  1. Don't know the answer to your question but here is how you can determine what shaft length TM you need for your boat. TOP OF BOW TO WATERLINE .................RECOMMENDED SHAFT LENGTH 0" To 10"......................................................36" Shaft 16" To 22".....................................................42" Shaft 22" To 28".....................................................48" To 52" 28" To 34"......................................................54" To 62"
  2. The 2 top spinning reels IMO ....If you can find them Daiwa Whisker (Made in Japan) size 1300 or 1600 Daiwa SS II (Discontinued) size 2000
  3. Both public launches and all that area right to the lake is clear, NO ICE WHATSOEVER!! I was there yesterday, Marina, yacht club etc still has some ice as seen in the pictures above.
  4. There is a little ball inside the coupler which gets depressed and allows the flow when you connect to the motor, it stops the gas from coming out of hose when you disconnect, maybe and just maybe its not getting fully depressed because its not the right part for your motor, just a guess. I would try to get the proper coupler for that motor before getting in to more complicated stuff like dis-assembling and tinkering with carbs, replacing gaskets etc.
  5. Beware of thiefs @ Queenston launch, quite a few vehicle got broken in upper parking lot lately. I hate those low lives
  6. A software update is coming soon for the new HD units, you'll be able to use your existing HotMaps, Nav Gold etc after that,
  7. I was there yesterday, great show! Angling Outfitters had some great deals on everything and had the busiest booth, others were trying to match his prices, funny the same people wouldn't give you those discounts at the spring fishing/boat show last weekend, Competition is good
  8. It is very important to put stabilizer in your boat for winter storage. I think we all agree with that IMO it is also a very good idea to add stabilizer in every tank of gas during summer, because in higher temperatures ( summer heat) the gas evaporates even faster (if you ever left a plastic gas can in the heat you know how it bloats up) , the good/clean part of gas evaporates, whats left behind causes gumming of carburetors, fuel injectors etc I add stabilizer in every tank of gas, boat, lawnmower, snowblower etc..... it can't hurt!!!
  9. Lowrance!!
  10. Excellent choice Lew! Congrats!
  11. I plan on attending the show, need to buy a few toys from Angling Outfitters.
  12. Hard to tell without knowing the total weight of you rig(boat, motor, trailer, gas, gear etc) personally, I wouldn't want to pull more then 80% of my vehicle's towing capacity. like they say "Its not the pulling which is a problem, Its the stopping"
  13. I know what you mean LOL, those high sides ARE odd looking, you either like it or hate it, but I like the "In Bed Trunk" fill it with ice and you ready for a tailgate party You can lock in 4WD, its called VTM4 lock, but only in 1st, 2nd or Reverse gears, as soon as you reach a speed of 28kph it kicks out of the 4WD Lock and goes in automatic 4WD mode together with Vehicle stability control, electronic brake distribution etc , Honda's VTM4 Lock feature is only meant to get you out of a jam like a tricky/slippery slope or boat ramp, it kicks out to automatic to protect the 4WD system on higher speeds,
  14. I stand corrected, its over 90% made in North America (some parts are from USA), but I think its still made in Alliston Ontario so as the Pilot and Acura MDX.
  15. Congrats! a very good & reliable vehicle, you'll love driving it, specially in the winter with that automatic 4WD, no fish-tailing in the snow/ice & no need to put sand bags in the bed. 5000 lbs towing capacity to boot, best of all its over 90% made in Canada. you did well on the price!
  16. I THANK YOU SIR PM sent! BTW, are these tickets only good for Saturday?
  17. 1- Meet,Greet and Bleep at Dave Mercer's booth. 2- About 7.6 percent of Canadian land mass is covered by lakes.
  18. So sorry to hear about your loss Lew! our deepest sympathies to you and family.
  19. I asked the Lowrance rep the same question at the Boat Show , the answer was " Doing so for a prolonged period like for several hours or a whole day might fry the transducer" Joss @ Angling Outfitters told me the same thing as well.
  20. I would definitely add a cooler, there is a built-in cooler on some vehicles but its just barely enough to do the job so it never hurts to add an extra proper cooler if you tow, and NO automatic coolers don't run too cold, they are designed that way, the fluid only starts to circulate through them when hot, I don't know where you live but in GTA there is a place called Metro Transmission,(Kingston Rd/Danforth) I had one installed on my Chev Astro a few years back for $150 total, took them less then an hour to complete the job, honest people and they do a good job. Don't forget to do regular Transmission fluid changes even if you have a cooler, I always replaced the transmission fluid once a year, never had a problem.
  21. Call Joss @ Angling Outfitters in Woodstock, 519-539-5494 or just wait to see him @ The London Boat/Fishing Show, I am sure he'll give you a good deal. http://www.boatcottagefishingshow.com/when.htm
  22. The rod you mentioned would be fine, as for the reel go with TD Advantage 153 HSTA like mentioned above. great reel!!
  23. "We are fundamentalist, conservative, bible believing, God-fearing, born again, evangelical Christians. We interpret the bible literally in every way possible. We live a strict moral code and observe God’s laws in our everyday life. My wife stays at home and teaches our home-schooled children. I work as a pastor at a local congregation and am active in the faith community" My thoughts exactly!!!
  24. Depending how cold it is, mostly I just wear my snowmobile bibs, any waterproof/replant jacket, a toque and gloves, you don't want to sweat while out in the cold
