  1. Thanx for the reply's guys, looks like manitoulin and maybe thessalon will be my start points, the soo is a little far for now. Thanx again
  2. this weekend i'm working, but it's my last for awhile so next weekend is up for grabs, probably pull the boat out and check her out
  3. If you have ANYTHING negative to add please dont bother, i'm not trying to stir poop i know it's a VERY touchy subject and i may be beheaded for it it, but I don't care, i've been wanting to ask for a few weeks now but was a little leary this is a fishing board last i checked so i'm gonna ask, it may not be popular and frowned upon by some, but i have no clue so it can't hurt to ask I'm always wanting to try something new. Seeing as i'm getting laid off on sunday and will have some spare time on my hands at a crappy time of year, maybe this is the time to take up steelheading, my first question would be where to go? i'm from sudbury and wouldn't want to travel to southern ontario to learn so staying as close to home as possible is important, but alas I have no clue where to go, I'm thinkin probably manitoulin island but am not sure, maybe somewhere along the north shore of huron soooooo.... if anybody could guide towards a creek/river/whatever it would be REALLY appreciated. if not thanks anyways
  4. sweet lookin ride, mine still has quite a bit of snow on it and still wearing her snowmobile suit
  5. at least there is ONE post without his clever brisebois translation, if ur gonna translate something, do it right it would be Breakwood, either way not even remotely funny GO HABS GOOOOOOOOOO
  6. gotta be 8lb trilene sensation, sensitive and strong, resist nicks pretty good, i've tried many other lines in the past and always scrap them before long and respool with sensation, now i know better i don't like braids as they are "too strong" when trying to break off, I fish lotsa of rock and when u get snagged good i want to break retie and move on, not slice my hand open only to come off with a jighead and a broken hook, but braids do have great sensitivity
  7. unpack and sharpen, although no way in hell i would by that many lures, but to each his own
  8. when i troll for walleye at night with cranks i tie directly to the split ring or the eye of the lure, never use a snap or swivel or leader, i've got decent pike and haven't lost a lure in many years, last time i lost one was about 5 years ago on a walleye, but it was my fault, the pickeral were really biting good and instead of re-tying after a couple fish i just kept fishing, the bait shouldn't "twirl" like a spoon so there's no need for a swivel,
  9. got home from work with not much time to spare, but i made it btw, hasek is an awesome pick up, if he stays healthy of course, would be worth the risk since it looks like we can do 2 trades?, even forsberg for that matter, he's been tearing it up since his return, if/when he doesn't make it past the first round or injured...... trade of course i took my boy Price and also passed on the 'berg GO HABS GO
  10. nother fer wimmin Nothing, means..... nothing! ex. What are u thinkin of? - Nothing. Well u must be thinkin of something. -Nope. I don't care means.... i don't care! ex. What do u think of sky blue instead of ocean blue for the bedroom? - i don't care. - What do u mean u don't care? quit trying to analyze things, sometimes we just don't give a carp thanks for letting me vent
  11. haven't been in years cause it always sucked, my first sunday off in about 8 months, so what better way to spend the day, YA RIGHT what a joke, i spent about 25mins. there, waste of 5 bucks off of my head this is what we had boat/motor/atv/trailer dispalys (90% of the show) about 7-8 lodges/ adventure companies scuba instructor pots/pans display 1 atrist 2 tshirt guys 1 soft palstics manufacturer Armed Forces Antique motor display (best part of the show, i'd give my 5 bucks to him if i could) Ramp company to load atv/sled some sort of gps/we'll find u if u get lost company sunglasse booth that's all i can think of right now, maybe 2-3 things i forgot Not 1 rod, reel, tackle box, tackle (other than 1 soft bait manuf. worms, grubs) Not 1 hunting related thing (other than the lodges) end report, unless u planned on buyin a big ticket item ex. boat or trailer or plan a trip, u wasted ur time spent some time talking to a reputable dealer about a 30hp, then a generator, than an atv(no need to state name brand sold) and he told me their prices were exactly the same prices i would find at the store i won't be doing it again was a beautiful day though, and i was off, so wasnt all bad
