  1. Zulu ? Are you kidding ? His style resembles that of Eric Butterbean Esch .... now , THAT would be a nice slugfest that would last 10 seconds !! Fedor is a god among mortals .... and you have to teach me how you linked that video to the message board like that ..... I tried it didn't work :@
  2. Wow , I'm watching this live event right now on The Fight Network / ShowTime , and its great ! Girls fighting , guys fighting , not a single boring fight so far , I am very impressed !!
  3. Silva is gonna come back very strong after losing to CroCop . Henderson is gonna get KTFO'ed. First fight between those two : http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xe4ur_sil...-12900-pride-12
  4. Lindland is one of the most underrated fighters , and Silva as like I said , too one dimensional . Lindland was doing very well against Jackson , and he in my opinion shouldve won the fight , he didn't , go figure why. Yes Silva is a BJJ black belt , but he got side mounted , taken down , fully mounted , and almost TKO'ed from the mount by a very sluggish lutter and overall not-very-good Lutter. Matt Lindland would absolutely own Silva , maybe even in the first round , with only one takedown. Everyone these days seems to be a BJJ black belt , yet you see humungous gaps between people's skills . Just my two cents.
  5. Who needs RRSP's when you dont pay income taxes ! Tax evasion all the way !! Haha , naaahh , no RRSP here , maybe in a few years . Remember folks : There is one force in the world stronger than gravity : Compound Interest .
  6. I just finished watching the events , and I have mixed views. It was a great card on paper , how can you not like it when you have Mirko CroCop and Quinton jackson fighting in the US , and top that off with Anderson Silva defending his belt (not) against travis lutter The Cote fight was decent , not enough action , Cote seemed pretty explosive and certainly had good kicks and strikes , he deserves his win no doubt . I just wish it was an all about slugfest like Scott Smith brought last time . Cro Cop's fight was just FUNNY , how Sanchez RAN AWAY from him all around the ring , that's just hilarious , and retarded at the same time , but it was obvious Cro Cop would win . You could definately tell both CroCop and Jackson were NERVOUS , neither has fought in a cage for a WHILE , if ever , and you could tell they were being extra cautious . I was expecting a big slam from Jackson , or a spectacular KO , but I'll settle . The short lightweight fight isn't even worth mentioning And the main event where The striker tapped the submission guy was just boring to watch . You could tell lutter wasn't at the top of his game . I am not taking anythin away from Silva , that dude is just awesome everywehere , but what happened to SPRAWL buddy ?!?! Especially with lutter's sloppy double leg attempts . You could tell Lutter was dehidrated and slooowww , and that cost him , and he got an embarresing loss on his record from somebody who IS a BJJ black belt but is not known for submissions . The next card is gonna be more interesting for sure . Former champs making their way back , and Couture gonna try and prove that Sylvia sucks , good luck with that.

    Humour (NF)

A man and a woman used to live in front of a cemetery, now they live in front of their house.
  8. Our last vehicle purchase was a Hyundai . We walked into Ford first , aggressive sales person wanted to push us into buying and when we told him that we are still comparison shopping he said : " okay go do your shopping then come back if you are still looking " I tried to tell him that we want to stay and see what ford has to offer for a compact SUV or station wagon , he said , no , please , come back and see us after you're done . I will never set foot in that dealsership again . Nextt stop was Dodge , got into the caliber , it was small uncomfortable and felt very cheap , and they didn't have any other cars that were fuel efficient and attractive. Chevy had a decent station wagon , but after we test drove it we were turned off . loud and uncomfortable compared to the Hyundai Tucson that we ended up buying . What's more , Hyundai gave much better warranty , and the car simply feels sleek , smooth , very fast for a 4 cylinder , and fully loaded from the box so to speak . Yes the Chevy was a TAD cheaper , but not enough to justify switching . Besides , even if it's cheaper , the value for the money was still better at Hyundais. My personal story anyway. To add onto that : Had a dodge caravan 1994 , good car , used it for a few years , upgraded to a 2000 Chevy Venture , decent car , bad electronics (check engine 24/7) , unexpected service here and there (some valves that kept breaking , etc) , sold that and upgraded to a leased Tucson . I still drive a 1996 Chrysler Cirrus , it's an old car no doubt , with around 260,000 clicks , still going alright though , but definately soon to be moved to the scrapyard.
  9. Ok , you guys are really blowing things out of proportion . Yes , here in Ontario automotive industry is relatively big , but we are still very dominant with natural resources , bay street stuff , and many many other sectors . Eventually , like someone else said , China's living standards will rise , as will their wages , and they will no longer have as big a competetive advantage over everyone else .
  10. Did you know it costs more than a penny to produce a penny ?
  11. Going the extra step to purchase canadian made products , especially procucts that belong to an already suffering industry is not very productive. You spend extra money that you worked hard for , and you think that you can save that industry with your purchase and the purchases of several others like you , but none the less , majority of people spend their money where it is worth the most , and thus , it's not worth going the extra mile to buy canadian made goods , because the industry will collapse eventually anyway , making your efforts not-worthwhile.
