  1. Always open side of the hook facing rearward. So up behind and hang, otherwise a rock flying up can kick them off. Never had an issue and it's NOT an offence to have them. It is "recommended" to have closed hooks. I've been ticketed for "not displaying the device".. which equals an annual safety sticker on the truck and trailer. Threatened about S hooks and told them to add it to the bill.... they couldn't!
  2. Edenvale Flying Club on Hwy 26 at the old military base just East of Stayner.
  3. Nice to see you out wetting a line Dave! I should have brought a rod... we have our other 2 "kids" in the Westin Harbour Castle right now...
  4. Thanks again guys! I wish I had the capability to post a picture from my camera while away from home. You wouldn't believe the smiles/laughs and spirit she had at 7 am on Wednesday while waiting for the Anethesiologist to come and get her. The will to live is an amazing thing. They gave her a hair net as part of her garb... she came out after changing and slapped it on her boyfriend's head.... as she has no hair! (well she actually has what we're calling 5 o'clock shadow now)
  5. Chief Surgeon (and the 8 people following him around) just left. Absolutely amazed at "how well he did" on this one. He's never had a patient at this stage of recovery by the next afternoon. No problems flexing her toes or moving her knee. They're not usually that mobile with an epideral still in. Only thing Jen is complaining about pain wise is the monitor pads glue, or gell, burnt her chest.
  6. Thanks folks! She's surprised them all so far, they expected a couple nites in ICU almost totally sedated, but was put into a normal floor room at 3 am. She's been talking since she came out of surgery and is fully coherant and chipper!
  7. Thanks EVERYONE! Still in ICU as of 2am due to some blood pressure issues and is currently finishing up another transfusion. We're working on 3 hours sleep and have been up since 5am...so bear with me for mistakes or lack of info. 14.5 hours of surgery... 3 ortho surgeons, 2 anesthesiologists, 11 other staff of Nurses and Doctors in the room from 8am on. Wouldn't want that bill ! She's awake and alert... smiling and laughing but, that could be the morphine epideral! Surgeon confident he removed all traces of tumor to clear margins. Appears to have saved her nerve line that runs her foot and also her knee. She can wiggle/curl her toes and bend her knee ! Thanks for all the positive thoughts, PM's and texts today and a big thanks to those that took time out of their day to drop into the hospital for hugs!
  8. Well give way if an airplane blasts by your port side....
  9. Well she's still wound up like a rubber band. Making little piles of stuff that she can instruct us to bring in as time goes on. Hopefully we can get to bed soon as 5am is gonna come way tooooo early. She has to be in admissions by 6am. I will try to post an update here late tomorrow, but it might very well be Thursday before I can do so. The fellow that bumped her surgery date last week was 15 hours on the table last Wednesday and they had to stop and then do another 8 hours on Thursday. Hope to God that isn't the case with Jen tomorrow and the surgery gets completed in one day.
  10. Would if I could Paul.. been there done that on numerous occassions. So far he hasn't broken any of my stuff... well except for that front wheel on the GMC.. it was on his side of the truck!
  11. MMMMMM Smolt sandwiches...
  12. Wouldn't be the Terry we love so dear Hun if he wasn't breakin stuff !!!
  13. Congrats Simon .... keep thinking of my typed thoughts on the matter.. you'll do just fine!
  14. Why I always carry a cordless drill in the boat glen and Terry knows how to use the mask and flippers.....
  15. Nothing is being replaced Nip... Once they take as much of her sacrum as they can, without hitting spinal nerves, there is no hard bone left to attach anything to.
  16. I can see, from at least one picture, why Mike is so happy up there.... Nice trip Boss !
  17. Well she set out to do something and she did so !!! My Brother has now challenged her to do it again post-op. That one's gonna take some time, but we have no doubts in our minds she'll be back up there again!! Please cross what ever you have come Wednesday am ..
  18. I gotta tell you, with the CI4 on there it's the lightest and most well balanced fishing stick I've Jen's ever used !!! THANKS again guys for bringing the smiles and the tears. Jen stuck out the rain for a good 3 hours, but we couldn't hook her up with anything. A common theme I'm hearing from the lake last week.
  19. NorthBay business as well. They've been in the business for a VERY long time. We live in scary times..
  20. BTW... most normal batteries just have the potential to explode.. usually when frozen and boosted. Lithium Ion actually catch on fire.
  21. Exactly Roy... I know of these batteries from aircraft guys trying to save weight and ending up with a burning hull. I'll stick with lead and acid.. I generally get 10 years out of a battery = $13 / year !
  22. Okay.. don't say I didn't forewarn!
