  9. Nice job Mike, pretty soon Ryan will be guiding you around the lake and it will be your time to put your feet up and relax. All you have to do is pay for the gas then Nice rainbow shots too. Ryan has the same expression as I do looking at the tackle box trying to figure out what to use when nothing is biting. Thanks for the report.

  14. Just returned from our family vacation at the cottage. 5 of us ventured back to the Upper French River for a week - my wife Cindy (who toughed out the last half of the week with a bad ear infection so we didn't have to leave early - thanks Cin), son Ryan, his friend Tyson, daughter Jess and myself. We picked the week that has always been beautiful weather wise in the past to us, this year Mother Nature threw us a big curve ball - 3 huge storms while we were there, cold weather, rain pretty much every day. No use griping about it though, so we percervered, had a great time, caught enough fish to keep everyone happy and had a another great week with my family. You never knew at night what you would be facing the next day weather wise but there were lots of impressive skies to view at least. Some nice rainbows after the daily rains The winds made bath time a rather unpleasant event some days - my son is not a cold wind, cold water fan obviously but at least he didn't stink Onto the fish pics - as I mentioned with the cold front we had to work for the fish but there were enough to keep everyone happy Here are the boys with a typical size pike we caught Ryan had a goal to get himself either his first muskie or a big pike, sadly for him neither happened but he fished hard the entire week, never complained and ran the boat all week in tough conditions like a pro. He did manage some nice bass through the week My daughter Jess set herself a goal for the trip, her first bass and her first pike. She accomplished both - she brought a beautiful pike to the boat that we didn't get a picture of and on the last morning before leaving she landed this beautiful bass Thursday the 12th was Cindy's birthday and she wanted a little fish fry for her dinner so Ryan found us a nice hole to get some perch and one surprise smallie for dinner (being typical siblings, they love being together in a picture And finally the fish of the trip. The first day had been a long one, everyone up at 2 am to get on the road, fished lots through the day and all of us were very tired and hungry by the end of the day. On the last troll before heading in, Tyson said he was too tired to fish any more, just wanted to get something to eat and go to bed. He said everyone else is getting fish by standing up so he would to. We were maybe 50 yards from reeling in and calling it a night when he let out a scream, almost went over the back and said "Got one". We were trolling for 'eyes and pike so he was running a small purple reef runner and he said he wasn't sure what it was but it was big. Didn't take long to figure out it was a muskie. He battled it in wonderfully on the lighter set up he was using and brought her boat side. We got the hooks out of her, got her up for a picture and let her go back to grow some more. Being the first muskie we landed, we just wanted to get her off and back swimming so no measurements but he certainly has a memory that will last a lifetime. The release While the weather wasn't the greatest, we made the best of it for the week and had a wonderful vacation. Can't wait til we get up there again. Til next time
  15. Good luck today Brian, hope you and your son do great.

  17. Good to see you expanding Sam, good luck with the new venture at Carra. Wish I was closer to Belleville. (Wish I could catch something worthy of mounting too )

  19. Great report JB, looks like a good weekend. It's always hard to leave up there. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Should be good bass fishing in close to shore depending on where they are in Mitchell's Bay. They can stop in at Bass Haven there and Dennis should be able to give them some good advise.
  21. And after you decide, go fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Gonefishing: Have a good long weekend Tony
  22. True, everyone says theirs is best. I am lucky, as an independent I can sell whatever I want except Lennox and Trane as they are same as Carrier and have a dealer network. I can sell the Amana product anytime I want and it is 20% less money than the Carrier. I choose not to because of the quality. And there are alot of sheysters - if you want to avoid that, go with a smaller independent shop who has been in business for at least 15 years. They can give you some decent alternatives and not out only to get the sale.
  23. I really have nothing vested so I would like to not think of myself as a sheyster but since you asked for an opinion from someone who knew, I thought I would add mine since this is what I do for a living. You buy an Amana, you will regret it, regardless of all their gooblygook they are spewing. Ask for their price on the equivalent Carrier system then see how much they are entering you from the rear. Just my .02
  24. Tony If you want the most bang for your buck, go with the Comfort 13 (ACA3) Central Air and the MVB furnace - will qualify you for the 350 carrier rebate, 650 from the OPA plus whatever the EcoEnergy rebate ie. You are spending alot more to go to the APA5 just to qualify for the extra 100 from the OPA. You didn't say what tonnage you are getting but in reality the savings are only a penny or so an hour between the 13 and 15 (the 13 qualifies for the OPA rebate as when matched with the variable speed it acheives 14SEER) Amana is just a Goodman furnace that they have purchased the name rights to - also this is their first generation of variable speed furnaces - lots of bugs.
  25. are you self medicating you underarm bumps UA??
