I really like the one piece rods, but have never owned one because i have the 'klutz' gene and break too many so stick with 2 piece for that reason....lol...they come neatly pre-broken in the middle for me!

I wonder why anyone bothers watching WFN at all...type in fishing on youtube and have hours of funny, entertaining, informative, unbiased, real life fishing footage for FREE! Far less people patronizing you, telling you how delicious a fish batter is, laughing insanely kissing fish, wearing a bikini in a vain attempt to keep your interest in a show that has nada to do with fishing, telling you how effective a bait/lure/reel or rod is when you know its a crock, playing bad frat boy thrash music so a show is 'EXTREME',.......sound familiar...lol, Holy moly...i know a lot about a channel i never watch!

I have to concede you are right....in a way...but Micks and Taffs would shoot you for suggesting they are English and i have no idea what 'cockers' are...not sure i want to....lol.

Thanks....it really is not much 'work' on this lake when the bite is on. In my experience this lake has 2 modes...FEAST....or...FAMINE...for us it was a feast day. Thanks man...it sure was fun. The smelt in this lake keeps everything...BIG! Hey JAT, We were fishing 2 types of tubes, 2" YUM Vibraking tubes in white silver flake with a Matzuo scicle jig heads in white and Yum 4" white silver flakeon Matzuo Sickle Rattle Tube Jig The whitefish would hit the 4" tube but it was hard to hook them on that size but got the bigger trout....whereas the 2" tube got all the whities and the smaller trout. The whitefish would not take anything on the bottom today. They would only hit when having the bait(2" tube) dead still at about 6' - 10' feet off bottom. Every now and then the bite would die down so i would send the big four inch tube down and pound the bottom. That would bring the fish back to the area and we would just hover our baits at 6' - 10 ' feet and the whities would attack hard and fast rising almost vertically at speed to suck in the bait. Hope this makes sense and helps.

Funny old lake that one eh?...seems to be feast or famine. I'll be there for another kick of the can next week sometime. The second one was probably the most aggressive strike i have ever seen....raced 20' off the bottom almost vertically in like 2 seconds....BLAM! really freekin anihilated the bait.... cool

It certainly feels like we made the right decision to move here when you see Jack out there doing his stuff! He's incredibly dumb and incredibly smart at the same time. Thanks Rattletrap...i definitely am blessed to have such an awesome kid....i'm growing fonder of the dog everyday...its been a slow prcess as i have always been a cat person and its taken a while to get to adjust to a pup. LOL...the gremlin ears...you were so spot on with that! You know what Gord...Jack has yet to witness a fish come through the ice! But if he is anything like his mum he will outfish me for sure!
