  1. Oops. Didn't see you were looking for a 6' rod. Prices mentioned were for 30 "ice rod & reel
  2. I just picked up a couple of St. Croix rod & reel combos (+ free St. Croix hats ) from JB's Fishing Depot for 45.95 ea. He's also got a good selection of ice fishing tackle as well.http://www.jbsfishingdepot.com/ (401 & Dixon area). I would call ahead and as Stephen to hold one for you as his stock is getting low. He'll even spool it up for you if you purchase the line. Please tell him Simon referred you. Regards, Pikeslayer.
  3. Hey Cliff & JR, Great to see you all had a great day on the ice and I can't wait to meet up with you both on Saturday. I would really appreciate the following fish (for team #8): 13" + perch 30" + walleye 50" + muskie I don't want to get greedy so I kept the list short and achievable. Thx, Pikeslayer ps. check your pm's please.
  4. Yep. But they filled in the boat launch. Have to portage in now
  5. Have you tried Lake Aquitaine?? Best kept secret in the 905!

  8. For the record Shaun, I despise CT for what it is now compared to what it used to be. A Canadian icon. Now it is pretty much on the same level as a dollar store. If this 'survey' turns out to have any ties to CTC or a sponsorship, I will be most disappointed and offended. Hope that's not the case, but maybe you should clarify I will apologize in advance if you find this personally offensive. But I will not apologize for the level of service and warranty denials and pricing rip offs that I have been subjected to at Canadian Tire. My 2 cents Regrds, Pikeslayer BTW, I pass 3 CT stores + 2 WM on my way to leBarons & Shortwave Marine.
  9. Canadian Tire is overpriced. Walmart is understocked. Support your local B & T if you can
  10. I have the exact same reaction when I drink budweiser. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the fact that bud is rice based vs barley. Actually, I wont even consider drinking a bud even if it's dripping ice in 30C heat. For the record, Steamwhistle is my 'micro' of choice. Great beer
  11. Jim, It's over. You will never be the same. Please pm me with your fishing inventory. I will purchase the whole lot at once to ease your pain. Would you consider trading straight up for an all inclusive 'Day at the Spa'???
  12. Hey All, I just got the eflyer for this retailer in Winnipeg and there are some decent deals. I ordered the Baffin Evolution Boot for $122.49 (saved $50) but did had to pay $13 for shipping. There's also an 'Eskimo 8" power auger for $329 (reg $409) and ice shelters are on sale. Just wanted to give a 'heads up' if any one is interested. BTW, be sure to use the .ca website. Regards, pikeslayer
  13. Awsome news Cliff . Be sure to stick to the recovery procedure (BTW what are you doing on the computer). Best Regards, Simon
  14. Just for the record, I am 100% compliant with my parole conditions and even managed to get an exemption for fishing hooks (not too mention the fact that I still vigorously maintain my innocence) . pikeslayer

  17. Hey Guys, I just wanted to say that all kidding aside, Skeeter (Dann) is first class all the way . A true fisherman that I am now glad to call my friend. Simon ps. Thanks to all of you that welcomed my son Sean (pikeslayer jr) to the board. You really put other forums to shame.
  18. Welcome Sean. That was a nice intro and very classy of you to thank all of those that said hello . NOW GET BACK TO STUDYING !!!!!! That's my boy second from left . Pikeslayer ps. your'e mother misses you
  19. Hey Paul, Good to hear from ya. Skeeter and I were lamenting the fact that you lived so far away. Hopefully you can make it out this way in the not too distant future. BTW, ya think you might find some time to do JR an avatar?
  20. At the very least, test drive a Hyundai and research on line. We have four (2 x Accent, Elantra & Veracruz) in the family and I honestly got to say, that they are the best vehicles we ever owned. BTW, I believe the Santa Fe has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs. Good Luck, Pikeslayer
  21. Is that another invitation Dann? I'm in
  22. I had the pleasure to visit Le Chateau Skeeter en Lefroy this weekend. Unfortunately, when i arrived Skeeter told me that he was overbooked but he did have a couple of guests checking out early and i was more than welcome to hang around outside his hut. Y'all know how brutally cold it was but Skeeter was kind enough to allow me to come into his hut for a minute whenever somebody inside had to pee (I really wished that they had to pee more but I found out later that they were wearing depends). He even gave me a half a cup of warm coffee that he didn't want anymore. I think that saved my life. There were hundreds of huts out there but Skeeter said that they were reserved for 'guides' or higher and that because I was just 'almost a guide', I would need to make more posts on line. Thankfully, a couple of Skeeter's friends left at 1:30 and his son Daniel told me there was room for me now but I had to surrender all my food and Canadian Tire money if I wanted to come inside. I happily handed over 4 lbs of back bacon and $1.15 in cold (really cold) CT cash. I was so grateful that I threw in a some fresh bread as I was so happy to finally be fishing. Well I was finally able to hold a rod by about 2:30 and the fishing was fast & furious until 3:00. I lost count of how many fish we caught because I don't think my brain was functioning very well (it was really cold outside). Daniel liked the back bacon so much, that he told me I could come back this morning as long I brought him hot chocolate and a double dip chocolate donut. I was happy to oblige but I had to rob a convenience store because Tim's doesn't take AMEX. It was so worth it to spend just to spend an extra few hours with Skeeter & Son. I really, really had a great time. A great big THANK YOU to Skeeter & Daniel. Pikeslayer
