Hi there I use them alot out on Lake Erie if its a bit windy and choppy around 20 feet or so i let it drop and you can just reel it in or try jigging it kinda or reel, stop, reel stop and so on. they will usually hit it on the fall so when you go to reel be ready. That is fishing for Smallies to I have had luck with largemouth to. But I really like them silver with the blue top and red/orange bottom is a great one on Lake Erie. The Cotton Cordell Spot is a great one a few sizes is good to they work in shallow as well, Under certain conditions. Good Luck.

I own a Mojo bass wacky style 6'8 med x fast tip and its great the best rod I have owned I like them better then my Shimano. They have great sensitivity and and good power I will own many St. Croix Rods in the future. Hopefully some Legendary rod and others but till then my wallet can't afford them so mojo is a great choice. I'm getting the mojo bass trigger rod next saturday myself I was checking it out there a few weeks ago and i thought it felt great. I'm going to bed adding the Pro Qualifier reel as well from bass pro shop. I think you will be pleased with the rod for the money.

Quick question for the Pflueger spinning reel guys
Live2fish85 replied to Bondar's topic in General Discussion
I think you will be really happy with it. I have the Pflueger Presidents reel which is the cheaper one and I really am pleased with it. I have it on my St. Croix finesse bass rod and its great the drag is great on it. I have had no problems with it. Just give it the tlc it needs. I am looking at getting the Patriarch its really nice and I like the carbon arbor I want to see the difference with that. -
I know I'm going to be spending alot lol lost alot of my tackle this year when it was stolen. But I have a quick question I'm buying a St. Croix rod for flipping and I am wondering if the Pro Qualifier or the Nitro would be best I may use it for crankbaiting the odd time but likely will use my other St. Croix.

My heart goes out to the girl and her family. I couldn't imagine the pain they are going through. I hope that there is some way she is onshore just scared and cold. -
Hey there Sean Welcome to the site. I'm new to this site as well and it's by far the best site, I have had lots of help on any of my questions and I think you will enjoy this site as much as I do.

HAHAHA that's a good thought but our government is so messed being a criminal is a better way to go almost lol. Our Judicial system sticks up for these clowns. They get money after getting out of jail from the government but when I was off for a few months for heart surgery I couldn't get any sort of assistance lol amkes me sick.

Thanks alot for the help I have decided I am going to wait for the Spring Classic and I am going to go with the St. Croix Trigger Rod it's 7'6 heavy. I have another St. Croix spinning rod for drop shot and another for Jigging, with it being on sale I will spend the money on the St. Croix but I am looking at the Carbon Lite reel that will be on sale then to its the baitcaster 10 bearing system I believe its 6 2 1 would that be fine for flippin, it's the bass pro shop carbon lite. I will be spooling it with 50 lbs braid anyone know if that reel will function properly with that line on it.

Hi I am just wondering if any one could give me some advice on choosing a crank bait rod for flipping. I have read some reviews on there site and they sound good but it's always nice to hear it from some one you know has used or tried them. Would I be better to get a combo and if so what are the best, or should I purchase the rod and reel separately. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Yea I agree. I think Burke is a great GM. I just don't think Ron Wilson is the right coach for the team. But I got a feeling that Burke will pull the leafs out of this cold streak and have some good years ahead.

That is the reason I am so eager to get out to the Niagara and do some fishing. I talked to some buddies and we are going to be booking a guided tour sooner then I thought. Very nice fish there that make me more excited about the trip.
-
Do you know what the team entry fee is, I don't live to far from Port Colborne on Lake Erie and I wouldn't mind entering that. Caught a nice walleye this past summer my PB it was 27" in length and 18" girth.

Hi all. I was just wondering if any one could give me some advice on where some decent spots are on the Niagara River for shore fishing. I don't expect your hot spots lol, but just an idea on where to go. I was planning on taking the new boat out but with some helpful advice from fellow OFC'ers I have decided to spare myself any troubles going out without any knowledge of the river. I am going to be taking a guided tour with cast adventures just with a baby it may take a bit as there are other expenses. So if any one could give me some pointers I would greatly appreciate it. I know the area just not sure where to go to get some nice steelies or trout and how to get down to the river. Thanks Chris

One of Toronto's biggest problems isn't so much the players but Ron Wilson. I know the leafs haven't got the most talent but Wilson isn't a players coach and when you have young players you need to guide them not just bench them I could understand if he had a team with a bit more skill and experience but he doesn't. But hes Burkes friend so as a leaf fan I guess its just a waiting game like it has been for the past 40 + years lol. An its unlikely that they will make the playoffs but we can always hope.

I used the Stradic CI4 last year and it was awesome I am going to be getting one soon as well. Best reel I have used for a spinning rod yet.

Nice Lakers and that's a nice sized white fish. Looks like a good time.

Hey, thanks alot for the advice and I will be calling Paul to check out when he open and his prices, Thanks again. Chris

Hi All, thanks for your help with the advice from all of you its safe to say that I won't be venturing out, I have been driving a boat since I was a kid growing up on Lake Erie and I'm very comfortable but not stupid with the sounds of the currents and ice chunks it's enough for me to back off. But I really want to get out there soon so if anyone could guide me in the direction to a well experienced guide out in that area I would really appreciate it. And thanks again for the help, Most likely you have just saved us our boat and more so thanks again. Chris.

Nice Work, Sounds like you had a great weekend. Nothing better then getting out on the hard water and having a successful trip like that.

We are thinking the Lower, But I also have no knowledge of fishing the Niagara so if the fishing is better on the upper and its safer then thats where we will go. As a new boat though I would hate to have some thing happen on the upper lol.
