  1. Lew the kit should say that it is for a 1.98 d wheel
  2. thanks for all the great opinions Starchoice seems like a goo dalternative, certainly price wise. BEV sounds like the way to go and after checking both sites I think its BEV for now.....until some oldschool cable boxes get revamped
  3. only problem is there are 2 other tv's in the house and it might force us to stay with Rogers or get decent sat and basic cable for the others I miss those old school boxes we had before digital cable basic cable price with all the trimmings
  4. Hey there, Wife and I have been tossing the idea of a new tv provider, can you guys enlighten me to a better choice then rogers for HD tv thanks
  5. another thing to consider. Minn kota with a universal sonar is compatible with pretty much every manufacturer, from what I understand motorguide is only compatible with lowrance and garmin products and I was told by a dealer that you cant hook up humminbird products to the US so it might be something to consider also
  6. last yr I bought a pair of Merrell PulseWaterproof Hikers from cabela's great pair of boots for spring and fall/early winter fishing while I only have used them 5 or so times so far I found them really comfortable although a bit warm in the summer time
  7. Ive had motor guide trolling motors for years now but recently ordered a minnkota powerdrive, the motorguide went through thick and thin though
  8. CANADA! President George Bush was in the Oval Office wondering which country to invade next, when his telephone rang. "Hallo, President Bush" a heavily accented voice said. This is Archie, up 'ere at the Harp Seal Pub in Badger's Cove, Newfoundland, Canada eh? I am callin' to tells ya dat we are officially declaring war on you eh!" "Well Archie," George replied, "This is indeed important news! How big is your army?" "Right now," said Archie, after a moments calculation "there is myself, me cousin Harold, me next-door-neighbor Mick, and the whole dart team from the pub. That makes eight!" George paused. "I must tell you Archie that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command." "Holy jeez," said Archie. "I'll have ta call ya back!" Sure enough, the next day, Archie called again. "Mr. Bush, the war is still on! We have managed to acquire some infantry equipment!" "And what equipment would that be Archie?", George asked. "Well sir, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Harry's farm tractor." President Bush sighed. "I must tell you Archie, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armoured personnel carriers. Also, I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke." "Lard T'underin' Jaysus, bye", said Archie, "I'll be getting back to ya." Sure enough, Archie rang again the next day. "President Bush, the war is still on! We have managed to git ourselves airborne! We up an' modified Harrigan's ultra-light wit a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four byes from the Legion have joined us as well!" George was silent for a minute then cleared his throat. "I must tell you Archie that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes. My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!" "Jeysus, Mary and Joseph," said Archie, "I'll have ta call youse back." Sure enough, Archie called again the next day. "President Bush! I am sorry to have to tell you dat we have had to call off dis 'ere war." "I'm sorry to hear that" said George. "Why the sudden change of heart?" "Well, sir," said Archie, "we've all sat ourselves down and had a long chat over a bunch of pints, and come to realize dat dere's no way we can feed two million prisoners."
  9. never mind the snow that is now non existant on my driveway, or the 3 mm of ice under a coating of slush, in taking the kids to school I had to actually put the truck in 4 low to get through the 2 feet of water at the end of someones driveway. Here is one for ya, nothing erks me more then when ppl clean their driveways with snowblowers and blow all the crap on the street giveing me and other drivers a 20 foot wide by 3 foot deep snow pile to blow through saw a bumper get ripped off a cavalier trying to shoot through the pile.....
  10. from my understanding most of the gas stations ( the big 4 ) are run by owner operators who are merely token owners, they dont set the price on gas and are paid a flat managment fee regardless of cost fluxuations. Some one here must be in that position or know someone that is. Trust me this is just another example of the decision makers in the gas companies sticking it to you, ohhh and next time your filling up look at the pie chart from how I viewed it today the cost of gas in particular the governmental taxes which appear to be a percentage of sale. At the very least 6% on 80cents as opposed to 6% on a buck Im sure equates to millions of additional dollars for our beloved federal politicians to squander you think they have a gas shortage..... Rant for the day
  11. had to get gas at trafalger and the 401 earlier today 2 out of the 3 are dry, where I live Winston Churchill and the 403 still good to go if you wanna call it that @ a buck a litre
  12. A great day on the water for sure, and an even better cause thanks Maureen and others. What struck me most was the food at the end of the day a simple donation or not and it was awsome to see that those that ate donated more then thier fair share, class act for sure. 3 km each way of walking on soft pack snow is sure hard on the body these days A few pictures of the day Aaron Shirley after the long walk enjoying one of Tony's fine Cohiba's I figure a victory smoke for walking out to fish water where there were no foot prints at all other then our 3 I realized today that augers have yet another purpose, Tony sniping the Cohiba, when no one had a snip Sorry I didnt meet all of you, but I must say I did meet some great ppl today, sadly no pics of me Ohhh and a big thanks to the guy who handed me that green bottle of pop at the end of the day.........that was truly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!
