  1. For sure, you just have to move is all.. every three weeks. Easier said than done when winter sets in.
  2. Don't be nuts... if you really want to get out there come get my 14' Mirrocraft that is on top of the marine container!
  3. Like I said G.mech, just like being on a crown land camp site you have to move your "house boat" at least 100 M every 21 days.
  4. Yah.. that's three for a dollar Davey!
  5. Man that was a long time ago. 3 for a dollar in 1980 !
  6. You have to move it at least 100m every 21 days as you are for all intensive purposes on crown "land". I'm going to try and find the case, but we had one here for years that the MNR chased and chased and chased around Severn Sound and they finally decided to seize it and they somehow split it in half towing it in.
  7. Seems like it's pretty tough to run a reality show up there.. http://www.adn.com/list-article/20151204/alaska-reality-tv-stars-behaving-badly-guide-their-offscreen-mayhem
  8. $102.58 for three years now..
  9. LOL, I've made countless trips, with a 12' crate hanging out the back of my truck, box for free!
  10. My sister did that route from Church St in Ajax and caved in and got a transponder for the 407, just shortly before she kicked the can in 2009 and I had to return it to ETR407. At least you skip the expensive part of the fee by having the txpndr.
  11. A man with his priorities straight. Life's lessons seem to teach us a lot of things Lew. A great Christmas present indeed.
  12. A lot better than Terry did on Saturday I can tell you that!!
  13. Had a keeper in the boat today !!! Water is still 40.7F in the main Sound. Not sure how many guys here have a wife that would be wanting to go Muskie fishing in December, but I think I'm a pretty fortunate lad!
  14. So do I Dara! Love it when powering it up onto plane and it sounds like it shifts gears when the Supercharger boost comes up.
  15. 5 C, sunshine and a light breeze out of the South tomorrow. What should we do tomorrow, when the fog starts to clear??? ;o)

  16. Even if it didn't I'd still be running it for the silence alone! A full 7.5 hour day of Musky trolling for 15 litres of premium. Another 20 litres or so running back in from the end of the trolling run (about 1/2 an hour from the ramp at 35 mph) while burning 10.5 USgallon/hr. An entire day of fun for under 50 bucks... as long as you don't hit anything!! or lose a $100 bait!
  17. Why would I want to listen to the kicker clacking away Mike? The Verado burns 0.5 US gallons / hour (2 litres/hr), trolling at 5 mph. The kicker would be using the same or more fuel, be at about 75% power to do 5mph with my boat, be noisy and have much less boat control than the center drive of the main engine and you also probably wouldn't hear the reel clickers pulling drag over the sound of the small engine at high power setting. Now if you're just learning the water and aren't overly sure where the rocks are on your trolling path, when out on GBay, yes you definitely use your kicker as a sacrificial lamb until you know the water like the back of your hand. Now if I was downrigging for Lakers at 1.6 mph, I'd be on the kicker or the electric trolling motor. The slowest the Verado will push the boat at 550 rpm idle is 2.8 mph
  18. Well North of Honey Harbour, but the general area.
  19. But you certainly save a lot of hassle. One card... no accompanying paperwork to carry from your one year renewals.
  20. Point A to B in 100 FOW, if they're cruising there they'll hit. 3 to 3.5 mph otherwise trolling structure. Water is still warm at 43F !!!
  21. 275 Hp Verado at 4.5mph trolling for musky. See if you can hear it over the water pump pee noise and water gurgle. Beauty day out there for Dec 5th, only thing that could have made it better would have been a big gal. Oh well, thanks for the day Terry!
  22. It is weird out there navigating though bigbuck. Flat calm today, the tell tale rocks and ripples well under water from the past 5 or more years of water levels. Puts you back on your game I can tell you that!
  23. Mine is one of them. I'd meant to make a note of it on my taado list, but I didn't . Thanks Rob.
  24. For those that didn't believe any of us locals when we tried to say it was a 10 to 12 year cycle, I think it might be time for Picnic Island to take the Stop the Drop banner off the gas dock office before the wake waves are coming up through the floor board cracks like they use to about 25 years ago! Now everyone is going to be complaining the water is too high and their docks are floating off cribs. Strange though cruising GBay with no "water line" marks showing on the rocks.
