Report back on how they taste ! The little one will probably taste much better . What out for the nasty bones !
-
While Liddell has been champ he has stopped Ortiz twice, Couture twice, Sobral , White, and Horn . None of these fine fighters are true strikers like Jackson is , and none have a chin like he does . With a better game plan he should have been able to beat Wandy and Shogun , he does have the tools , but he just wasn't there . Hendo will indeed be champ, and that sucks for Rampage coz his championship run will end so soon and he won't have an opportunity to bask in the glory .

Possibly the most amazing nature footage ever

Man Buffalos are stupid . That is awesome footage though . Saw it a few days ago on Break . -
One thing I have learned is to NEVER doubt Randy Couture's picks ! Man can that guy make fight predictions ! I knew that if Rampage shows up with the right mindset he can and will beat Chuck standing , but if the Rampage that got mauled by Wandy and Shogun showed up , he was in for a rough night . Luckily , his calm and nervous facial expression was nothing at all , and his strategy of cutting chuck off and stalking him worked beautifully . I don't see Rampage holding the belt for long though . Hendo is gonna make him work , and 'Page won't be able to handle Hendo's grappling.

Great report man . That is one spot I know all too well . Looks like the resident fish there are growing ! Last year it was all 15-18 pounders , now they're up to 20+ .... WTG !

Hey Steve The only way to kick the skunk is to head to Peterborough , you know it

It's just that effortless to catch fish in Canada ! It's true ! .... unless you're on Lake Simcoe. No fish there.

The OFC : We will do everything but set your hook ! -
There are cheap inflatable boats , and there are Zodiacs. Make sure your boat is made of sturdy material and not cheap nylon , make sure it doesn't leak , be careful with where you beach your boat, and other then that I'd feel quite safe. Just for the sake of paranoia though, wear a PFD and take as little gear as possible out on the water with you, so that in case something does go wrong , there is little you can lose.

Mama-Mia ! Spectacular ! You boys never fail to put monstrous fish in the boat !

Thanks for the responses guys ! Johnny's probably the most patient fisherman I've ever met . Always confident even when the conditions aren't looking good ! As for the burn , well , lets just say that for the next week or so the guys at work are gonna be laughing at my expense . I got so burnt that you can see a nice outline of where my polarized glasses sat on my nose all day , with the rest of my face fully red . There is also a very well defined line where my hat usually sits , aweful , just aweful . Will never forget to put on sunscreen again lol

Please post a report when you come back ! I'm going there on June 15 Good luck !

I'll be brief. Pike opener on Simcoe with Johnny Bass, between us we must've gone around 10 for 15 , with the weather and other factors against us. What's for dinner ? Got to Cook's Bay spot #1 , not a sniff , not a good sign . Johnny suggests we hit up a familiar rock pile, we get there and see a zillion other boats , not 10 minutes later , WHAM , Johnny's got one , we restart the drift , WHAM , Johnny's got another ! By this point I'm getting antsy , with people all around us nailin fish, so Johnny offers to let me borrow his magic lure . After a quick zoom over to the mouth of the Holland, and not finding a single fish there, we get back to piking, and get to our final destination which did not look promising at all . The water temps were lower , the bottom looked plain, and the fish finder wasn't marking anything . I suggested we troll it to cover more water and maybe find some structure . We set up the troll , Johnny boosts up the trolling speed by a notch . 10 minutes later Jonny and I BOTH get one at the same time . We're thinking , oh no .... got the lines tangled ! Johnny brings her in , and my line is still way under the boat , so we know we got a Double header ! I bring mine in , a respectable 30" pike which turned out to be the biggest for the day , we're both excited , unhook'em, chuck'em , and restart the drift . 10 minutes later , AGAIN , double header at the same time ! We're both jumping up and down , and this time again I landed the slightly bigger fish ! Third drift , Johnny gets one, and I get weeds . Fourth drift , I get one , and Jonny doesn't . We're ecstatic and in a state of awe , is this really happening during a cold front ? Fifth and sixth drift saw us each lose , and at around 7:30 we called it a day . One helluva opener to the say the least .

Second piking adventure...success (with a sweet surprise)!

Saweet ! Keep nailin' them man! -
High gas prices and higher profits for gas companies are the fruits of the capitalism that you and your parents helped build ! Demand is inelastic, so even if price goes up, demand sticks . The most you can do is either buy cars with smaller engines, hybrid cars, or jtake buses/bikes/carpool . The price is gonna keep going up until it hits a point where it is no longer worth it for Canadians to buy gasoline. Simple as that.

It's gonna be hard to get skunked there now !

Looks like an awesome day ! I think there is consensus on two points here : 1) Pike are doing quite well in the Toronto Harbour 2) A leader is essential to avoid losing lures and harming fish. WTG!

This talk about bad apples , are we talking about people who leave behind more than just foot prints ? Or are we talking about people who use your OFC posts to find new fishing spots ? As far as ticked off property owners go, even if fishermen/women clean up after themselves , if they come in droves , no parking and No Trespassing signs can and will still be put up due to noise, too many cars, or simply lack of privacy for the person suffering from the fisherpeople's presence . Lads and lasses, it's very simple. When we post a report , we know from the get go whether or not we had success, or lack there-of in a secret honey-hole , or a popular spot , like Centre Island. If you're concerned about your fishing spot , then shoot towards the ground, mask it out, or don't post a picture at all , and be brief in your report , or don't report at all ! It's your choice how conservative an approach to take. If you caught a bucket of big crappies from Cannal Road or what not, lets face it , everyone knows cannal road , just like everyone knows of Centre Island , then you will know that whether you post or not , the fishermen will keep coming; some will get skunked, and some will find the fish. If you post a honey hole , and that upsets other OFNers , it's not a honey hole, just another fishing spot . Another way to solve this issue is to switch to Carp fishing. We Carpers never face shoulder to shoulder fishing. Plenty of ridicule, but little pressure

Snag, the only reason why anyone would post pictures of their fish online to begin with is to increase their e-penile length . If you don't care about your e-ego , then don't post reports at all, no-one's forcin' ya I personally have not seen an increase in fishing pressure in urban settings . Anytime I go , I see one or two , or maybe 5 other fishermen walking the shoreline. That doesnt' concern me at all given the size of Lake Ontario. Hey Rick , it would be pretty awesome if only members could see pix . That would encourage registration for sure.
-
Holy cow dude . That looks disastrous . I don't have much experience with boats , but I wish you the best of luck . Don't go there until you are 100% sure you know what the problem was . If you seem unsure , they might try to Bull you , depending on their customer service. GOOD LUCK ! It could've been worse.
-
If my Lake Ontario trip today was any indication ,then ya'll probably got skunked
-
Nice report dude ! I'm thinking Frenchman's tomorrow, hopefully a few Carp there.

This fish is in north america because of Globalization . We trade so many goods and services with the asian world that eventually , some things that we don't want are gonna get here whether we want it or not. Is it bad ? Is it good ? To all stakeholders of lakes and rivers , this is a terrible thing. This fish will not only ruin ecosystems , but wipe out the entire water-sports industries in infected places . People wont swim, boaters won't boat , fisherman won't fish, and the water quality will go way down. We must make sure this fish never gets here.

They are all great fighters and make for fun days on the water. The lack of appreciation they get means that there is more left for me and folks like me.
