  3. wanna see the future, check transportation. 3 months of consistently lower volumes across NA, off a peak that lasted almost 16 months, and started to slow at the end of the 1st quarter of 2018. Internationally, the same, with China now in bear territory in part as a result of tariffs. Volatility will be significantly increased due to the computer programs used by all the major traders, but barring some significant global changes, the bull is due for a rest. Combine that with the ongoing inflationary pressures , inpart driven by tariffs and wage demands that have been stagnant for well over a decade.....
  4. Merry Christmas all. Best wishes for you and yours this holiday season For those who maybe interested, Spotify has a great collection of Stuart McLean's Vinyl Cafe stories, including the Classic Dave Cooks Christmas turkey.
  5. its been so over used as to have lost its meaning - but we used to call that awe. An overpowering feeling that speaks to the soul. Great story. I love those moments. They provide a cache of the mystery of life we can touch when we need it the most Merry Christmas. (and not to distract from the great story, yes, the loss of birds has become disturbingly noticeable in the last few years. )

  16. Sources inside the government have confirmed that a General Motors plant in Oshawa is set to close. It's unclear how many employees will lose their jobs, since this is part of a larger global restructuring plan, the sources said. In a statement, Unifor, the union representing auto workers at the plant, said they have not heard "complete details of the overall announcement" but were told that no cars are set to be assembled at the plant past December 2019. "Based on commitments made during 2016 contract negotiations, Unifor does not accept this announcement and is immediately calling on GM to live up to the spirit of that agreement," the statement reads. The union said it would be holding talks with General Motors tomorrow. "We have no news or comment tonight and won't be commenting to others on speculation," a spokesperson for GM said on Sunday. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/gm-oshawa-plant-1.4920241