  12. Class 9 Real Men Ask For Directions When Lost --- Real Life Testimonials. Tuesdays at 6:00 PM Location to be determined. i know this is fake because, men don't get lost, we like to "tour" new places
  13. unless the deer/moose is really injured to where it's barely moving, you shouldn't approach one of these animals when they're down, if they get scared and start to thrash you can get seriously hurt, (i've seen it happen)they can kick pretty good and those hooves can make some major damage, call the police and let them dispatch it, i know it may seem inhumane but safety first, deer have excellent hearing and can hear u creeping up to it so don't try and sneak up, walk up to it so it sees you and if it starts thrashing, walk away, this isn't gospel, as every case is different, but trust me, it can turn bad quickly and end up with an ambulance ride we were behind one on manitoulin, the deer wasn't even moving anymore and there was an insane amount of blood everywhere, everyone thought it was dead, a LARGE gentleman approached it with an axe, when he approached it it started to thrash so he had to lean in pretty close to get a GOOD hit at a moving head and caught a hoof in the neck, i can still picture it, not pretty, the deer died a few minutes later
  14. nice fishes, congrats, i hope u released the first one, looks like one of those rare albinos
  15. corona?????? come on, there's more flavour in bottled water. it seems for me beer runs in streaks right now i'm on a budwieser streak, before it was canadian,moosehead......... as for cheapies i like bohemian, find it tatses similar to canadian this past summer i've started drinking warm beer (started by accident) and have really enjoyed it, not hot but i've come to rather a bottle straight from the case over an ice cold brew only beer i've had that i can't take is old milwaukee, nasty
  16. first off GO HABS GO second i'm not going to continue this discussion cause we've had it many times before and it's always the same and i'm too lazy third i didn't want to start another hockey thread on this board so..... my comment is, anyone see the canucks/ flames game last night, the standing ovation for linden at the beginning of the third then the end of the game and the flames staying back to shake his hand, was great to see and ver deserved for one of the true gentlemen in the game, even though he wasn't a "superstar" although he didn't announce his retirement it looked pretty clear he was done congrats Trevor enjoyed watchin u play the game and wish there were more of you out there quick fact.... did u know Islanders trade Bertuzzi, Mccabe and a 3rd rounder for Linden, and in his daraft class he was #2 overall, 1st was Mike Modano GO HABS GO
  17. i'd like to know how u coaxed her into the trunk, the dog is easy, "come on boy" with the wife, only thing i can think of is a taser will have to experiment and see i'll let u know anybody want to lend me their wife
  18. wow very nice stuff, u have some very loving family happy belated b-day
  19. what a flawed system, when in one game a team can be out of the playoffs to 3rd in the conference, or 3rd in the conference to out of the playoffs, but that's a whole new discussion i'm pullin fir washington on that one as it sits montreal would play ottawa hopefully the leafs don't "try" and injure my habs tonight GO HABS GO
  20. i'm not saying washington is great or even good, but IF they make the playoffs they have a good chance of being an "upset" team for the first round, no matter who they play, (especially montreal) I call Montreal and SJ for the long haul Detroit is too hard to read as they're division is so weak With the news in sensville i wouldn't take the chance on them Godd Luck
  21. great job and pics CC, haters are the few of this board and no matter what u post someone won't like, and some will tell you and call you names, it's a shame really keep fishing and taking pics please, i know myself and many others on this board really enjoy ur posts, even if i've never river fished
  22. Is it just a first round win ur lookin for, as good as Pitts. is i think any team that meets washington (if they're in the playoffs) could be in for an upset, if they doon't play washington i think pitts. and detroit are ur best bet. but as a habs fan i would pick them, if scoring comes into affect i'd pick 1st Montreal 2nd Detroit 3rd SJ 4th Pitts. I don't think the sens would be a terrible pick even after how poor they've been playing GO HABS GO
