So, really all i would have to do, is fill with grease to the desired level, then drill a small hole just above that level. If i overfill, it will come out of the hole, when the washer passes over the hole. Is that right.
I agree Bob. It all depends what you want to do, and how you like to fish.I just bought a MinnKota Edge, 45lb bow mount for my 16ft aluminun.I do not troll. i use it to place my boat where i cant get with the main motor. I either fish stationery or drift. So 45 is plenty for what i need. The difference in price is hundreds, not just 20 or 30 bucks. The only time i troll is for Musky, and for that i use the main motor.
While we are talking about it, how do you know when you have enough grease in your bearings.I notice a grease nipple in the center of each wheel to fill, but what indicates when they are full.
Oh Cliff, i feel your pain my friend. just reading your post was enough to start the tears flowing. We become so attached to these small packages of joy.It seems that the purity of their love for us reaches deep into our souls, and nestles there against our hearts for warmth.
my deepest sympathy. His memory will cause you to smile for years to come.

Before i drop 200 on anything, i always open it up and inspect it before leaving the store. These companies shold have drop off points and/or repaircenters everywhere they sell their product.
