  5. Mike Thank you for sharing information on your chapter's outing. Great to see young'uns learning good information from the MNR, OPP and Transport Canada. Teaching them young will go a long way for our future fisheries. A job well done by Belle River Musky Canada club. just JOHN
  6. Sorry you feel that way. So if you're not happy here, don't let the door hit you on the way out, and turn out the lights. John
  7. No excuse for NOT having the required/mandatory safety equipment on board. Zero tolerence is the position being taking this boating season. This topic, safety equipment required and licensing regulations have been discussed ad-naseum on this board. Use the search engine and learn something. My advice QUIT YER WHINNING, read the regulations that have been linked her several times. Before you leave the dock make sure all necessary equipment and documentation are in your boat. just JOHN
  8. My Mrs and I were just talking about an early fall camping trip to Lakeair. This would work for us. just JOHN

  17. The pleasure craft licence (a copy is sufficient) is all you need in your boat. This IS the document that the police will ask for when they stop you. There are no more free rides and if you do not have a copy on board, you will be fined. Sometimes, too much is read into the "gobble de gook" that gets written in the rgulations. Just JOHN
  18. If it the Gibson Lake I'm thinking of western edge of Muskoka, then it is on first nations land, and you may need to speek with the band leaders to seek their permission. May only be a smiple matter of respect, but worth it in the long run. Just JOHN
  19. Did the person you bought it from provide you with the original registration, bearing the number on the boat? You take this form and proof of purchase to the closest Service Canada office and transfer the registration into your name. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/en/sc/boats...surecraft.shtml Once this is completed, you must carry a photo copy of this NEW registration in your boat at all times. Failure is very $$$, like about 300 of those. You will also be required to register the trailer in your name, the seller should have given you the registration and the licence plate, (unless he was planning on using it on another boat). When you register the trailer the MTO will collect PST & GST, hopefully you have the bill of sale with a low $$$ for the purchase. Just JOHN
  20. pick up a small porta-pottie, and your set to go. It was my wife's idea to buy one. The only time she is reluctant is in November when she has to remove three layers and a survival suit. Just JOHN
  21. There are so many quality reels on the market, it is hard to give just one. Go to any number of quality stores like BPS, Gagnon's, Tightlines, JBs Fishing Depot. Hold the reel in your hand and make sure it is comfortable in your hand. I have my preferences, but most of the reels I prefer are ones I grew up with. Buy the best you can afford, don;t cheap out you will regret. good luch Just JOHN
  22. "Riding Shotgun" on road trips usually ends with someone's feelings being hurt. I didn't know that there are a set of established rules covering this. http://www.shotgunrules.com/ Light humour, enjoy Just JOHN
  23. Nice Video, thank you for sharing your day. Just John
  24. .......young men from the farms, small towns and cities through out Canada, USA and Britain, answered the call and gathered in England, to break the iron grip that Nazi Germany had around the throats of European people. These young boy/men, would eventually become our fathers, uncles, grandfathers and mentors and went on to form the Greatest Generation, and in the process created the greatest countries. They passed onto their children the responsibilities that freedom and democracy must be defended always. Today our troops are carrying on this tradition. If your grand dad is still with you, ask him about his experiences during that time, and thank him for the many sacrifices. If you see an older gentleman driving and his licence displays a poppy, smile and wave and thank him if you can. John
  25. Meely There has been a few changes, you sign the back of the form, fill in the purchasers name etc, then the purchaser takes the registration form to a Service Canada office and transfer the boat into his name. It is also manditory that you have a copy of the registration in the boat. Can't help with the serial number. John
