  1. Call Lloyd anything you want... it worked good. He could get his clam to 30 C on a -20C day ! I personally prefer it just warm enough to take the chill off and unzip my jacket.. not to strip naked so you don't sweet and then freeze to death when you get back on the sled to move.
  2. A "moving" blanket and 4 spring clamps from the dollars store works wonders over the top. Gives you something to wrap up in .. in an emergency as well.
  3. Hey Cliff.. lose the internet.. give Sue some attention and give us an update (on the trip) when you get home!!
  4. Haven't sold much there in a long time.. but I'll have to go look to see the truth to this 10%. 3% to Paypal.. who cares.. it costs me 5.98% to accept a VISA or MC these days directly. I send everyone paypal invoices now...
  5. True enough LFW, but don't know if centennial park and such did ( I could find out, my buddy is a senior civil engineer for Barrie).. but after the facility is in place it's the daily upkeep that costs the tax payers. We are all witness to what slobs society has become and it takes money to keep it clean and operable. Terry and I launched his boat in Barrie last fall.. the day after some festival that almost had us locked out of the launch... and I counted no less than SIXTY people cleaning the place up. $15 for the day isn't going to change much, other than freeing up a few parking spots.
  6. Everyone says that Bruce.. and no disrespect or issue your way.. but what do you spend at roads end? Personally if I go to say Innisfil ... I have full tank of gas before I leave. I take my lunch.. I MIGHT stop at Timmies on the way to the parking lot for a donut and OJ, but mostly to leave some liquid behind and use their facilities. I have no issues paying their $10 to park and have a great day on the ice with Terry, Joey and Paul. I take my garbage home and leave no other foot print other than the sled tracks. The township.. rightfully could care less about my $2.45 purchase at Tim's.
  7. He probably left an energy bar in our glove box Terry.. now making claim on your Lund!
  8. Seems to be the way of the times... either councillors just don't get it.. or too many people come into town(s) fully stocked and leave nothing behind but their trash on the way out. I'm working on council (#1 son is one of them) to get rid of the parking fees for the Penetang boat launch. Even I have to pay to use it.. and my tax dollars funded it! Up in Temagami council has been trying for years to get a majority on board to charge to use the lake access road to the hub (that starts 4 miles short of town), as a toll road, as 98% of those that use it NEVER come to town. They arrive fully stocked and wouldn't know where the local grocery store was if they stopped to ask directions twice. The only input they make to the township is emails of complaint on the roads condition. I say just get rid of the road, it was suppose to be removed when the copper mine came of Temagami Island in the 70's. Then everyone would have to use town...
  9. ..but you could trade her in for a new cougar!
  10. Specks seem to be all about timing.. one time you'll get nothing.. and then the next time in 6 guys with 5 fish limits in 20 minutes. We swear they swim the perimeter of the lake looking for food, you just have to be ahead of the "rotation". We fish 6 feet of water MAX... tight to shore... seems to work.
  11. All of our squirrels and chipmunks disappeared one year on the island up North.. but I really appreciate that the wire chewing, nest building buggers are gone.... and more so the lynx walking by from time to time!
  12. Only thing I can suggest is not to drill a hole in Nevil Knupp's outdoor rink !
  13. Exactly John.. I have never been scammed via online purchases... but at least three times from our local full serve gas station(s) and the attendant taking the card inside to run it through... where they write your three digit code off the back down.. full name.. number.. expiry.. etc and then knowing you're a local they look you up in the phone book to get all the other details for addess and phone #. Luckily most get caught wanting to ship to another address than the billing address.
  14. Yep.. looks nice and smooth out there and fairly dry. Might have to drop in on someone...
  15. And then the burner shows up tomorrow.. because customs has sat on it for 2 weeks.. then what? I've had packages sit in Mississauga for over a month, that just disappear into a black hole with no way to track them, and suddenly a card is in my mail box to come pick it up.
  16. I'm not so sure the huge gals are still up to it Dave... either way he's free to do what he wants with his catch. We let the big gals go...
  17. No reason why not freshtrax.. says so right on your fishing licence! Well beyond breeding prime anyhow and I sure wouldn't be eating one of these 30+ year old fish.
  18. Yah it does.. but I'm pretty sure I know where that big rock is.. Here's Terry's video from Feb 2010.. I measured my boots after returning to my hut, at 13.5" vs the 12 I thought they were, putting this fish at 47 to 48 in and the estimate calculator had it at 43 lbs.
  19. Now if he had of been eating soup while it was making runs... [/img]
  20. Creel studies.. you can't win with those. You tell them you're catching lots... they lower the limits... you tell them you're catching nothing.. they lower the limits.
  21. Lloyd's Feb 2010 fish was bigger than that beast.. and he brought it through the hole on 4lb line. Was the camera man scared of the thing.. ran away like a terrified school girl..
  22. Yep very nice trout.. sure hope he let it go so it can grow up to Lloyd size! At least the gaf hit the right spot for a release.
  23. My father in law only forgot to clean a gun in front of one fella that Leah brought home... he's been stuck with me for 35 years now !! My girls can take care of themselves...
  24. Seventh Day Aviationist here..
