DANG... and I almost made it through the day without anyone noticing I got old... well except that PM from Bly this morning. Thanks everyone.
Been a long day... Skiied with Son and daughter #1 last night at Blue and then had to drive her back to TO around 12:30... home ~ 2:30am and up to take a vehicle into Ford for 7. Long day in the shop... and my wife that shouldn't be doin these things right now made me a neat little cake! You can see that Temagami sunburn is still peeling off my face....
Good thing to point out George! The new PT preserving formula even eats the older style galvinized decking brackets and screws/nails. You have to use stainless now or the deck falls apart. PT has no place in an aluminum boat unless you isolate it away from the aluminum somehow.
Great stuff Stan... just go easy with that TIG welder. I was just sent pictures of a babied 4 year old tracker with 7 cracks in the hull... right beside welds for interior bracing...and Tracker is telling him to pound salt on their lifetime hull warrantee.
Great stuff Simon !!! That scoop sunset shot is mint !
And Johnny.. Jessy finally gave in to your pestering I see.. lol At least I presume you talking about Jessy.....
Don... I run a 5HP 4 stroke Honda on mine. Terry got a hell of a deal on that boat, that never even saw the water before I sold it to him. Most comfortable boat I've ever owned and fished from.... and that still stands!
Well at least we know it's spring and the "biologists" are out in full force !
I guess you all hang out on a fishing forum for the NF threads... since you feel the fishing threads shouldn't be posted. You'd think that creek had just been dug last week with an excavator and nobody knows about it yet. That bridge has been shown in many threads over the years.. nothing new. And if you've never seen the scenery in person....do you really think someone is gonna print the pic and then drive to every stream looking for it. I didn't think so...
Mike... check your PM again! Let me know if you have tin snips and I'll get the materials off to you Monday, as I have to go into town first thing anyhow.
Only if you chain your show cars frame down to the trailer! I quickly learned to strap the tires instead and to let the suspension in the car do it's job.
lol Jeff.. he'll be getting some aluminum.. a handfull of blind tank rivets (ie closed shop end) and a bottle full of Sikaflex (polyurethane based) sealant...and it won't cost him anything because I was in his "boat" a moon or two ago myself. I can tig weld aluminum ... I just chose not to ! ... and some vintages of boats may very well be un-weldable if they were made out of 2024
