  1. How does it stay on your toothbrush?
  2. Would have been "would've " had it been "would'of ". However it was "would of" which was likely intended to be meant as "would have" which yes, you are right, can be abbreviated (contracted) to "would've "! Now I just need to straighten my tongue out.
  3. I couldn't resist. Is it like the "Nazi calling the Nazi black?" (or insert Kettle for Nazi!)
  4. Do you mean "have" ?
  5. Sweet! I'm still fishing back to the wind...probably do the flasher thing before a flip up (can't hide a flip up as easily from my much better half! )
  6. Ok, I've got a chorus for a new song!!..."Dave and his Big fat salties make the fish'n world go 'round" There shouldn't be any copyright infringement. I checked with Freddy already! (although I haven't heard from him yet, I think he'll be ok with it )
  7. Ah you're too handsome to have been in a video with those guys!
  8. What does Gulps packaging strategy have to do with Dave Mercer?
  9. Oh TJ, thank you! I have a funeral tomorrow for my grandmother and things have been rather 'un-Christmas like' this week. That is the first thing I have not just smiled about, but laughed out loud at, so far in the last week! Thank you!
  10. I have the 6, 8, 10 & 12lb 660yd spools of copolymer. I've used the 8lb on my spinning reels and haven't had any issues with it. I have the 12lb on a bait caster that I haven't used all that much. I'm going to try the 6lb on an ultra light setup next year. It probably won't be until later next year that I've got some better experience with it.
  11. Exactly!
  12. Next Season? You mean the one that starts when there's at least 4 inches of ice? Right?
  13. Hey, I resemble that remark! (Still in my 30's, so not too old by some standards ) Ouch. There was so much snow then, that their was really only like a 4 ft drop to the top of the pile below. Lots of fun!...no injuries
  14. As a kid when we'd spend a Christmas at the cottage, after dad shoveled the roof, we'd toboggan off the roof onto the piles below!
  15. How about borrowing an 8" hand op from your neighbour, get to the cottage at 8pm just in time to cut a hole or 2 for a little evening fun, only to not have made it more than 3-4" in 20+ minutes! Ended up walking the shore knocking on cottages looking for a year round neighbour who might have one to borrow. We lucked out at about 10pm and someone lent us their 6" manual. Let us use it for the weekend. Cut 18" in a few minutes tops! Ended up that the neighbour we got the 8" from had used it for fence post holes in his backyard, and thought the "blades felt fine " :wallbash: Quite the learning experience for the 1st time ice fishing!
  16. I guess it all depends on time of the day you're usually on. In some cases (maybe most ) work productivity might improve a little.
  17. Gauge me potentially interested.
  18. Call me environmental...I'm GREEN with envy!
  19. I must admit that while I'm a fan of the guys on Fish'N Canada, I'm getting tired of the seemingly endless Muskol "bits" which are blatant commercials, even when it's the guys making it look like it's a part of the show. Enough already! It really is seeming like 20 minutes of commercial with 10 minutes of content!
  20. Ok, so you've had the thrill of buying the Koppers...now why not enjoy the thrill of GIVING the Koppers! Wouldn't your kids love to receive something that is so dear to their old man's heart? And if you play it right, with a little tear rolling down the cheek when they are opening them and they see your sense of joy, they'll probably be more than happy to let you borrow them! Sounds like a win-win to me!
  21. I read through this review. It is quite informative...for the kind of review it is. One bit of information I found interesting was about the 'crystal' which is the component in the transducer that emits the sonar signal. He noted the Marcum as being a TRUE dual beam transducer, as it has 2 crystals, 1 for each frequency, whereas the Humminbird only has 1 crystal and utilizes it for both beams which makes the wide angle beam produced from the 'secondary' signal not as high a quality signal as the 'primary' signal for the narrow beam. He related to signal challenges on the wide angle beam at certain depths and not getting as clear an image as a true dual beam (2 crystals) like the Marcum. Food for thought.
  22. It would seem odd, however if you think about a gas kitchen stove, they don't get vented outside (directly). Sure you may have a hood vent fan above, but it's probably not used all the time and there's probably kitchens that may not ever have the fans at all.
  23. Makes sense. Thanks for the insight. Does anyone have any insight or an argument as to why they would use the zoom in the water column and not just the bottom?
  24. One of the features I've seen regarding the Marcum LX5 which looks to make sense is the ability to zoom in on not just the bottom, but anywhere in the water column. I haven't seen that Vex & Humminbird have the same ability? I've been looking at the Ice-55 compared to the LX5. The main difference in deciding factors looks to be the digital display, or the zoom feature anywhere in the water column. What do you guys think? I'mHooked
