  1. I actually voted yes with a minimum number of posts, but was probably a bit rash in my decision...In retrospect I agree with Brian. It's really up to the individual to not reveal too much. For the success and health of the board in general it's probably best not to change a proven formula. My guess is if these changes were instituted less people would join and the board would stagnate..
  2. My buddy and I are filming our first episode in Algonquin Park leaving tomorrow (kind of nervous about it actually!). Anyhow, I just found out that Salus is going to give us a couple of their pfd's to wear. Dan is the one who talked with them and he said they were fantastic people to deal with. Their product does look good, here's hoping we can give them a little bit of exposeure!
  3. Really enjoyed reading that, thank's 'bunk!
  4. Like everyone else I wish you the best and am sorry to hear of your plight. Keep us informed as to the final outcome.
  5. Love to see reports like that! Seems to me the walleye slot system on Georgian Bay is reaping dividends. Congrats on a great day!
  6. I know that area like the back of my hand, but you just described almost every single lake in the immediate vicinity . If you can get a little more specific I can most likely help.
  7. Ditto! (I love these kinds of "deals" )
  8. Hey Lew, I'll trade you a guided steelhead trip (when the conditions are prime), for a musky trip . Seriously, I'd be happy to take you out if the opportunity presents itself....
  9. Well, originally I had plans to fish for Pike on Georgian Bay this week. Unfortunately those plans fell through, so myself and 2 other friends decided to fish for steelhead. Personally, at this time of year I'm getting a little bored with steelhead fishing, as there's so many other great things to do once May rolls around. So this was my steelheading swansong 'till October rolls around......and a good one it was . It was a huge numbers day with easily 150 fish put on the bank between the 3 of us . All the fish were dropbacks, but fully recovered and full of fight with most fish clearing the water 5-6 times..... Obviously, the pic's are just a fraction of what we actually caught. Hot bait was whatever you happened to have on your hook . Seriously, they were ravenous and hitting everything. Water temps. were still a reasonable 60 degrees, so the fish were all still in good shape when released. Definitely ended the steelhead season with a bang! cheers, Mike
  10. I also like the Italian seasoned bread crumbs as well. What's also really good is a 50/50 mix of Italian bread crumbs and grated Romano cheese (the kind in a can you sprinkle on pasta). Dip the fish in milk like Harv mentioned, coat them in the mixture, then saute in 2/3 extra virgin olive oil, 1/3 salted butter. Squeeze a bit of fresh lemon on before you eat, and let me tell ya, it's amazing!
  11. I bought a used CRV a little over 4 years ago, paying $10,500 for it. In all that time with a huge amount of driving all I've done is change the oil regularly and replace the breaks a couple times. It's by far the best vehicle I've ever owned, nothing else even comes close.
  12. DEFINITELY avoid UPS, you will be stung with extra charges. USPS is by far the cheapest way to have stuff delivered.
  13. I'd love to go and meet some of you guys, but I work 2-10pm today . Maybe next time....have a good one!
  14. Someone at Google has a sense of humour .
  15. Here's some info... Shawanaga Lake Your On-Line Agent RE/MAX Parry Sound Muskoka Realty Ltd., Brokerage Property Archive Information on Shawanaga Lake Year the lake was surveyed 1975 Lake Size in hectares (1 hectare=2.47 acres) 221.9 Average Depth 5.8 Maximum Depth (m) 17.7 Lake Perimeter (shoreline length in kilometers) 23.7 Percent of lake shoreline fronted by Crown Land (Note: this is a rough approximation determined at the time the survey was completed) 80% Number of resorts on the lake at the time the survey was completed 1 Number of cottages on the lake at the time the survey was completed 35 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- yellow perch rock bass white sucker -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Depth is in metres, so it doesn't look bad there. No gamefish listed...that seems unusual. If I were you I'd give the MNR in Parry Sound a call and ask to speak to someone, preferably a biologist about the lake. cheers (OhioFisherman just posted this info before me, didn't mean to post it twice. BTW, can someone please explain to me how to post just the link to a page? )
