  1. Getting old, just remembered 1983 or 84 coaching a 10 yr old hockey team at a tourney in Buffalo, we got tickets to the Sabres game, came with an invite to the dressing room post game. when the kids were done and headed home with their parents we the coaching staff got to shoot the breeze for 15mins with Scotty Bowman!
  2. Did he not run a snowmobile fundraiser on Lake simcoe yrs ago?
  3. I bought Stompin' Tom a beer one Wednesday night in Georgetown. Thanks douG and we've been trying to get rid of him ever since! Have the yearly pleasure of attending an NHL alumni dinner but I can't take a pen and paper because I'm supposed to be a player LOL.
  4. Always been a conventional oven for me but I've looked at the crock pots, the high heat must be low if the bird will cook in its own juices.

  7. Bob the restrictions are in place because of the VHS virus, so yes if you are going to transport your fish across state or international borders they must be dead. Break out the fish crisp!
  8. 12 gauge with buck shot, hit them twice that puts enough lead in to ensure they are well anchored
  9. Well I have 30+ yrs teaching in minor hockey and this year minor hockey adopted the same rules emphasis that the NHL embraced 2 yrs ago. The DVD's I was given to explain the new rules emphasis were produced by the NHL. The rule is you can only finish the check if you are within a stick length of the player period. As already pointed out he changed direction to make the hit and he was a good 3 to 4 stick lengths away = dirty hit elbow or not, and he isn't protesting the call. Now will the NHL add games who knows? Problem is a few thousand 14 and 15 yr olds watched this hit and the subsequent brawls etc. gonna be a long weekend for me as a convenor. My biggest prob with it all, watch the tape of the 2 coaches arguing and note the young kids standing behind the glass. disgusting!

  17. There are 4 of us in my immediate family that work in the auto industry, we all drive NA vehicles. As a self employed tool maker I'm in and out of a lot of parts manufacturers plants as well as assemby plants. Quality Control is the highest priority in all these plants but 100% inspection is impossible and that applies to all manufacturers not just the big 3. The 1st thing the NA manufacturers need to straighten out is the relationship they have with their dealers. The majority of people who have problems aren't upset with quality, you can replace defective parts, it's service. The dealership is the front line representing the manufacturer and personally I wouldn't have a lot of them representing me. Very good discussion with some good thoughts going on here!
