  1. Beautiful Wally fellow Beacher. Their are as many Beach residents as Walleye at Baptiste.
  2. Happy Birthday Bernie, you old Giesler. Don't forget to to remind eveyone that a vintage Giesler is a collectors' item.
  3. I think you're asking about Fairport Marine, they sell bait at the bridge.
  4. Other than the obvious, do you have any other planned use for it, (No, not lawnmower racing) such as a snowblower attachment, tiller, etc. I put a tiller on mine but once I got off the lauch it was useless
  5. About 10 years ago people started to catch the occasional pike on Baptiste and Elephant Lakes which were previously pike free. The cottagers' assoc. are in the middle of a Walleye revival campaign and the the Musky, wally, LM and SM are still out there but it's not uncommon to catch pike all day where the others used to be. The hammer handles are becoming trophies.
  6. I ENVY You! (except for the hard work part) I've got to try this some day. Fantastic report, thanks for sharing.
  7. Thanks for the info guys, it's only an hour away from home so I'd like to get up there with my young boys. I'm not much of a fisherman so we'll putter around and drown some worms and maybe get lucky.
  8. Hi Guys, I don't want to hijack this thread but I'm curious about the fishing on Horseshoe. I have property that I've never used and I'm thinking of keeping a small boat there this summer. Just curious because nobody knows much about the lake. Thanks in advance for any info.
  9. This is live in Haliburton. http://www.halcom.ca/haliburton.php?width=704 Hope it helps.
  10. Great shots. My family and I spent a night at the Marriott before crossing over to catch a flight to Florida a few weeks ago. The weather was great and my kids loved the whole Niagara Falls experience. As for the 3k a night Hilton suite, for that money you could spend the night in the Paris Hilton but I hear it's a bit dirty.
  11. http://www.unsolvedcanada.ca/index.php/topic,2574.0.html OK I suck at this...maybe this time.
  12. It sounds like an interesting spot, you might want to bring the heavy tackle. SOMETHING IN THE WATER AS BIG AS A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! « 1 2 » ( hope the Link works)
  13. I'm kinda partial to the Haliburton and Bancroft area. I can keep an eye on things from home if this link works. http://www.halcom.ca/haliburton.php
  14. BigGuy, if you have ever paid taxes then you have contributed more than your 2cents. A lot more.
  15. That's an old trick, they have their arms outstretched toward the camera. I always check the size of the hands...dead give away.
  16. Great Story Lew. Did anybody comment when you reported for duty with down riggers?
  17. The other frontman 'Ed' is my neighbour at Baptiste Lake. A very nice guy and the consummate family man.
  18. My sons and I counted 14 dead carp off of our dock in Gilford today. The pan fishing with bobbers and worms was non stop and my 8 year old was catching a few nice bass. There is definately something going on with the carp but we saw lots of live ones as well.
  19. My 8 year old son has a HUGE Terry Fox poster on his wall; books and memorabilia. No rock stars, no athletes. He's a normal well adjusted kid...and Terry Fox is his hero.
  20. Oh Sure...you're on your own until you report that he pulled into Timmies. All of a sudden six cruisers, Hmmm?
  21. Maybe I'm just getting old but I don't find that funny. Totally Disrespectful. I'm sure they have video of them spray painting graf on buildings too. I don't think a kid who goes fishing would do that, so why were they in BPS. F*cktards. Just my two cents.
  22. If you have a rainy day the Biodome is a must. They converted the olympic cycling dome into 4 eco systems, from tropical rainforests to the Artic. All kinds of unusual wildlife but my favorites are the Canadian Shield with live Lynx, otters and a duck pond etc. and the St. Lawrence Seaway, with tide pools and underwater viewing areas. When you look at the water from the rocks above you see giant sturgeon and salmon everywhere while gulls fly overhead. Unfortunately fishing is frowned upon. The rain forest is great on a winter day with monkeys, birds, crocodiles and all kinds of tropical fish and the Artic area is just like the rest of Montreal 10 months a year except for the penguins and puffins. . There is also an Insectarium across the park, seperate admission...a little creepy for most wives but a beautiful butterfly garden.
  23. Benoirs is a small lake with direct access into Elephant and Baptiste Lakes. If you have a boat you have about 30 kms of world class angling.
  24. CTV News @ 11:30 Apparently mechanical problems caused the car to drive right through the front window. Looks like a major clean up on Saturday.
  25. Somebody parked a car inside Al's tonight...I'd avoid the place tomorrow.
