  1. Pretty steel, Scott Thank you for sharing. If this weather keeps up, it's going to make for a very slow opener, all fish will have reach the head waters, spawned and back to the big O. Happy New Year John
  2. I deal with the same local tackle store as Tinbanger does here in Barrie. One good thing about them, if they do not stock the item, they are willing to go that extra distance for you, and place an order from their suppliers catalogues. Ask the big box stores to do that
  3. We would like to take a moment and wish all OFC'rs and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2007. When you sit to dinner tomorrow, please pause for a moment and think about our troops in harms way, and their families, and give thanks to these brave men and women who give us these very freedoms. Merry Christmas John and Diane Ross
  4. Ken Where do you live? I'm just south of Barie Ont, and I might be able to get access to my niece's utility trailer.
  5. THANK YOU to the selfless behind the scene peoples, I'm behind you all the way. I cannot imagine calling any other site "home" John
  6. Nice quality photos, may have to consider a newer model camera. Thanks for the report
  7. I think the download of the new Java scripts has helped. I was able to get past Rick and to the end. YEE HAW! Thank you JR
  8. Rick, I think there is a problem with this site, or your computer. I'm fine checking the threads and responding if necessary, BUT, whenever there is a post initiated by you or you respond to it. When I open the thread, I get the very top banner of the OFC Community, then the site freezes up, I then have to re-boot to get out and return. I posted this a couple of times, but it has gone to the great computer in the sky somewhere. I even tried to PM you and I again freeze. Will you please looking into this and make whatever corrections may be necessary. Thank you, John Ross
  9. Steve, Good to hear from you. Thank you for giving us the updateon yourself. Congratulations of landing that dream job, and I wish you all the best for your future. JR
  10. Way to go girl. You look simply faaaaaabulous
  11. Thanks for the update Rob. Hang in there. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris and your family John
  12. I signed the petition a few weeks back when it first started to circulate. Please write your MPP and express your concerns about the cutbacks at the MNR. They will sit up and take notice if they receive enough letters. Remember there will be an election in Oct '07
  13. Moe, I'll work on that, and I might need a letter. I'll also have the three portable BBQs and a coleman stove available for Cliff and Loonietoon John
  14. I've dealt with Mike's reel repair in the past, and did not have a problem with the service or wait time. I had him take an older model Ambassadeur 7000 Syncro and rebuild as a conventional 7000, new high speed bearing and upgraded drag washers. This is probably his extra busy season, so be patient, you will be pleased in the end. John
  15. Ron, great looking bug. Looks very easy to tye. What size and type of hook is used? John
  16. Moe, Thank you for the update. I see another site is running with it as well, hope there will be no conflict. You can count on my assistance again. John
  17. It's Ricks fault..... When I returned to my original post, I was scrolling down, and when I hit Rick's post, the site froze, and I had to re-boot, John
  18. Moe, The flyfishing shop inside BPS should carry barbless hooks. You will mostly find them in shops catering to flyfishers. You could take a pair of pliers and squeeze the barb down. John
  19. This to the mods. I have been having difficulties opening some topics. When I open the topic, it will start to load, the top banner, then everything freezes, and I have to re-boot. I cannot really pin-point which topics it will happen with, but I tried to send a PM to Rick, our resident guru, but there was also a freeze up. I first noticed this when the skin was changed to the Christmas icons. I returned my settings to the original colours, but I still experience a freeze. I don't know if others are experiencing this, but in all the years I've had this computer, I have not had as many freezes as I have in the past few days. Thanks John
  20. That is fantastic Peter and Charmaine. Congrats, and have a Merry Christmas in your new home John
  21. Congrats Joey, it really is a sweet rod. Enjoy. John
  22. My hat is off to you. Very honourable career choice. I wish you the best of luck. John
  23. Lookin' Good and the sweater ain't half bad either
  24. My boat is away, Tiny's boat is still in my driveway, planning at least one or two more outings on GBay, weather permitting . Possibility of Wednesday, temps to be 17, with 40% for showers. John
  25. Joey, thanks for sharing.....one of these years, I'm going to have hit the upper with other OFNers, instead of fishing GBay John
