Many thanks everyone who responded and PMd me info on this lake! (except Roy ) A boat has been booked...a nice wide beam 16 footer, 2 seats, fish finder...and all for the low price of 65 bucks for 6 hours. Now I gotta get up there and find some fish!!! Report to come!!! Stan - nothing like a little pressue on us to get a wally...LOL. We may find some deep pockets and jig for some while eating lunch on board...but I think pike and bass may the targets for the day.

Depends on where it is....but hey, why not? As long as it doesn't interfere with fishing I'm good to go...LOL
-
Glad to see you appreciate the humour on this board...LOL. A bunch of us here from the board met up at Lakair on Nipissing in June and we had an amazing fish fry...some of the best fish I've ever tasted!
-
Maybe you've seen bly and I there!! LOL
-
memart...check your PM!

Great report and pics! Some sweet looking fish there!

Nice job out there. Fishing from shore can be difficult and frustrating at times, but when you have a day like you did, it makes it all worth it! Great going! Nice pike and carp.

Wow!! What an amazing report. 8 pound mono...great job landing that beast!!! Looks like you had an awesome time up there...congrats on the PB...now you gotta go get a 50+ incher!!

Impressive resume that's for sure! Welcome to the board...I'm sure you'll have lots to contribute! -
Nice to hear from you Julie! Cant wait to see the full report with pics. Hope you guys are having a great time up there and that your little one keeps busy!

A few...and MOST are helpful....LOL

Thanks for the info Les! I see you are in Burks Falls...nice little town! I've been heading up to the Mag every year for the past 20 years for a camping trip with high school friends. This is the first year I've decided to scope out some fishing holes. I'd rather stay away from the rock bass...LOL..so it looks like calling around to see about boat rentals. Thanks a lot for the info! Saved me lots of time looking for public shore spots...which apparently there aren't any...haha.

Bly and I are headed up to camp this weekend in Magnetawan. This year we are bringing our fishing gear. After a bit of digging around, we found that Ahmic Lake is close by. Apparently the Walleye, Pike and Perch are a-pleny there! Anyone know of some decent spots to try out from shore there? I dont need honey holes, just some direction to shore access. Thanks everyone! PM me if you're not comfortable posting on the board....thanks!

LOL...congrats on your fish combined purchase!! I'm sure you'll have a great time out there in it. Did you get one that a small trolling motor could be attached? Bly and I are looking into that kind of setup. Congrats again and happy fishing!

Great surprise Kemper! Bly and I were out with Fishnsled on that same lake on Saturday. Funny thing though...we were targetting muskie and only got bass....LOL. Great pic...the smile says it all.

Jen...great report! The enthusiasm is very evident in all that you write. Glad to head that you got into some very nice fish too. I knew that skunk would be a distant memory by the time the weekend ended. I've learned TONS from this board...but I always learn the most from fellow OFNers I've had a chance to fish wish. Members like CANADIAN COPPER for steelheading, Fishindevil trolling for walleye, Slowpoke using dipseys and down riggers, and Fishnsled for muskie and bass techniques. Rick opened my eyes to alternate ways to fish for Walleye and Nipissing was a great guide on a new lake and Gerritt helped me get into my first ever Muskie! Sorry bout that long list of people, but it just goes to show the quality and stand up people on this board. Great job Jen...bly and I (and our kids) will have to fish with you and your family one day. Something tells me we'd have a great time out there!

Nice report!! I saw that pier on Bronte...looked like a nice fishable one...with structure and shade depending on the time of day. If it was closer to me I'd be trying it out for sure! Trout farms aren't cheating...I've been wanting to try one out with my little one, but haven't done so yet. Sounded like a nice fishing weekend!!

Great report Mike! Loved the detail...almost felt like I was there. Great pics and commentary. Some nice looking bass there and a nice chunky pike as well.
-
Fantastic report!!! Glad to hear you actually got to fish with 2 little ones in tow!! LOL. When I take my 5 year old, I spend the whole time with her...she manages to catch fish every time I put my line in the water. LOL. The fish in the lap thing was hilarious....I know what you mean....the tense first few seconds...what will she do? Is the day over??? haha. The kids looked like they had a great time and that alone makes it worth it. At least you got into some bass!

WTG ehg! Bly and I were just saying we should try some holes at some local tribs again soon. This post confirms that we should go ahead and do that! Some nice fish there...colours look awesome. Sorry to hear about the reel!!! Good thing you didn't hook into a big fish...twirling around with your thumb could have been interesting to say the least!!! LOL.
-
Nice job evster! The weather was iffy at best yesterday. Good on you for heading out and waiting out the storms...many would have turned around and left!
-
Hey there! Welcome to the board! I'm in the Oshawa area as well...with a few kids who also like fishing. Our 5 year old daughter loves to head out. Oshawa creek isn't a great spot if you have young kids. I've sent a PM with some local information for kid friendly fishing. Good luck out there!
-
Hey Mo...sorry to hear about the slow fishing, but at least you got out there. That first pic looked a bit scary...waters a little rough and looking like the skies could open up at any time!! That coupled with a "psycho" driver made things a little interesting I'm sure!!!!
-
Great job out there! I find as long as you're catching SOMETHING, it's a success....LOL. Great pics...and some of them looked to be decent in size too.