  12. Looks like Rock is monopolizing on people's stereo systems . Myself into almost everything , but recently it has been House,Ambient,Funk,Soul. Fatboy Slim Mylo Moby Jon Hopkins Junior Jack ... just to name a few Most Underrated : Junior Jack and the Masters at Work
  13. This is simple economic theory folks , nothing to worry about . Yes , China is getting stronger , and he U.S. will be soon , if not already outpowered , but this is not something we should REALLY worry about , but rather , should prepare for. Every country specializes in what it does best. China for example has low wages and a communist regime , so they are perfectly suited for a primary industry , that is , manufacturing . This is good for them because it keeps all their billions of people busy and working . We here in Canada have a primarily service economy , this is what we do best , that's the way it is . Yes it's something that people should be aware of , but it is not crucial for our country's economy . Jobs will always be there for people to do , all the people have to do is get the right education for the jobs that are available . Now this can be inconvenient , especially for the boomers who have worked at one job their entire life , only to have that job outsourced later on . That's another trend going on in our generation : It is never too late to go back to school. Moreover, life-long jobs are just not as common anymore . That's just the way she goes . Tight lines!
  14. Thanks a bunch terry !!! Is the hut you recommended the 'Whitey' that cityfisher referrs to ? Im gonna give them a call this afternoon.
  15. Hey guys , I'm getting very antsy , and I really need to go fishing tomorrow . The temps , they are too cold for me , but I will gladly go and rent a hut for a morning or afternoon on either simcoe or scugog , but I am not sure who is already out there and operating ? Tight Lines !
  16. Thanks for the report , now I'm getting antsy .
  17. Wow , great responses so far guys , I am definately going to book a campsite in one of the parks you guys recommended . Can anyone with a bit more experience in canadian geography figure out the names of the parks described in the quote above by Steverowbotham ? They both sound very attractive , and I would conduct further research on them if only I knew the name !! I wasn't able to do it on my own . Thanks a bunch ! Stay safe on the ice !
  18. Hey lads and lasses Hope everyone is having an enjoyable season, whether on the ice or in the boat, or in my case on the couch ! Today I am going to pick your brains with some provincial park stuff for the upcoming summer. Several friends and I want to go camping this summer to a park ~3 hours away from toronto , and we want to go to a park we have never been to before, and one that has the following : - Great fishing (canoe rentals or wadable waters are a must) - Great swimming (sandy beach or large boulders is fine) - Scenery (nothing beats the picturesque shorelines or silent lake and such) - Wilderness (no mass tourism type deal, i.e. balsam lake, bass lake, massassauga, etc.) The parks we have been to are : Silent Lake, Killarney , Algonquin, Pinery, Bon Echo, and several others I can't think of right now . We prefer fishing for bass , pike, panfish, musky, and pretty much anything else aggressive and plentiful. Lets hear some suggestions and personal stories ! If this was the old board I'd use the search function , but when I tried to do that here I came up almost empty. Thanks!
  19. Poor Walleye , poor carp , lets hope they're all consumed after theyre killed , eh ?
  20. You my friend are a true outdoorsman , and I can only wish I was wearing your shoes . Keep living your dreams and the dreams of thousands of others !
  21. St. Lawrence , or Lake Ontario is my bet . As for carp being an invasive species , sure , by DEFINITION they might not be a fish that has been here for as long as others , but it's just another phase in the development of our lakes and rivers. Some fish are more ancient , others come later , it's your personal choice what you like and what you hate , just have an open mind and be happy knowing your beloved bass pike and muskies are safe , along with all other species .
  22. Wow very glad i found this thread , and on OFC of all places , where some of the brightest minds reside !! I read some of the posts in this lengthy thread , and I decided to bring my opinion to the table , and i dont think anyone has mentioned it yet . Ladies and gents , i truly believe this earth is millions of years old , no matter what religions tell us , each is entitled to their own beliefs . Before we humans arrived , there were other species living here , and they maintained a balance for many years , ice ages here , new species there , extinctions here , dinosaurs there , and then came humans . Just like any species , we aren't eternal , and no matter what we do to this earth , we can't destroy it , because it is self regulating . If we put too much pressure on the earth , it is going to get back at us with more severe storms , and other natural disasters that will bring the earth's population back down to a sustainable level, simple as that . Yes , we can say that it's a scary thought that some day we are all going to be in alot of suffering , but look at the greater picture , we are just another species , and just like all other animals , we have a beginnning , and we have an end . I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree that it sucks that our politicians don't care about this problem , but that's simply because we as the citizens aren't putting any pressure on them . If humanity as a whole realizes that we are in trouble , and wants to change something , i have no doubt in my mind a massive change will happen . We live in a liberal society , everybody cares about themselves , and information is SO readily available these days , EVERYBODY knows about global warming , and it's basic consequences. I saw this movie , and although i wish we could stop the damage , we can't , there are just too many people on this earth , and our ecological footprint is too big . When the earth feels that it's under too much pressure , it will tell us , and somewhere down the line , whether thousands or millions of years ahead , just like the gobies came into the great lakes , a new species will come and replace humans , simple as that . KEEP FISHING , and do as much as you can . By can i mean , just enough that youre not suffering .
  23. Pull what boat around ? We all know Musky don't fight hard .... All them big rods are purely for chucking big lures , the fish themselves can be landed by hand over hand techniques Happy Holidays !