  13. a slightly better hole shot and potentially on the 50 a mile or so more in speed. The down side with stainless is that something as simple a a small nic at minimal speed can damage the lower unit. I run both a stainless and aluminum on a 50 and generally the stainless stays on for the most part.
  14. Wow another municipality trying to put the squeeze, Im hoping it gets squashed for the obvious reasons not withstanding I have to sneak past Ernie to fish the $ 40 bend...
  15. I used to vist Kipawa and the surrounding lakes every year from he age of 5 or so, with my last trip being 4 yrs ago. The main lake used to be a fantastic walleye lake and laker lake, with the average eye being in the 3-4 lb now from native overharvest its getting tougher. If I can suggest I would go to one of the back road camps on another body of water, there is a lake in the bush that will produce you a limit of blue walleye in ohhh 15 minutes and the average there would be in the 3-4 range. If you want a recomdation to a lodge owner who Im friendly with and has a great place PM me for the info. Havent thought about Kipawa for a bit thanks for jogging my memory
  16. I ll be there at the craa booth

  19. I keep my camera in a neoprene pouch, and it was exposed to the air Sunday all day and worked perfectly fine
  20. great video watched it a few times already, makes me gotta get an aqua view
  21. fishfinder I suggest you hook up with someone that knows the waters real well, too early to start trancing around the ice in unknown waters most of it is safe but a lot of is also isnt. Had my foot almost go through over 50 FOW last week and I knew where I was walking and had a friend walk over it the day before If hooking up with some one wont work then try a hut operator on simcoe, most can put you on whites and lakers.
  22. I ll take a handheld with a navionics chip any day of the week
  23. Gerritt the post that was up and deleted was an unrefined version of an article I wrote for Aaron Shirley's on line magazine the refined version is up on his site in his current e magazine. Fishfinder let me shoot straight at you, your what 15 not that age matters but I was standing in the credit( camillj good memories I recall standing at ried when you could fish it and having the nooks crash your legs as they swam around) and you were far from being a twinkle in dad's eye, so maybe you might do good to listen to some of the guys here and on other boards with a bit more savvy and understanding of things. That rule is in place to protect bodies of water that are sensitive to being expolited by anglers who have no concept of ethics simple enough, secondly who needs to post numbers unless your bragging about it hence that simple rule and thirdly pictures of locations is a no no on most of the steelhead boards for obvious reasons and if you truely dont understand that then I suggest you ask an older member from any board to take you out and show you the ropes. Here is an example of a shot that is awsome in my opinion but shows no background and I believe is suitable for internet posting and here is one that was taken that same day is for personal use and is being posted to prove a point, the water is closed until April so I guess its safe to say the fish will be gone from here by then but none the less a pic I wouldnt photoshop to post anywhere I think I said it earlier photo composition is what makes a nice picture not photoshoped backdrops of sobey's and Fishfinder dont be suprised at all every board has its rules and they are to be respected........ I have heard of some guys fishing some out of season water recently and that they photoshoped thier pics and posted them on the internet for all to see, too bad those anglers neglected to mention that the fish caught were illegal and out of season in the location they were caught you see its all a matter of perception
  24. those 20k runs were a direct result of stocking, the rivers today, are at max capacity, a drop in stocking along side with exploitation rates does in fact equal todays fish population, the fluvial dynamics of rivers inherantly change, and fish adapt to that change with 35% harvest rates and 35% of natural mortality( although I bet a good percentage of that is delayed mortality due to mud shots and such) exploitation is the problem in the current state of affairs.
