fished Stanley Saturday and landed 15 walleye and 4 rainbows. Fish seemed to be everywhere. Hot baits were Yeck red monkey puke, NK antifreeze, Silver Streak wonderbread We caught all of our fish using Musky Torpedo Divers 115' back and Cuda Torpedo Divers 75' back. Sunday program was the same as yesterday, Lures with 40 and 50 foot leads in front of Cuda Torpedo Divers with line counters set at 75 and 80 and Musky Torpedo Divers line counters set at 120 and 140 feet of line behind the boat. Hot baits again was Red monkey puke with a silver back Yeck spoon, Poo bear copper Yeck Spoon, NK Antifreeze and wonderbread Silver Streak.
  16. First buy a 200khz ice ducer. Then you can cut your cable about 1 foot from the unit then use a union connector for both your new and old transducer. Make sure you solder the wires to the connections and use an adhesive shrink tube to make everything water tight on the connection ends. I've done this for dozens of people without incidence.
  17. If this were true then UltraSound equipment, car rear sonar, robotics, which use the same technology, would also burn out.
  18. Did a long term study on this a few years back. Colder trends definitely chill the bite and Warming trends after a long cooling trend definitely heats up the bite.
  19. Wolves will take out an injured person. When I lived north of White River we had an incident where a native woman was found at the side of the road. A logging driver saw wolves flee from the ditch so he stopped and took a look and there she lay half eaten. She was prone to seisure attacks. In another case I was talking to a trapper friend and he mentioned that one time he was walking across the ice to check his traps on an island and a small pack of 7 wolves were going to the same island and from a different location. The wolves veered from the island and headed directly towards him. He had to shoot 5 of the 7 wolves before they broke off. In both cases they were Timbers.
  20. Bring sand, launch ramps can get pretty icy at this time of the year.
  21. In nature when the baitfish crash the predator fish also crash, if the predator fish continued at the same rate then the baitfish would be decimated. Perhaps it's time to stop all stocking of predator fish in Huron to let the baitfish rebuild.
  22. Hey Sam thanks for the tips, Torpedo lead to lure was crucial.
  23. No problem running them behind inline planer boards. Go to the website and print off the charts according to the speed you like to fish as speed has a really big impact on depth. http://www.torpedodivers.com/charts.asp Hope that helps!
