Spiel there are good people here. I was just stating that the scum don't just stay down town lol. Sinclair there is lots of scum from Barton St up to king and all the way to Centennial. And all on the Mountain. It is just a dirty looking area that has lots of street donkeys in the area you mention. There is just as high of chanve getting jump down there as there is by the St. Joseph walk-in clinic. I know from experience lol. Walking home at 12am alone wasn't a good idea lol.

Its is Hamilton there is scum all over. Not like you really have to worry.

I am the happiest man right now. Got my new fly reel and the rod comes soon lol.
-
That is awesome. Those are some wicked muskie. I am going to be there soon so I can't wait.

Theres gear for every technique. I use 10# braid with 6# flouro leaders for drop shot. 10# braid on my finesse rod with flouro tip but structure decides on my leader. For flippin slop or reeds I use 50# braid. When I am drop shotting even though I use 6# I still don't take for ever to get them in. I get them in fairly quick then back they go. Letting them fight for ever takes alot out of them and can kill them.

Thanks BFW. I have decided I am going to go with the Hardy. Can't wait tk get out on the water with this combo. Seeing as I am going to have to wait awhile for steelhead I am going to take it out for some pike this weekend. Thanks for all the help from everyone. I appreciate it. Again this forums helps out big time in a tough decision.

Awesome thanks Jeff. I think I am going to go with the Hardy. Now to decide what line to go with.

I had a ML Compre snap on the tip as well. I am going to pick it up soon.

Those are two awesome looking reels. I think if I were tobuy either right now I would be single lol. Has anyone used a thin large arbour reel and what are your thoughts if so?
-
Awesome. Thanks alot guys, I appreciate the help.

Brian I can't wait. I seen some rods when I was at Chris' and they are amazing. I am planning on getting some bass rods done from him soon.
-
Chris I can't wait. BFW the hardy is actually lighter then the Guru. The Guru is like 6.20oz and the hardy is 5.5 or something close. I like the looks of he hardy but I am not sure about the thin large arbour style to it.
-
I didn't see that Brian I will go look. I have read nothing bad about Lamson specially there sealed drag and it is one of the better drag systems from what I have read. I am like a kid at christmas about getting this rod lol. Chris I am using it for Steelhead mainly but will be using it for pike.

Hey there all. I am having a 8wt fly rod built by Spiel which I get very soon. I am trying to decide what reel to go with. I like the Hardy DD 7000 and the Lamson Guru. I am not sure about the thin large arbour reel from hardy, has anyone used this reel? As for the lamson I know I like it but I like the looks of the Hardy better. Which would you think is a better reel? Thanks

If you know how to clean them it is actually easy to clean. You can also get 3 nice fillets and it tastes damn good.

All I can say is holy crap. That was an amazing report. Mike you truely know how to write a report and make it feel as if we were right there with you. By far the best report I have ever read. You should have it published some where in some magazine or something. Thanks for sharing Mike and Bill. I hope to make that trip some day and as there is no portaging it is something I will hopefully experience. Thanks again for sharing. -
Port Rowan has a good launch and isn't very busy either. I was out there on the long weekend on the sat and monday. Bass were tough but both days were stronh east winds. We did manage a bunch of smaller ones though.

All the best to your family and yourself Wayne. Jen can do it again. Her attitude is amazing from the videos I have seen and from what you have told us. Let see her beat it again. I will be thinking of her and praying she beats this again. -
Some will make it back after spawning but most of them will die just like the Pacific Salmon.
-
That is why I stopped watching it lol. Just a joke now. Plus when I lived in Peterborough and there was a fight on we would go to the bars and it was funny how many morons thought they were tough cause they drank to much and watched some guys fight. It was pathetic lol.
-
Yea I personally like spinning rods for dropshot. I also use a Crucial right now with a Supreme XT. My friend uses a Legend Extreme with the core and it works awesome to. So yea baitcasters will work.
-
All Salmon die after they spawn. I am not saying I agree with the gutting. There will be rotting fish in the river regarldess of people gutting.

If you think that Dana White is happy about it being cancelled I can garuntee he is pissed. While you missed out on watching the fights, he missed out.on a ton of money to be made and also lost a ton on it from the cancellation.

Not even worth the time. Have fun at Mountsberg.
