  1. Any fisherman can tell ya Luc that there trolling motors get abused more than anything else on their boats. Especially if the individual fishes hard. That is just the nature of the beast. And the hours put on them are huge compared to your main motor. Be very cautious buying old used trolling motors cause probably the head and midshaft bearings are probably pooched and that's just a start. Whe I fished a dozen or more bass tourney's a year I used to carry a spare one in my boat because nothing worse than electric motor issues when your fishing for money.
  2. If you like speed maybe you should trade the princecraft in on a glass bassboat.
  3. My Siberian Husky is 16 mths old now and has been eating Purina Pro Plan since december. During the winter mths he was fed 3 cups a day, which he ate happily. Since the weather warmed up it takes him 2 days to eat the same amount. He's very active, gets alot of exercise and is a happy dog. I think he just doesn't like his food anymore. If I add rice to it or some chicken stock he eats it all up. Is this normal because of the hot weather they eat less?
  4. Burke is a good hockey man. He just has to deal with the joke he inherited. Good teams are built from the goalies and defence first the the forwards and centers last. Kaberle won't go to a playoff contender cause that will mess up his summer holidays. The leafs suck.
  5. What do you have to do to be an approved angler?
  6. Go to any drug store. It comes in a 4 litre jug for about 1.50
  7. Heres a good one for junk mail. Them nice return envelopes that are prepaid.... Stuff em with junk mail and send em back. Make sure there really full though cause they pay by weight
  8. Your right Jedimaster.if your fist don't fit in its mouth it aint a fin. Who needs scales.haha
  9. Thanks lads I'm all dialed in mow.
  10. I heard Ugly Stick is coming out with a new rod that costs $700.00. Canadadude I have connections and can get u one. You will be the first in North America to use it. How many do you want.
  11. That first one is no more than 3.5 maybe 4 lbs tops. I can put my fist in the mouth of a bass over 5. thats how I check em first before I weigh them. My buddy thinks i'm mentally challenged but he's starting to believe me That second one looks like a fin to me look at the mouth on it. Damn close, nice fish buddy.
  12. Oh yeah spoons can cause this as well so use a good swivel when trolling spoons
  13. I find if your tubing and using short casts this happens or maybe your spooling your new line on incorrectly. Stand your spool of line on its edge and start reeling, it will fall over onto the correct side that the line should come off of. If your using the old pencil through the center of the spool to load you spinning reel thats wrong. Thats for loading a baitcaster only. And make sure to have the line under some tension when spooling it on. The line off the boat while trolling with no lure on it works the best for twisted line. Good luck.
  14. Okay lads and ladies, I took a 21/2 hr drive one way to my closest tacckle shop yesterday, Paddletails in Winchester to pick up some SLAMMERS. I bought about 10 bags to give them a good try. Ed wasn't around so I am asking you OFNers for some advice. What is the best way to fish them? I will be using them for smallies on the Ottawa River mostly and on local lakes as well. I'm sure they can be used many different ways but what works best for you. I can hardly wait to get out and give em a go. Thanks in advance for any info. Fish.
  15. we were fishing a trophy walleye lake in Quebec and my buddy hooks into one what he said felt like trophy. After about 15 minutes trying to get it in I am standing there with the net and he reels in a 10 lb rock with a weird hole in it. Thats where his rapala hooked on to it. The look on his face was priceless, he was so pissed he snapped his rod over his knee and threw the whole oufit in the lake. Then we spent an hour fishing for his Curado which we got back but the Crucial was a gonner. Everey time I think about that I still laugh my ass off, I actually thought for a bit that he was going to punch me in the face cause I was teasing him to the max.
  16. Kaberle wants to stay a leaf because they offer the best holiday package in the league. Go home in april and see ya back in October.
  17. Rapalaboy the dry weight is 88lbs and fully loaded is 138. It will carry 600 lbs max.
  18. Canadadude if your talking a Sage flyrod or pin rod your correct but there are some awesome bass blanks out there that are totally awesome and nowhere near that price. The Rainshadow RX8 bass blanks for example. It all comes down to how all the components are assembled that makes a good rod. You can have the best blank in the world but if its not put together properly all you have basically is a meat stick.
  19. I love my baitcasters, I am deadly accurate with them. But at the same time you need the spinning gear as well for different applications where the baitcasters don't cut it. Go get yourself one you will have a blast with it once you learn to cast.
  20. I went to Paddletails this morning and stocked up on Slammers and other things. Man I love that store. I looked at the new Loomis twigs and the first thing I was turned off by was the colour of the guide wraps. There plain ugly. They are super light though and feel really nice. I walked out without buying one even if it came with a really cool looking jacket worth about 150.00. That promo is on till the 20th of August I believe. I am going to start making my own rods this winter so the 5 bones I held onto will go towards most of my equipment to get started building my own. Seriously 500 bucks for a off the rack rod is out of my price range. But I would spend that on a custom build thats made exactly for me and the way I want it to feel. And the beautiful guide wraps that come with it, make it a piece of art. They are no doubt great rods but time will be the best judge for that.
  21. Justwannafish that is a sweet yak. I have been humming about a fishing kayak for awhile now and I think I just found it. I checked out the site and there is a dealer 50 miles from me. The Hank Parker video is good too. What are they retailing for if you don't mind me asking. With so many lakes in Renfrew County and alot that are just to hard to get even a small tinny into this is the answer. Thanks for sharing that with us.
  22. I have always just cut the line off without pulling on the line and causing more damage. In bass tournaments I have noticed many times that a bass that is hooked deep on a tube and is bleeding it is better to cut the line and leave the tube in the fish even if they are bleeding. Many times at the end of the day all my bass are alive and the tubes are laying in the bottom of my livewell. I'm not sure how they do it but I would of definitely killed them trying to get my tube out of them. They havae a way of turning it around and regurgitating the obstruction out.
  23. This is a great time of year to get a good deal on a new rig. The only problem is sometimes there selection is more limited compared to the spring time. Good luck.
  24. Thanks Roy, looks like a trip to Paddletails is in order. Man I love that store.
