  1. Looks like you had a great time. Here's a little secret. There is a spot where there is a footbridge at one end of the pond. The sunfish hang out in that area....up to where the dam is. The water is not even a foot deep there...worm, bobber and watch them chase it! The rainbows are at the opposite end....cast to the middle and good luck! Worms and bobbers work for them as well.
  2. I voted no to members only viewing. How many contributing members wanted a look see before signing up? I know I lurked for a bit before joining. Contributing members are hard to come by, and I think limiting who can see these threads will result in ever fewer people joining and sharing. This board thrives in fresh new members.....a trend here is that many long time members stop posting reports altogether after a while. The new membership is key to this place thriving as it is. Just my two cents.
  3. Great stuff Will!! You sure had them dialed in that's for sure!
  4. WOW!!! Amazing looking fish!!!
  5. Heber Down Conservation area in Whitby. Small fee to park, but there is a pond in there a short walk from the lot. They stock it with panfish and small rainbow trout. I still take my daughter there.
  6. Love it!!! That's better than handing the phone to your 3 year old when the telemarketers call lol!
  7. So, does this count or is it cheating??? LOL <embed src="http://www.ebaumsworld.com/player.swf" allowScriptAccess="always" flashvars="id1=82533698" wmode="opaque" width="567" height="345" allowfullscreen="true"/>
  8. Sweet ride. Congrats!
  9. Hope you had a great birthday!
  10. That's really cool! Congrats to her for some great work...you must be so proud
  11. Hope you had a fantastic birthday Art!
  12. Will they allow 10 year olds there? Lol. If you can make it, then go check it out. You won't be disappointed!
  13. It's hard to pick just one.... I love casting huge lures in search of muskie. The anticipation of a lure stopping hit is a huge adrenaline rush! Then there is working the structure and slop for bass...the aggressive hits that ensue...and the feisty battle. I also love shore fishing for salmon...casting spoons off a pier. The strikes are insane...and the runs those powerful fish take are heart stopping! But if I had to choose just ONE fish to target...I think it would be float fishing for steelhead. I love standing in the water...feeling it rush around my legs...becoming part of the river. I love reading the water...finding the seams and the holes and watching that float get yanked under. The hookset and then that split second when you feel the weight of a fish...the fight...the air steelhead can take is incredible and such a rush. Like I said...it's hard to pick just one... But luckily, I don't have to pick just one!
  14. Phil Do a google search for "air quality assessment oshawa" and take a look. If it were me, I'd want a detailed report including a mould and allergin analysis. Whole home hepas help, but an assessment can help pinpoint issues at the source. I'm sure they'd recommend a whole house system as well. Good luck!
  15. Trust me, I got all I could from Canadian Tire...my discount is key to that! LOL
  16. Looks great krixxer! Your job sounded a lot more involved than mine was. Must feel good to take it out on the water knowing you've put all that work in to it
  17. Peter I'm still a noob, but thanks! Lol. Have to admit though, I'm really happy with how this turned out.
  18. Thanks! The name of the game was to do this job as cheap as possible and structurally sound. I had a full can of Thompson's Water Seal left over from sealing my deck so I used that. I also used an outdoor carpet adhesive. The most expensive things were the stainless steel screws, locking nuts and bolts!
  19. I sense a career for you in photography! Unbelievable pictures Mike!
  20. Will...hope you have a great birthday! Since I didn't get you a gift or anything, I figured my gift for you would be to let everyone here know....and maybe they'll get you something. I made this for you, but I got hungry and ate it...sorry
  21. Thanks again everone! It's been very rewarding working on it and having good results like this. It's amazing this is the same boat! Before After
  22. LOL...just so you know, it was more than a few days. I usually had 30 minute to the odd hour to work on it. Started this job over a month ago!
  23. LOL Will...I went to mount it the other way and realized the wiring wouldn't reach! Thanks for all your help!
  24. That sounds about right Raf. Got up on plane fast and cruised along quite nicely. I didn't add much weight to the boat...mostly replaced old plywood. Thanks! Cant wait to get it out on the water now!
  25. Thanks! The tiller keeps things more open in a little 14 footer. If my next boat is longer, then I may have to think about going to a console...we'll see. lol The Kia Spectra was rated at 1000 lbs for towing. It was more the tongue weight...in order to tow it comfortably, I had to move the floor to the back of the boat. Even then, the suspension just isn't made to tow.
