If I recall properly one lake has a sign posted, the other doesnt.When I went there I was at a t in the rd and turned right.The one on the left had a sign. beleive there was a nursery on the right side at the corner.Sorry, its been a while since ive been there.

You must be reading my thoughts?Bon echo for a canoe ride and to see the old paintings on the wall,Elora tubing is awesome and a little flyfishing to go with it.Alg is always good.But you forgot tobermory and bruce national park, always nice and for some reason its always sunny there,lions head the 45th parallel as well.

If im thinking right there is another lake across the street.Right?If im corect there is no boating or wading on this lake, just shore fishing and lots of turtles nibbling the minnows

Sorry to interupt the topic.Since we are talking about float rods and reels.Does anyone know if McIntyre is still making float reels?He was or is in the mount hope/caledonia area.I would like to have on of his smaller float reels again.

Go with a 13ft raven rod and an entry level reel to make it cheaper.You wont regret the rod.

I may do my regular round trip before opener and see whats going on.It will probably be the same as the past few years.On opener I may hit those little quite spots for brookies and so forth.They may not be big but they sure are spunkie. It beats fishing shoulder to shoulder and watching a fist fight every so often.

A g loomis reel and a raven rod would suffice for your budget.I currently have the same and quit happy with it.The reel should be replaced but it will do for now.

Motor out of commission and no kicker.All other fisherman where darn blind to distress calls.

I would like to thank the crew from port weller(coast gaurd)officially.You guys did an exceptional job.I met one from the crew at brewers marine a few weeks later and thanked him personally for a job well done. You guys are tops,now if i can get a # to thank all,and some timmies to send. You guys are topnotch.

Safety first. cell phones are good, but I prefer a radio.The coast gaurd is always listening.They had me flip back and forth on the radio.Good job and thanks to the port weller crew last spring,A qiuck response and a pro job bringing me to shore.As to the 6 boats out at 50,you could see anyone waving,whistlng and what not.Good thing i didnt use a shot gun.When Im out there, I watch!Regardless!for stranded boaters!My lines or whatever.Binoculars and radio are always at hand. Keep an eye out guys,it can happen to you!I know first hand.Cheers and play safe.
