-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~Yes some people mistakenly, miss call a Speckle Perch for a Herring, but to an Expiot like me, we know how to tell the difference

~~~Sat. the Mighty Kong and I went out to brave the elements, seem like a good idea at the time and seem to start fine, but it was down hill from there. Marked lots of bait, but had problems getting the anchour to hold, and when it did we got hit by the waves and the winds. So with only a few dinks to show and which we released. We went out farther in behind Gerogina to fine some calmer water, but no bait or Perch to be found, we could see the fleet sitten out in 30ft, and we said lets give it a shot. We marked some bait, but with the wind howling, and the anchour kept slipping. Beaten and our ego's bruised, we headed home, to nap. ~~Well Sunday was almost a complete turn around, GreyBear came and picked me ans Missy up, and we hit Lady Simcoe again, we headed out to find a small fleet off the mouth, so we stopped to give it a shot, marked lots of bait with some phish on the side, but after thr 10th. dink I said lets head out deeper to where the Mighty Kong and I were last week in the storm. Had the spot marked on the GPS, and when we pulled up, started marking phish on the bottom. So we dropped lines and it was almost non stop action, with GreyBear landing some very nice Perch, while I was landing the not as large ones. I did manage to land this widdle beauty A very fisty Speckle Perch. Wish we had a better pic of it but Grey Bear and cameras well enough said, and I released it being such a very rare catch. Ended the day with 35 keepers to split. Here's a happy phishen nut. ~~~~Big Thank You to both Slug(Mighty Kong) and a very gamey GreyBear, for 2 days of some crazy phishen, thanks buds
~~~~As it was Slug was able to get off today so we decide to head out again for some Perch. We launched at the Glades, and followed a parade of boats heading out. It was a little cloudy with the Sun trying to peek out as we head to our spot. Got out there a only marked a few scattered schools, I was able to get the first hit, a nice 9"er, and back into the water, no pics taken(drat) should have that was the largest one, till later in the day. We headed towards the Island to see if they were in shallower and found a massive school of bait,in 49' and the only phish the MIghty Kong caught was fouled hooked, now I ask you catching a minnow foul hooked does that come under the listing as a caught phish or bait. Well it wasn't long before we heard the Thunder rolling along, and the wind kept changing direction, then the rains came. We could hear it come across the lake as we rushed to get the rain gear on and I had forgotten Missy's rain coat so I draped mine across her. Well need less to say she slept through the rain storm while I got soaked. We moved around a bit, but were not able to find any Perch like last week, so we decided to join the armada of boats in 31' counted over 45 boats. No sooner had we anchoured up and we had another massive school of phish, so we drop ed our lines in and the hooks were hit before we could get them to the bottom. We used most of our tackle with some good and other they wouldn't even look at it we caught over 80 Perch keeping 4. During this time the rain let up, and time to take some wet clothes off, then the lightning started, in the distance, and then we could hear a loud sizzling noise coming, oh oh here comes the rains, back on go the wet clothes sorry Missy daddy needs his coat, and down it came like a fast gray wall moving across the lake, with bolts of lightning banging ever closer. Bud it time to head in, so with the help of the GPS, which was needed, couldn't see more then 100', we got back to the ramp, and sat in a covered slip, for an hour, waiting for the ramp traffic to clear. And wouldn't you know it the Sun came out as we were putting the boat in the garage. I made sure all the lockers were left open so they'll dry out and hung up all my wet clothes which should take a week to dry. But if it's going to be sunny on Sunday, I'm sure I could find a dry pair of underwear, wife has lots

~~~My partner Slug and I entered Rocky's Perch Dreby on Sunday, and having been phishen the area for the past 2 weeks and only found a few Jumbo, we decided to start out deep, between the islands, and sure enough, there they were, in 53ft. tight to the bottom. we stayed in this spot all day with non stop action until 1:30, and at 2 it picked up again but all small. My partner caught the 3 largest while I brought in a few more to fill our bag of 15. for a total weight of 10.4lbs. only to be beaten by this guy Greg Kratts, with 13+lbs. DRAT Here we are pick up our 2nd. place prize,and also largest phish in at 1.7lbs. A big thank you to Rocky and Don, for setting up another great Derby see you guy this comen Ice phish season ~~~~Will be heading out again this weekend, again to tease our Yankee Cousins
~~Well Slug and I got up to McAuthers to met up with Sun8ca, only to find they weren't open. (DWAT) oh well it will be grubs and spoons today. It the launch and headed out, to a spot I liked and so did the Terns,m and started marking large schools of bait with active hooks around them. Dropped a Swedish Pimple down and on the second jig "SLAM" "PHISH ON" great, hit like a bigen, and ended up being 6" long with an attitude, well wasn't to much long then Slug gets one, okay we got the spot, and his turned out to have really big chip on it shoulders, the lure was bigger then it, but he fought hard. We had a few hit and miss, then one slam my hook just as the phone rang. Missed the call, lost the phish (Thank Sun8ca).Sun8ca, old horseshoe, and their bud Mike arrived, and there went the neighbour hood. Decided to head out deep to 40ft,, and watch the birds, we marked bait most every where we stopped, but no hits or they were real light taps. Met up the boys from Mega-City phishen team, pre-phishen for the Rocky's Tourney on the 30th. both Slug and I are entering. It wasn't until 1:00 that the Perch seem to turn on, and I was able to land the only decent phish of the day, 9 more and were in the money. Not to be ended up with a total of 7, only one keeper. Checked the fuel gauge and it's below the "E" plenty of fuel NAAAA, we packed it up and headed in, for Fries, and Burgers at Skippers
