  1. Try using a Bruce anchor anchors no chain req'd and my 10kg will hold 2 30' boats in a gale.
  2. The Bruce Peninsula has a number of parks private, native and federal all offer nice scenery and shore fishing.
  3. Colpoys was open water 3 weeks ago, the Satellite image as of Feb 12 shows the same. Not ready yet.
  4. I have worn a manual inflatable for more than 30 yrs, USCG approved been checked by the OPP a half dozen times, never been asked to remove it to see if it had CCG certification. If your wearing it your making their job easier!
  5. Honestly I'm shocked at this shim fix, I've been building automotive tooling for over 30yrs and Wayne is bang on! This is a quick fix not an acceptable solution.
  6. This sounds great. Is there a website i can get more information? There is a website but you wont get much more from it, in fact maybe less My wife and I have done the park numerous times but normally west of Capt Allen, Sharpe Island out to Moon Island. If your interested in going book early the campsites book up quickly!
  7. Baurer Bower both were big names in the game. Well it's a classic goal stick, personally it would have a spot of honour above my beer fridge Other than that don't know how you would value it but someone may.
  8. Johnny Bower Brian. The stick is definately old I would agree with 60's vintage but value would be based on history as much as age ie who did it belong to?
  9. I've got a 5 horse Nissan made in 89/90 runs like a charm no issues at all.
  10. The water is pushed against the boards while on plane and will move to the stern when your getting up then shoot forward when you hit plane causing the boat to surge almost like a stall, weird feeling when it happens and the bow dives lifting the stern causing the motor to cavitate. Remove the stern board and drill 2 1 1/2" holes 6'' from the tube and maybe 8" from the stern, sand them nice and smooth and paint. you use these with a manual bige pump to remove the water you cant get with your bailing can because it's trapped between the hull and the floor.
  11. Does it have an inflatable keel? Will it only do it when your solo? My 11' er does the same, sometimes water under the floor or the keel needs more air or you need weight forward.
  12. I was talking to a friend who lives in Humphrey last night theres still some ice but the lakes are opening. Check your regs lakers may be the only fish open til the first weekend of May.
  13. Based on your first sentence you shouldn't be looking for a dog. Sorry get a gold fish.
  14. Misfish did the Bell Island ferry several years ago. Pulled into the line around 8am the guys in the car in front of us got out walked back to the trunk and started into the beers LOL Apparently returning home for a wedding great guys and a down right friendly community!
  15. Be there 45mins to an hr in advance, park your car in the line up and go for a walk. Tobermory is a nice little town.
  16. We had a Scottish Terrier past on at 14yrs last year, best little dog I ever had, but I think the Westie or the Norwich might be better for you. Scotties are fierce stubborn little guys that require a little more work
  17. If you're after the Garmin 250 advertised on the front page of the CTC flyer, it is sold out in most stores but the CTC on fairview in Burlington still had 60 left an hr ago.
  18. Couldn't agree more, I'm a tool maker with 30 yrs experience all automotive non union. worked in small shops even ran my own. You guys are barking up the wrong tree! Walmart, Tim Hortons Westons Bakeries, etc all make billions of dollars a year paying their employees below the poverty line wages! Where is your rant about that or is that where you spend dollars?
  19. The Salvation Army or a food bank good charities not top heavy
  20. Great report Wayne You really have got that lake dialled in !
  21. Call Battershell plumbing in Brampton tell them you want Bill Cunningham, when he gets there tell him Bone recomended him. He fishes but more importantly he has over 30 yrs in the trade.
  22. Great discussion guys some interesting responses not a tourney angler so I'll stay out of it. Radnine I am a curler and do you know how many cash crop farmers curl, winter is their down time.
  23. Ok you broke a 1/4 20 bolt in the cast iron stove, drilled it and tried an easy out that snapped. Disc grind the bolt ez out flat, center pop it, take a small masonry drill, sharpen it like you would a high speed drill bit and drill into the bolt get another ez out try again. Or go to a machine shop and have them carbide it out and re tap for you, unfortunately cast iron, steel bolts and heat=worlds best loctite.
  24. Scottish terrier great little dogs, google scottish terriers non shedding etc. They are small but devoted dogs.
