Go get some heavy duty ratchet straps from Princess Auto. Attach a 2x8 across your roof joists of your garage then take a threaded rod and attach. Get the straps around the boat and ratchet up a few inches and remove trailer. Put blocks under the boat for safety. You'll be done in an hour. and next time you want to do it will take you 5 minutes.

I guess you all do have some snow up their

Yup we get some. http://keithf.homedns.org/snow/top%20of%20...tanthony-01.jpg -
Ceasar Large wooden bowl Using a fork crush 2 garlic cloves and 2 strips of anchovies into the bowl until the garlic and anchovies become part of the bowl Add 2 egg yolks and mix with a fork Add 1/3 cup of first press olive oil Add salt to taste Add L&P about 3 shakes Add freshly ground pepper Mix into the bowl area where the garlic and anchovies are until smooth Add dried mustard until it thickens Squeeze lemon juice in until the consistancy and colour changes, make sure to taste. If it is too watery with the lemon added then add a bit more dry mustard. Add ripped romaine lettuce, bits of cooked bacon, croutons (made fresh in a pan (dried bread, butter, garlic, parsley)and freshly grated parm cheese. should make enough for 4 people, or in my case enough for myself since I like to also top it with some chopped bbq'd chicken.

Something to consider about the meaning of life
Vanselena replied to Marc Thorpe's topic in General Discussion
This man certainly holds alot of Christian values. I certainly hope he has a real relationship with God because I would love to meet him in heaven, unfortunately works without faith is dead. I think it is very sad for people that simply have no clue as to their reason here and simply waste their life. I have a mother in law that everytime she gets sick she thinks the worst and she is very fearful of death, it is sad and so unnecessary, it's like a form of bondage when she and so many others could be free from this fear. Thanks for posting this video! -
I had the same thing happen to my first Lowrance unit, the X 60. The rubber boot is a great idea and is used on many of the higher end units like Furuno, Raymarine and Si-Tex.

Thank you for such a well thought out post. I will keep this in my back pocket for now but will definitely expand into these areas.

I live in London and I can tell you with a certainty the grass isn't that tall in April as shown in the pics.

A couple of guys from another board I frequent mentioned they walked out of Oro and both broke through. Good thing for them they were only in 5 feet of water.

The past 2 years a guy from the US has had me repair his transducer. Apparently when he stores the boat the rodents like to eat the cable.
-
Hmmm interesting, please explain.

Someone was doing this on ebay befor and it was a huge scam. They would tell people to send a huge deposit to hold it and the boat was never there. Be careful with these too good to be true deals.

In the summer I fish every day the winds allow, less after October until ice season. In the spring I am fishing every second day when the walleye are in the river. That being said it is likely an average on 52 days a year.

Pressure definitely effects fish and a few years back I did a 6 month study on weather and fish. The bottom line is fish like stability, for barometric pressure stability means 1016 and whether the pressure is rising or falling towards that, it will help. This being said there are alot of other influences of fish behaviour such as wind speed and shoreline direction, temperatures rising or falling, moon phases etc. Someone once said that when the birds are feeding heavily on the birdfeeder then so are the fish and I have found this also to be true. For myself fishing is more about being in an environment I find relaxing, catching fish is just a bonus. Hope this helps,

They will be made in the USA.

These are great questions and I certainly appreciate them. I'll answer them in order. Transducers operate at certain frequencies and this information is not patentable nor is it exclusive. We would simply state which plug will work with which units and of course the proper frequency, most companies use generic connectors available to everyone and there is no need to license. It’s just like when you go and buy aftermarket brakes for your car, or oil for that fact. One thing worth noting is our manufacturer has at one time or another been the transducer supplier for every sonar company. Our target market is generally past the warranty period. As I had mentioned 99% of sonar issues that have to do with losing signal occur due to transducer issues. We would have a warranty period and I will check into the length of that period. Thanks for mentioning this. Installation is a big issue and I agree that most people do not install their transducer properly. As a case in point, the first thing you should do is add an extra piece of marine grade plywood to the transducer area and this is due to wanting to change the position of the transducer without adding more holes to your boat because mistakes happen. I look at a lot of transoms and rarely see this done. There are other things that should be done to ensure proper placement so your transducer performs properly at high speed without losing signal, you should be able to go 50mph and still see bottom and yet this is one of the highest complaint area from most boat owners. For certain we will put proper instructions with photographic pictures to make installation idiot proof. We wouldn’t want the customer to deal with two different suppliers but we would teach our customers how to recognize transducer problems by how your screen is reacting. These reactions are exactly the same no matter what make or model. Thank you for the thorough questions they are much appreciated. Vanselena

This seems to be an obvious problem for many boaters including myself and definitely a selling feature we will include. Thanks again

This is a great idea and we could do custom orders. Thanks for the great idea!

I agree there are alot of different types of transducers over the years. One of my favorite sonar units for testing is the old Lowrance LMS 300. It uses 3 frequencies, 50khz, 100khz and 192khz. It also has the ability to see out to the sides. The unit is at least 20 years old and combines loran with sonar. If you want you can even use a 50/192khz transducer instead of seperate elements, which is ok but when using one element for two frequencies the sensativity goes way down. You can even use a puck style transducer for this unit. The power is 3000 watts peak to peak so it is pretty much good for any of our lakes. Of course I couldn't help myself and have pimped the unit to make it even more sensative by adjusting the receiver to match the exact return frequency (another subject all on its own) and have added a 192khz iceducer and a 100khz iceducer, this way I can split the screen using the two frequencies and watch a 9° cone and a 25° cone so when a fish approaches in the 25° cone I know to get ready and when the fish enters the 9° cone I know the fish is watching my lure. -

CCM the interesting thing is transducers do have a ping life, or in other words as time goes on the ceramic becomes less and less sensative. The reason it becomes less sensative is the frequency is actually driven into the sonar element, almost like the same effect as being magnetized and slowly loosing it's magnetism. When a sonar unit becomes less sensative 99% of the time it is because of the transducer and 1% of the time it is due to the transceiver in the sonar head. Over the past 25 years the basic function of sonar has stayed the same and that technology has not improved. What has changed are the bells and whistles. For those that just want to see fish then buying a good unit the first time makes total sense. Just thought I would clear up some sonar info for those that didn't already know. -

Hey GB the UNIT is still in development, it takes quite a period of time when developing a new product. Even the Sonar companies with teams of engineers take at least 3 years to develop a product. The good thing is we own the patents and thus we will make sure everything is right befor releasing a product. It is since I have periods of lag time waiting for certain engineers to complete certain tasks that I am looking for other things to do, I hate being idle. Thanks for your response!
