Garnets method does work, I know, I've tried it. Another method to remove line twist is to remove all hardware (bare line). Let out all your line while running your boat at trolling speed - allow the line to un twist in the water as u troll. Reel it back in & you are good to go. Hope this helps. I tried spooling all fluro on a spinning reel & had nothing but problems. Now I use trilene mono with a 5' -6' leader of fluro.

I'd love to be in the area north of Sudbury. Lots of small lakes for walleye, bass, pike. We've vacationed for 4 years at the Watershed restaurant/truck stop. It's a short drive to many smaller lakes towing my 14 footer. Chelmsford would be an ideal town to live in as it is very close to Sudbury for all your supplies & a great hospital facility, housing is affordable & I've met some very nice people. I was fortunate to be able to work in Sudbury last year for 3 months - in 1 hour I could be in natures paradise!!

Jay I was in LaSalle Easter week end. Had a ball reeling in perch at the Marina behind the TD Canada Trust at the end of Laurier St. There were lots of boats launching & going to the right (upstream) by the end of the island (I don't know the name). I heard they were getting walleye. Just launch & follow the boats.

I had a similar issue with my Polaris ATV. I could get it started, would idle properly but, when I tried to accelerate it would bog down - almost like running at half throttle. I was fortunate enought to have a fellow poster send me a link to a site that described (with pix) how to remove, clean & reinstall my exact carb. I removed the carb, cleaned it, checked that the float was working properly, the reinstalled it. While doing this work I also removed & cleaned the gas tank, fuel lines & installed a new fuel filter. All said & done it now runs very well. I found debris in the tank which also found it's way into the carb. Good luck!!

It is never a good idea to use old gas, even 6 months old. Your carb, fuel lines, & fuel filter are probably clogged up with the old gas residue - looks like varnish. I suggest u remove the tank, lines & carb. Thoroughly clean everything with a quality carb cleaner. The tank can be cleaned with a bit of gas, swish it around, dump it - do this several times. If u were to disassemble the carb you'll probably find the jets are clogged. www.ripperd.com/ftpl/admins/carb shows in detail how to remove a mikuni carb, clean it, & re assemble. I love fishing world the guys are great. The guy with the black goatee is a real avid fisherman. He might not have the greatest personality but he knows fishing. My Lowrance color finder was $150.00 cheaper at Grimsby Tackle than BPS. BPS has 1 person in each department who is an expert the rest is staffed by people who couldn't get work at WaLMart. The problem at BPS the expert is always busy helping people like ourselves. Radio World is the only place I'll talk electronics - they know their stuff, will demo it for u, & their price is always better than BPS. BPS came to Canada with much hoopla - as far as I'm concerned they should've stayed in the states.

I have a buoy o buoy. I find it is bulky & rather uncomfortable to move around in. It is definitely very warm. Are the salus suits warm, how are they for comfortable movement?

My condolences to the families & friends of people who have gone thru the ice. In the case of a snowmobile person - are they not wearing survival/floater suits? Does anybody have info on this question?

I have a portable hut (homemade) that is difficult to set up on a windy day. I purchased 4 ice screws, tied the hut to the screws with some rope - problem solved!!

Very good info above but I found the 1 lb bottles on the Mr. Buddy do not last more than 4 hours. I bought a 6' propane hose from CTC (without a regulator) to adapt to the 20 lb bottle. I used this set up in the operators cab of a crane. The 20 lb bottle lasted 10 days, 8 - 10 hours per day on the low setting.

I like to get away from the everyday grind. Even the drive to the lake is satisfying. Sometimes I'll travel 8 hours for 3 or 4 days of fishing. We'll camp in a tent, or sleep in the van which is also a change. Once the boat is launched then the challenge begins. We caught them here 2 weeks ago, where are they today ? Then the first bite!! Priceless.

I'm not too sure about the 3 wheeler, ownership, etc. but I know for sure U must have liability insurance for an ATV. I found out the hard way! 2 years ago stopped by a CO on Simcoe - $245.00 fine & if you're not wearing your helmet another $110.00 fine.
