Yep, I hear you -- tis the season. I'd love to help out, I'm putting my dock in Wed or Thurs. Saturday and Sunday I'm helping my brother in-law move. Helped him last weekend and the weekend before that. That bugger owes me. I'll call the favour in when I go to build my garage next summer. Entropy

I have three books I’m trying to find out what the value is. 1. A Junior Manual of French Composition, Ritchie & Moore, Cambridge at the University Press, 1931. (Green Hardcover with black type) 2. Famous Canadian Stories, George E. Tate, McClelland & Stewart Limited – Toronto, 1953 (“This is a completely new and revised edition of Famous Canadian Stories formerly edited by Donald G. French” + Printed in Canada by Maracle Press Limited) (Red Hardcover with grey Indians on cover) 3. The Anti-Capitalistic Mentality, Ludwig Von Mises, 1956, D. Van Nostrand Company Inc. (Black hardcover with red and back dust cover) Anyone know the value or where to find the value out on these books. Where would one sell these, other than ebay? Thanks for any direction, Entropy

I hear ya!! A week ago Tuesday when the melt started, my sump pump was coming on every 2.5 min, went out and bought another pump and a generator. I have not needed either yet but it sure is comforting to know I'll be .... ok. Entropy
-
Thanks for the advise guys. All equipment I have mentioned is only 110 v. My unit only has 110 v and does not have the option of 220 v. I have looked up some of the switches for the pannel to hook up the generator to and it looks like I'd be looking at $130 plus instal. I only paid $250 + tax for the generator, so I guess I'll leave it at running extension cords, and not be able to power my sewage pump.... I guess in the worst case I could dig it up and power it with a cord (back to the plastic bag in a milk crate in the garage !!).... lol Entropy

The only thing I'm very concerned about is my sump pump, I understand that this gernerator will power that, but if the power outage was to last longer I'd like to be able to power my sewage pump (once in a while), I can get water from the lake in the winter and have a wood stove. So.... Only problem is my sewage pump is out in my yard - underground - so I couldn't run an extension cord to it. Any ideas on how I could power this sewage pump ??? Entropy

Good Day, I bought a TQ 3000 watt generator at walmart yesterday. I plan on using it only for emergency power for my sump pump and possibly freezer, perhaps at times my sewage pump or well pump. I relize I could only power one pump at a time with this generator. It says it's a 3000 watt max and 2700 watt continuous. Does anyone know if this brand is crap, or will it meet my 'emergency' needs. Do you have one ??

LOL, I was waiting for that comment.

did I win?

I had the same problem last summer. Took it to a place and they wanted $700 to $1000. Unfortunately I did not have that kind of cash. I ended up spending about $300 on plywood carpet, ss screws and bolts, marine carpet, and the carpet glue. The project took 3 days but that was during the 3 hottest days of last summer. I'd say I really only worked on it for about 3 to 4 hours a day. It was discerning doing it, but possible to do it yourself. I would definitely do it again. If I need to have the rest of the boat done I will be doing it myself. Try it. I have photo's I can up load if you like. Entropy

Your CRAZY !! Going out in an unregistered tent !@!!!!!! Your just asking for it aren’t you!? I think we should ban unregistered permanent huts just to be on the safe side. My jacket is very large and poofy, perhaps it too should be registered. “It’s like wearing a portable hut!” LOL This is stupid. Entropy
-
I agree registration numbers on a portable hut really don’t make sense. I could see if the hut was going to be left set up for days on end then, yes. But I have to ask .... “What’s the point of hut registration numbers?” ... To hold people accountable for those who – let them sink in the spring, – leave a line in the water when they are not there, – litter. The person who is using a portable hut is always with the portable hut, thus, accountable at all times. Registering portable huts does not make sense. Or am I missing a good reason to register them? Who has Hydro ?? Just got a text message back from my Buddy who lives in Windermere, says he is still without power, I feel for him, he’s a stay at home day Dad, with a 1.5 year old on the loose. And does some property maintenance for a few million dollar “cottages”. I guess we lost power yesterday, only for 20 min. How are you making out? Entropy
