I have use both and personally hated both. I find yhe nanofil good through the ice and both could cast well just wasn't fond of either. I plan on trying the super slick though as I like Power Pro alot.

I personally think the St. Croix is the best bet. As said the Abu Garcia are really stiff, I don't mind the Compre but a bit to flimsy and St. Croix Mojo perfect. Depending on what you are using it for tho I seen some wicked deals in the classifieds an they were Crucials for like 110 to 120 or something. Awesom deal and better then anything you mentioned for ten bucks more then the other rods give or take a bit.

Wildon is a complete moron. He is a great coach when he has a team full of veterans, but with the young guys hes a moron. He changes up the lines constantly like breaking apart Lupul and kessel when they are the best pair the tem has. He needs to understand that they will make mistakes and more if they keep changin lines. As for the leafs and how they are doing. Well I would say they are doing crap like the Sens as they are both in the bottom of playoff spots. Atleast if the leafs get to the playoffs they won't choke like the sens are known for.

Muskymatt your brain lacks a few cells I think you act like your team has been in a rebuild stage for just a year now. You have been re-building for 15 years with no luck at all. The leafs may not be a great team but they are still far better then the sens. You talk about Kessel being so garbage yet he is up there with the other high point leaders in the league. Lets face it. The leafs biggest problem is not there players. Its there coach. Wilson changes the lines like a moron. Burke has actually done something with the team compared to the last 10 years. As for the OP question I am not at all experienced enough to answer this only went out for Musky on one trip did good but I got no clue on top lures. Good luck I will say one thing google search it. I did and learbt what to do when I was out there and lots more which paid off. Also make sure you have the right gear. For your own safety.

Also don't know if you are set on catchin a pike or a fish if you just want a fish try for some Browns I am sure there are some browns in there and probably more willing to hit then a pike.

If you think they won't cut the line either they will. When I am fishing the inner bay at Long Point I get the odd hammer handle going for bass and they cut my 50lbs braid like nothing. At least a flouro or even heavy enough mono will have more resistance to there teeth.

I would use a leader regardless. Try making a flouro leader with some flouro whether you use 50lbs or what I wouldn't take a chance at pike with out a leader.

Welcome to the forum steel&chrome. It is a great bunch here. I am not to sure about Georgian Bay but Lake Simcoe has some decent puke in there and is alot less then 2 hours. I am sure a bit further north there are some more productive pike lakes. Good luck.

I would have to make the wife her own with just an alfredo sauce but that's easy enough. I think I am going to by some cream and blue cheese. If your going with a minnow. Get a quick strike rig with a large minnow and use it under a float about a foot off the bottom.

Like jigger said. Plenty of leaders. I never use a wire leader but I always use a leader. An like Bill said it isn't the leader causing you to get nothing.

If you do a bit of research on the fish you are targetig you will learn things and have a better chance of catching that species. It is well known that pike don't care what size line or leader you are really using. An as said not using a leader is only going to result in you losing lures possibly killing the fish and still.coming up empty handed.
