So where are the fish pictures??? LOL. I know you have some, you've changed your avatar!! Too bad about those guys in the boat, but at least he had some issues of his own after that stunt!!!

Wow Gerritt. We knew that you had lost your son, but we weren't around this board at the time. We cant imagine what you and your family went through. We will take your advice though...and hug our family LOTS. You are a great dad Gerritt, and what you went through serves as a reminder that every single day is precious, and to never take anything for granted. You will be in our thoughts. Cliff and Carole

Brian....wow!!! What an amazing report. 6 pounder...congrats on the new PB! When I have a big fish on, I do the same thing you did...talk to myself...LOL. I say "keep the tip up....don't horse it.....know which direction the fish is going....damn...keep that tip up!!!"

Welcome to the best place on the net! My wife and I rediscovered fishing about a year ago as well, and this board has been a wealth of knowledge for us. We've met many of the members and always have a great time. My advice fishing from shore is to decide what you would like to target and then start asking questions!! That's how we did it and have had some success over the past year. Nice introduction and happy fishing! PS....as someone else already said, fishing from shore can be good right into December if it does not get too cold!!!

Sounded like tough conditions all right! At least you managed to boat some fish...and those muskies REALLY sounded like they didn't want to come aboard you boat! Done with the Kawarthas and onto Quinte? That's where you really shine Shawn!! Go get 'em this year!

"blood curdling shriek sent them packing" You sure it wasn't shrieking like a school girl?? Oh wait...TJ has that department. Great report and pics Mike...they are always a pleasure to read and view. The cottage is now closed up for the season, the fall and winter is upon us, but spring will be here soon enough, with the promise of more great memories for next year.

Yet another good report! Nice to meet up with fellow ofner's as well!

Nice fish! You did better than I did yesterday. I'm still using my summer waders as well...gotta love 30C weather in October. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! -
LOL...looks like a great time TJ! Good luck and be safe. The tiara is the key to my success....doesn't look as good on you as it does me, but hey, you gotta start somewhere....LOL

Ok, so it's not the most glamorous fish, but it was BIG for the species. After casting spoon after spoon looking for some salmon after the rains last night, I set up a bottom rig with a good ole worm on it. A serious tug on the line and this is what I brought in....a BIG BULLHEAD. Now, the Ontario record is 16.38 inches and 2.37 pounds...caught in 1989. This one measured in at 15 inches and 2.10 pounds!!! We used our Berkley digital scale for the "unofficial" weigh in. Here are two pics of the same fish...one to show perspective on how thick the fish was (and no I didn't land it in the net...LOL). The second is the beauty shot...haha. Too bad this isn't an OFAH species for the angler awards....LOL.

Here here Blake! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. Just finished our turkey dinner and dessert...I think I'm too stuffed to fish tonite....LOL Take care!
-
Is you son available for guiding at that spot?? LOL Kids are a natural when it comes to fishing I think. My 5 yr old daughter regularly outfishes me too...haha. Great report...happy thanksgiving.

LOL....nice Wayne!! Great job Mike...for just an hour of fishing I'd say you guys did really well! Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.

Salmon Fishing - What a strange night....
ccmtcanada replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
Thanks all...Bly had no idea I made that face when she took that pic. When she took a look to make sure the shot was ok, she just burst out laughing. It was the first carp I've caught since June I think...looks like they are coming back shallow again in my area. -
You took some cool pictures! Yeah...rained heavily in my neck of the woods too...the tribs will be high and chocolate milk for sure tomorrow...should be prime fishing Monday though! Thanks for the report.
-
Sweet pics! I didn't get out today...wish I did!!!
-
Great report! Nathalie is quite the angler there. Great pics and description of the days events...thanks for taking the time to share!
-
Holy moly! What a fish! Great catch and great pic!

Happy Birthday Patrick G! Looks like you guys had a blast out there today....lots of great lunker bass! Video was a cool touch to the report as well Sean. Great report, great outing....cant ask for much more than that! Congrats guys.
-
Cant say for sure....lots of rain east of Toronto...tribs are likely to be chocolate milk! Good luck!
-
If you can, use distilled water (available at your local grocery store....for about 99 cents for a big bottle) to rinse them off. Chlorine in tap water can weaken the walls of the eggs. Good luck!

Bassin' Report - Great start but I ended the day very angry!

007....you are moving back to the UK? When is this happening? I had no idea. I too will miss your reports and reading about your quest!!! Anyhow, sorry to hear that your outing boiled your blood the way it did. Fishing should always be relaxing and fun. Bly and I have been out a few times, where something/someone has really ticked us off and it really puts and end to the outing. That's one of the reasons we like to fish at night so much...we are usually out there alone...or with just a few other anglers. Nice pics as usual...both the scenery and fish. Hope the rest of your Thanksgiving weekend is a great one!!! -
With the long weekend upon us, Bly and I decided to take the canoe out to hunt down some Salmon! We launched at about 7pm...the waters were calm, no wind, comfortable temperatures. We first started trolling some deep running cranks...then switched up to glow in the dark cleos. My back doesn't agree a whole lot with casting from a canoe, so after a while, with no action whatsoever, we decide to take a break from casting, and I throw on a jig with a big juicy worm on it. The idea was we'd drift around and see if we could catch anything...even a bullhead. Problem was, after about 5 minutes, we realized we hadn't moved an inch....LOL...where the heck was the wind...or even a small current to take us along? Oh well. Suddenly, I get a huge hit....drag starts screaming from my spool. I'm trying to control this beast, but it's putting up a good fight!! Then I realize that althought the fight is good, this salmon hasn't come to surface to jump....I haven't really felt any head shakes. Then I said...catching a salmon on worms? Ok....could it be a walleye? My heart starts thumping harder with the anticipation.... Then Bly nets this fish..... As you can tell from the picture, I was completely ecstatic!! This was better than a salmon....better than a walleye....I was just beside myself with happiness. Ok...I like to catch carp...but not when I'm salmon fishing....LOL.

Wow....I'm stunned...what an incredible report. The pictures were amazing...the fish were even better, but the smiles really tells the story. The only problem is, since these were your first muskies, all other outings will pale in comparison...LOL. Great job Wanye, Dano and Marc!
