  1. Question is.. who drank the beer.. refilled and recorked??? ;O)
  2. Possibly Overcast is a Penetang Harbour 5" (full of springs) and 8" is Midland. Regardless... both safe for walking and saw a few hitting Midland Harbour when I drove by at 6am yesterday. Update on ice breaking operations.. start in the morning.. -UPDATE- Ice Breaker In Midland Bay Commencing Ice Breaking Activity Dec 29,2010.doc
  3. Yah.. so.. if we could just catch fish at the same time we'd have something to talk about!
  4. Send Terry an email Joe... I think he had thoughts of going out there somewhere & was gonna take the sled..
  5. Stihl saw.. go into the dealer and get the Stihl oil to mix 50 to 1. I've always been one to say oil is oil... but I can tell you for fact that my Stihl will not run properly using Huscavarna's oil ..and if you need to buy a chain anyhow.. I'd look into that powersharp I noted above. Either way, you always want a spare chain ready to go. Be nothing worse than breaking one and not having one you can throw on quick and keep working the few hours you have on a weekend.
  6. Here ya go Nick.. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwx_TANloCY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwx_TANloCY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwx_TANloCY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
  7. Yes I did Nick... and if I can get a video down and up loaded you can see how nice they work. With the howling wind we had yesterday it even allowed the rod to become an automatic jigger!!!
  8. Ice fog and street light reflection is my bet !
  9. It is a beautiful hut though... if you don't need to lift it into a truck solo and have a sled to pull it.
  10. I fished the first couple years without a finder.. I had an old hummingbird that was good for telling me depth and nothing else. Drill two holes.. put a small 1/16 or 1/32 tube jig down until it hits bottom. Raise it up about 5 feet. Throw a williams spoon down the other hole until it hits bottom and either just lightly lift it off bottom... tap.. tap.. drop... raise.. drop.. tap..tap etc or bring it up about 10 feet off bottom and use it as an attractant for that tube jig sitting still at 5 feet. 9 times out of 10 the finder and it's history of a fish swimming thru just piss you off anyhow.
  11. Personally no.. but I do know their grandfather personally.
  12. Not if you want to go trolling..
  13. Yep boxing day sale is on.. you can get the beautiful Frabil 2/3 man RE2 thermal with the extremely deep sled and nice comfy chairs for $899 vs the $1099 it was last week. Add hyfax, cover and a tow bar and you're still into $1100 + tax !
  14. Highly modified sleds yes Tom.. professionals.. no.. just some grandkids of a very well to do Penetanguishene Local.
  15. Picked up Terry in Orillia, shortly after 7am.. and headed for the lake over yonder to meet up with Lloyd/Keith/Drew and Dale. Was great to be able to get out and grab some fresh air and the resultant head clearing. Keith got a few nice fish.. including a 3 lb pickeral, while Lloyd nabbed an OOS 5 lb laker and a nice big pickeral. Terry and I just washed our lures.. but was a great shake down for me to make sure all the equipment was ready for the season. mini raviloi for a late breakfast.. 6" of ice... up from less than 2 last week! Getting the water ready for Mr. Noodles lunch. I don't believe in small baits and finnesse !!! LOL
  16. I write my name and phone numbers on every box/bag of gear Mike.. including my big flashlights. If nothing else it might at least guilt the finder into returning them.
  17. Jesus Rob.. don't be so cheap.. put some line on that Penn !
  18. Drop by the house at 5am Remo... you'll see as many as 6 bucks at a time eating carrots!! To bad for Marty they're smart enough to leave before sunrise! lol I said it last year Lew.. .don't feed them, your neighbour shouldn't be doing it either. Sumptin about screwin with Mother nature...
  19. Hey Simon.. you're starting to stutter...

  21. All depends on the boat.. the set up..etc and mainly personal preference. Slowpoke needs to design something with all his wants and we'd have the perfect unit! I have no complaints with my cannon electrics and manuals...both with 6' booms
  22. Santa got me a Moultrie D55IR Game/Spy camera... so I can show Marty and Brian what really roams around the house!!
  23. Everything is frozen over in the sound.. but I don't know how thick it is as no time to get out there. Sleds are running around on it.. but around here that means absolutely NOTHING !
  24. JDS's post on the ship coming thru the ice fishermen reminded me I had this notice.. ICEBREAKING_Midland.pdf
  25. No fancy dishes... but it appears the food is finger lickin good !!
