pikehunter replied to icefisherman's topic in General Discussion
You deserve two rounds of applause for your great day out on the water. But, geesh! The weather conditions sound fearful! -
Nice catch guys! Just one question...all that white stuff all over the place, what the heck is it???? I haven't seen anything like it in soooo long!

Welcome to the world Maxwell. I'm sure you'll learn to cast as soon as you can walk and say "Fish on"

Just thought I would post a few pics taken last summer. What better time to post summer pics than in January? One of many many perch. approaching the first Trent/Severn lock N. of Couchiching. Some boats in the lock after the water has drained. Looking down at the lock Wife hiding behind shades The knife is soon to come. My son's first Smallie Here is one of many we caught that day The boat gets a clean up. So this is how to polish your boat the easy way, buy an electric polisher on sale for 20 bucks and let your son play with it. I was going to post a few more, but that should do it for now. Oh yeah.. ignore the time stamps on the pics, I didn't notice thaat it was wrong until it was too late.

Nope, don't bother me at all. As a wise man once said,"That's why they call it fishin' and not catchin." So far at least I haven't thrown a fishing pole into the lake or broken one out of frustrastion

Can you imagine having that bird in your house like a pet budgie?

Thanks again everyone. He took the patch off this morning. My operated eye is still a little blurry, not quite 20/20, but that is expected as my eye sight is so bad to start with. I can't wear my glasses either as it is worse than not wearing them. I took the operated eye lense out to see if that was going to work. That was worse, double vision. I'm afraid to drive just yet because my operated eye is OK, but the other eye is not, the Doc. said I would be alright to drive though as my vision is up to license standrds! I have been scheduled in the O.R to get the right eye done to on Jan 18th. Maybe then I will have near perfect vision! Yippee!!! Finally maybe I can get normal sunglasses (polarized) for the first time in 43 years!

The procedure was a breeze, the wait seemed long. I wasn't kocked out very deeply and was conscious of all that was going on. When I felt some pain, about halfway through i think, I told him to pump up the anesthetic. This morning the patch comes off and I'll know a bit better then how well it worked. My assumption so far is good. If it worked out perfect then I guese my next stop will be to get a clear lense for my glasses! Thaks to everyone for your support.

Thank you everyone for your suport and confidence. I'm just waiting the clock out now. Technology has made this, as well as other procedures a simple matter. And hopefully I will at least maybe able to see the dock after it's all done! Everyone I know has also had success, except for my father, but his situation is different then most people. Polarized lense! Wish I had thought of that!

With my eyesight getting worse and worse I fianally booked my surgery. Tomorrow at 3. I'm just crossing my fingers the surgeon's fear of double vision after the operation doesn't happen. With such poor eyes he warned me of this possibility, that is why I have put the surgery off for a year now. Night driving has become more troublesome and I can't read addresses on customers homes anymore, not it was very easy to read many of them before. It has just become almost imposible lately. And reading almost anything is a real chore anymore. After tomorrow maybe all will be easier. I was warned about 2 years ago that I would develope a cataract on my left eye after I had emergency retina surgery for 3 tears and a hemorage, so the time has come. See ya all later.

I received an e mail yesterday supposedly from TD Canada Trust asking me to click the link provided, then answer the questions to provide my info to them. I never clicked the link as I know they do not have my email address so I figured it was a fake. I called TD Easy Line today and this was comfirmed. I was told to forward the email to them. If you have received one of these emails it is someone phishing. This is the email address I was given to forward it to. [email protected]

The dealers are always outrageous! As said, find a good mechanic, even better if he works for cash and you have the cash. OEM parts from a dealer are almost always expensive. Fix only what has to be fixed to keep the car in a safe condition. Don't worry about the daytime running lights, as long as your headlights do work you will be fine. After you get the car fixed up at a reasonable price and you feel that it is safe to drive then do just that, drive it into the ground. At least the tranny and engine are strong, if the body is good then you are even better off. The car can probably go another 1000.0000 kms. As for the A/C it's only a luxury, why waste money fixing it? Good luck.

I could hear the sighs of relief from tackle shop owners from Niagara to Burlington when I first heard the news.

I had a 12' Arkansas Traveler built in 1960. Great little boat, welded seems and never leaked a drop. I traded it last year and bought a 16'er. If only it was a larger boat I would never have thought of getting rid of it. Maybe if treated decently an aluminum boat might last almost forever?

A true art form. Thanks for posting.

After several tries I made it to 798. Then I got frustrated.
