  1. Was gonna say Lew.. "blunt arrows".. where's the fun in that!!
  2. You can make Temagami in 5 hours... camp for free on one of the many crown land campsites and if needed slip over to the PPark and use the comfort station for free, just like half the cottagers do that don't have showers! Launch for free, park for free, camp for free.. leaves enough money to cover the gas there and back, AND your Beer!
  3. Only thing holding the daughter in laws front wheel on her trailblazer was the rotor running inside the pad retainer frame. Thankfully a front mounted caliper, if it was rear mounted she'd very well be dead. It's a terrible design.. bearings are too close together to take the torsional load. I did those types of load calculations 'till the cows came home in my younger days. Most vehicles are the same, I've put 3 hubs on Leah's 2003 Sporttrac... it has only 210K on it. First pair went at 55K under warrantee... and one of those was toast before it went home and back to Ford, so that's 6 now. My '69 'Bee still has the original bearings on all 4 corners.
  4. You mean this wonderful design Dan?? .. no thanks!
  5. Well considering the fight I had this morning with some thick tape residue... you may want to tray a small can of Acetone first before you go out and buy any quantity to try on the glue! You may have to remove it mechanically..
  6. Well you won't get a drive to cottage on Lake Temagami Rob.. there are two (other than the homes right on the waterfront in town). One is inside the PPark and the other possible rental looks across at Temagami Marine in inlet bay and is owned by Judy Garah (Lakeland Airways owners Mother)
  7. Stuff you don't want to play with.. but it's another cleaning solvent and has many other uses.
  8. Sure looks like it... I've counted over a dozen blind back passes that went wrong already, they're in panic mode !
  9. Okay.. I'll try to find out. Owner lives on Vancouver Island, his sister-in-law in Elk Lake. She's the possible caretaker, as our other neighbours won't do it anymore. Only 3 of us on the island with 3 acres each. One of us has a 175' water slide... LOL, but not certain we'll be up there at all this summer. Oh.. and the PPark is directly across if you want to put the kids on a sand beach. Boat over and drop them off on your way out to fish...
  10. So they say.... Gloves just dissolve. I asked my Doctor and good friend about it one time and he knows I use it daily, bare handed, and he told me I had more important things to worry about. A one time deal doing your boat isn't going to hurt you if you at least have "workers" hands. I actually clean my hands with Acetone at the end of most days before going in the house to wash up. Now MEK.. I won't touch unless I have to. One good splash in your eye and you'll be blind before you can find a tap to wash your eye out.
  11. I use it daily Art... surprised I still have kidneys.
  12. Rag soaked in Acetone. Soak the rag.. place it over a section and cover with a piece of rubber mat (or similar) for a few minutes (mat stops the acetone from evaporating. Lift the mat and see if the glue will scrub off.. or at least soften up enough to just a PLASTIC scraper. Acetone is $9 a quart can at CTC. Believe TSC sells gallon jugs for not much more... Remember any gouges or deep scratches you put in that .040 or .063" thick side wall = a stress point for a crack.
  13. Neighbours place (opposite end of our island) still hasn't sold...you could probably rent it for the week, but would have to find out if anyone is looking after it this year. Protected area for the kids to swim off the dock.. docks front and back of island and town boat launch is only 3000 feet away. Beer 4000... Have to appreciate the propeller twack of a Beaver at 8am...
  14. I just can't believe you found that many Sens fans to go fishing with..... Looks like a great outing Matt... how long is the lake??
  15. None of your friends have a cordless 4 1/2" grinder and a cut off disc?
  16. Well if they didn't kill it... she'd best be in for a shot in the ass and one in the shoulder.. repeat 3 times. They're no fun... but a lot nicer than the shots thru the stomach. I've had them both...
  17. Yep.. two .08's sandwiched and riveted together (like plywood) is stronger than a single layer of 0.16.
  18. Ice out declared on Temagami !!

  19. Another option... I can give it to the younger daughter next time she comes bumming a meal and have her leave it in the box of the Sporttrac. She works for Ted Handy Architects.. right by the liquor store off Dunlop St downtown.
  20. Yep Shayne.. doesn't have to be a parent you're standing up for either. Luckily for me I always said good morning and good night to the security guards at Sinai.... it made it harder for them to throw me out! lol
  21. Okay.. let me know and you know where to find me... if I'm still here!
  22. Here's what I've got Rob..
  23. Out of the whole mess of them.. I have 5 with the double treble.. in 3 sizes. Will get a picture up later this afternoon.
  24. Well I'll dump out my box of them and see what variety is there for Rob to chose from. Might even be the same colour and size and he could do an easy swap on the kid...
  25. Thanks Dave... I'll have a look tomorrow when I get to the shop.
